Thank you Ken, I bought this lens on your recommendation and just love it. The Rolls Royce of lenses! Great images and lovely experience to use on still subjects. It also is the perfect partner to my silver X-T3, visually. This is my first very Voightlander lens and I’m sure I’ll buy more. Thanks again. UK.
Thank you for all your work, sir. Based your videos I am the proud owner of the voight: 28 f2.8 zeiss 35f2 voigt: nikon: 35 f2 voight: 58 f1.4 ziess 85 and 100.
Compared to the Voigtlander nokton 35 mm f1.2 version III which do you prefer? Which one has a better bokeh? Why don’t you do lens reviews anymore??? We miss them
5 years ago you did a review for the voigtlander 35mm f1.2 which is now in its third version. How does this compare to that lens? I've tried watching other reviews for voigtlander but I just can't with those other reviewers. Please continue to make voigtlander reviews. Help us Ken, you're our only hope!
How does this lens compare to the Fuji lenses when used on an X-T3? I am wondering how much you are giving up when not using one of the Fuji prime lenses specifically designed for the X mount.
I recieved one of these from Stephen and there was a noticeably large piece debris on a inner element. He was super helpful in getting me a replacement, I would recommend his business 👍
Voigtlander's website seems to indicate this new version mk 2 is optimized for digital cameras. If I wanted to shoot film should I go for this or the older version?
since I got my voigt 40/1.2 e mount, I am hungry for vintage lenses.. totally in love with Takumars.. Manual focusing is next level after Sony eye-AF... :)
Hey! I bought the Fujifilm adapter for Leica M to FX .. i read online on a silly shop-page that the Nokton 35 1.4 II MC would NOT work with that adapter.. i just wanted to ask you if theres anything different with the other M-Lenses? I thought it has (obviously) the same m mount as any other m lens... if i am right that the lens works with the adapter - please just respont with a thumb up! Thanks man! Hope youre doing well
how many lenses like this can make a digital camera look like an old film image ? i'd like to do a little more research on them if you can recommend any
I'm hoping on the Voigtlander train, but as a cinematographer, I am wondering if the character across different focal lengths are going to match consistent enough for cinema use.
Nice review. Please does anybody know if the M-mount Voightlander 35mm lens has problems at corners due to thicker low pass filter of Sony full frame e-mount cameras?
K&F Concept Leica adapter gets off the lens too easily. One time I was changing lenses, and somehow managed to take off the lens off of the adapter, the adapter stayed on camera. I did not notice it, and tried to mount Fuji lens, and it was not mounting... Only then I noticed the adapter still attached to the camera. After that incident, I ordered Novoflex adapters. The fit with the lens is so tight that other people were complaining about it, not realizing that this is an advantage. The adapter becomes integral part of the kens, never meant to be taken off. Also they come with lens caps that fit just right. Standard Fuji lens caps are very loose on K&F Concept adapters, no fit at all, always rattling.
I got this lens and unfortunately can't recommend it. Muddy, lots of barrell distortion and unusable from 1.4 to almost 2. Great construction but optically mediocre. I get it. It is cheap. But for 200 more you can get the zm 35mm that wipes the floor with this lens.
Yes they have fix the focus shift problem. You can check in this link And could you please tell me if it is good for B&W photography with fuji xpro2? www.robertwhite.co.uk/voigtlander/voigtlander-35mm-f1-4-vm-ii-nokton-classic-sc-lens.html
Hi Ken, Thank you for the nice review. I have a question : I have the fujifilm xpro 3 and the Voigtländer f1.4 II lens and between the Fuji adapter. What is the final focal of my lens ? Is it 50mm (1.5*35) or 78mm (1.5*1.5*35) ?
Just happened to see this "review". As good or better than a Leica? This lens is worse than my 60s 35mm Summicron both optically and mechanically. I bought mine two years ago because I wanted a more modern lens and the focus ring is already loose. Optically, besides the completely uncontrollable flair, it exhibits copious amounts of vignetting and barrel distortion. Although I'm not fanatical about sharpness and I use film where it doesn't matter as much, the lens is pretty much unusable at f1.4 and marginal at f2.0. I imagine this would drive a digital shooter crazy. 1.4 on this lens is just plain gimmicky. So, who cares about bokeh if you can't use the lens wide open. There isn't even a comparison in feel, quality or optics with my "modern" 25 year-old Summicron 50mm which is as tight as the day I bought it.
What an exhaustive in depth review ! Many thanks for telling us how to go on Flickr !

Great lens! Character, versatility, compact & smooth!

Which lens should I buy for my Leica M6, the nokton 1.4 or the ultron 2.0? Which lens has the best quality? Thanks
Which one did you get?
I love my 40mm f1.4
Just ordered mine. All I needed is your review to convince me.
Thank you Ken

6 minutes video to say nothing about the lens - except the price, yes, we got this, and that there are examples on flickr... O_O
Hi Ken, could you possible touch on a update on this lens in a up coming video. It would be nice to hear your thoughts currently. Thank you!
so compact and beautiful, i wish I had this one and a zeiss 35mm f2

Love the k&f adapters keep ordering them for my camera

How does it compare to other 35mm lenses. Rendering, image fidelity, sharpness, saturation.
That's why I opened this video in first place too, unfortunately an author doesn't see importance in discussing these subjects.
I'm hoping on the Voigtlander train, but as a cinematographer, I am wondering if the character across different focal lengths are going to match consistent enough for cinema use.

How does it compare to the Fuji 35 1.4 in regards to micro contrast, saturation etc?
Jimmy80N not nearly as good. The voigtlander 35mm f2 Ultron is much better at f2 and matches the Fuji

gotta ask the question...how is this compared to the zeiss 35 f2?
Probably won't hold a candle. The biogon is known to be better than even the Summicron ASPH lens.
I'd really like to know if they have fixed focus shift problems with this lens. Shame you can't do proper testing with digital leica bodies.
Yes they have fix the focus shift problem. You can check in this link

what about the ring flare ? i wanna see the flare on this lens
I use one on my Leica m6.
Hey. What's the difference between the old and new version? I have the old version SC
Theo Biddulph he will never respond because he even doesn’t know the difference 😂🤣😂🤣🤣
How it compare with the 40 mm 1.2?
Would a multicoated polerized filter help those old Russian lenses?btw I love my voigtlander 58mm nokton is tits hasn't left my camera for 2 years.
it's better too many lenses than not enough
Ken you the Best
Where can I buy that lens lol

It is 50mm, the adapter plays no role in the focal length.
HellasRide Thank you so much HellasRide !
@@redhakl hey! Hows the lens on the xpro3? Im thinking about getting jt
@@brayanb91746 You must use an adapter of course. I love shouting with this lens. The images are sharp.
@@redhakl fantastic! I was going to get the adapter. Great to hear the sharpness is on point!
Uncle Fester reviews camera lenses too. LMAO dude is all over my RUclips algorithm
can these be adapted to Nikon F Mounts?
yes, but some smack the mirror, so no
Sure. Try it.

Wtf!! What about pictures? No personal opinion? You hated 1st version and just water water water here.
Pics or it never happened
