U saved me mate. My PS4 is the original model back from 2015. It was overheating just in 5 mins even on FIFA and Apex was out of bounds. And like 80% of the screws were stripped and stuck. Used ur trick and got them all put but still am figuring out how to get replacement screws in India here.😂😂
Bro i love youuu mane i was dealing with this problem for atleast 3 months couldn’t play because of overheating but now i can buy a new fan to replace it because i took out the screw thank you broo fr💯🙏🏽
This didnt work for me but what i did worked. So i basically got a 2.4mm flathead and just hammered it in and then just screwed it out but i had to get a new screw
You’re the goat. I was trying to fix this for hours and was just going to take it into a shop and pay whatever then I came across your video. I didn’t have the tool and I remember that’s at of all the tools I could’ve taken by mistake from school it was the needle nose and I left it in my car. It felt like fate knowing that out of all the tools I have at school and for me to mistakenly take the one I needed for this is no just a coincidence. I ended up taking the screw out with some time and patience cause it wasn’t easy but eventually got it out and fixed my PS4 Thank you again and you’re the best!
hello i have the same problem and my father decided to drill it out and he did it for a while but then i told him to stop cuz i was scared the green plate under it, will break..but we tried this on a ps2 and it was fine and nothing broke but this PS4 screw is really long compared to the ps2 one so i am really lost and don't know what to do..do you guys think i could drill it out or no
@@areebwasi yea i know,we tried drilling it out but then my father fucked it up and made a hole in the power supply but it somehow works and i probably had luck..but there were some notifications that its corrupted my data so yea..never doing that again
one worked but i can’t get a grip of the other two it’s like they’re so tightly screwed in i got mine second hand so who ever screwed the screw in did not want them to come out like :|
As long as you can get a grip on the head with the needlenose pliers, you can twist it till to finally gives. Just dont expect to be reusing that same screw to get it back together lol
@@fatalpenguinful I won’t, if I will be able to get the screw out, would I be able to use the screws around it to support it ? Without using the rounded screw
@@leewade3773 im not sure. I imagine it would still work, just be careful when you flip/handle it since the power supply isnt fully secured like it is when the screws in there
I don't have the same problem. However, I was cleaning my ps4 and I can't tighten the screw in. The power supply isn't loose when I turn it upside down and nothing appears to be damaged. Any tips?
@@fatalpenguinful yeah but I finally decided to just clean it as much as I can without fully opening it, but cleaning jt by taking the cover off and using compressed air on the fan
I believe these are just a cheapy walmart/harbor freight pair. I'd actually recommend one that's a little skinnier in the head for easier access in that tiny screw area.

Yeah I know my games kept crashing and I was about to buy a new ps4
But my isn’t peaking out that i cant grab the head of the screw it like inside the plastic...
His is as well, which is why you need pliers
Does it still work if it only has 1 screw because i broke one and I don’t have a spare
What is the name of that type of long screw?
This didnt work for me but what i did worked. So i basically got a 2.4mm flathead and just hammered it in and then just screwed it out but i had to get a new screw
Is the triangle metal piece on the screw important because one of mine broke
I don’t know what to do I got 1 small tight screw inside my PlayStation pro and I need to get it open to clean it out

Same here
I have the same problem at the same spot but in my ps4 its in a hole this screw so i cant pull it out with the Pliers
So how long did it take for it to finally come out ?
do you have any tips for getting them back in?
The same way as you took it out
You mention "monthly cleaning". Have you ever had the plastic threads get stripped where the screws just don't tighten down.
The threads inside the ps4, not the screw itself? No ive never had that happen.
I don't have the same problem. However, I was cleaning my ps4 and I can't tighten the screw in. The power supply isn't loose when I turn it upside down and nothing appears to be damaged. Any tips?
I know this is a year later, but did you solve it? Because I'm having the same issue.
Thanks for the video bro, life saver
Can you please tell how many inches is this plier??
It's a needle nose, they're generally two or three inches long
I finally found the video for me but sucks to say it didn't work which really sucks because now I can't even play games without it overheating
They make screw extractors that you could drill it out but it's just finding one small enough for those tiny screws. That sucks tho!

fatalpenguin thanks so much
What size are those needle nose pliers pal
The ones I had are pretty fat ones. I'd actually recommend a skinny one.
THANK U SO MUCH! u saved me
