Same and I popped it open to find the heat sync COMPLETELY clogged with maybe 2cm of dust, I pulled the whole thing off with my hand and it stayed together
honestly... from seeing how clean the INSIDE actually was... it probably was his internet connection
em gee yeah.. my internet connection is advanced and upgraded! And I highly suspect on dust problems for me.
After I cleaned up my ps4 it’s stopped the lag and freeze every time I move around.. felt lot better now! 😀

Have no fear! It's easier than it looks. If you can use a screwdriver and follow a video it's easy.
As long as you don't use a lot of force and move slowly/carefully while following directions, you'll be fine. It's a lot easier than expected.

Another huge tip to fixing the loudness of the fan is to replace the thermal paste in the PS4. Flip it over on the back (remember to take out the screw by the ports) and get to the motherboard and replace the thermal paste. It's a night and day difference!

Thanks, the plastic welds were a pain to get past but when all was said and done, my ps4 sounds soo soo much better now. No noise at all.
How did you get around those? Every "solution" i see is cutting them of making the plate not secure afterwards..
I cleaned my brothers ps4, note that it was the first model when it had just released. That thing still sounds like a jet engine but at least it’s a much quieter jet engine now LOL

Thank you so much!! This helped me learn how to clean my PS4! When I opened it up, there was an absolutely thick blanket of dust over the heat sync that was causing my PS$ to become really loud upon starting a game.
Was it scary unscrewing it?
Maybe I'm just stupid but could that build up also be why my ps4 gets really hot so fast. I've had problems with overheating and so when I turn on my ps4 I check to see how fast until it gets hot and within 5 minutes or so it gets pretty hot. Could that simply just be because of buildup of dust? It's also right by the heat sync so im now assuming that's what it is.

I just cleaned the outside ports, opened it and just cleaned the top part, didnt do those extra steps, so much more quiet. Worth it

Awesome video! This helped me take my poor PS4 apart. It was a used one from eBay always seemed super loud and was like a small heater in my room. Took it apart while watching this video and I wish I could show you the pictures of the literal dust and lint carpet that had covered my heat sink plus the disgusting caked up fan blades and fan housing!

@@alexandercastillo7714 Should have. Unless they had a hardware issue, dirty intakes and stuff is the usual cause of a loud PS4. After you clean it, it should run smoother and quieter.

If ur terrified (like me) to do this. I’d recommended to brush the sides and blow, them safe mode-> rebuild database. My game ran so much more smooth afterwards

At first i thought it was a skin that he had for the slim, then when he wiped it I was like O.O woah
My experience with the ps4 is that most of the dust and hair accumulates under the bottom cover which requires you to remove the warranty screw. Under the top cover my ps4 looked very good but when I remove the bottom cover it was a freaking disaster.
Thats what I was wondering... Besides I don't know who the bigger idiot was Him or his brother.... His brotherfor not wipingit down every once and a while, or dummy #1 blows it out withair, then takesitaapart anyways, only to not do a proper cleanm "... I could clean each blad.. but I don't want to..."Then why bother... and/or #2 ( My late brothertold me) never use Canned air on electronics as you can/will freeze components and could possibly cause cracks or fractures in soldier or comonents rendering you Electronics completely useless... and if it does freeze them and youputyour PS4back to gether and turn it on right away... well if youare not sure what happens. stick your ps4 in youur freezer for a day, then plugit in and turn it on andsee what... doesnt happen... lol...
