Y’all already know im waiting for that talbot special durability test
Maybe Stemp too
Send it to the moon 🌙
Tumble Wumble!
@E.H. doesn’t matter, even the strongest rc in the world goes through quality control changes in the materials used.
Me too :)
Love it! Going to pre-order today. Quick tip- same with Baja and Rock Rey, you can remove the entire cage and body with about 12 screws and it gives you way better access to the chassis. All the body panels can stay on.
Shoulda made the body clip on and off real easy. 12 screws is still stupid.
Great tip on the cage removal.
-Brett
It does secure the body more though so idk if it's completely stupid but even 6 screws would've secured it
You should do some videos on the Hammer Rey!
Love how the suspension looks while driving. Cool truck!
It's long wheelbase makes it interesting. I think it would be awesome with a bunch of friends and a dirt track.
Your such a great reviewer Brett. I absolutely love your content. Straight to the point. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to more 👍❤️💯🙏🙂
Hey Tom! Thanks for the support and good to hear from you.
-Brett
Your videos are awesome and full of info, you are 1 of the best rc guys on you tube
Excellent review as always 😊
Bro!!! This thing is so wicked!!! Its my new favorite! RC. It just looks awesome 😎
Had the opportunity to see one of these in action at a crawler spot in Newport Beach, definitely not intended for these types of trucks. And that thing took a beating the whole time and not a single thing broke. I can’t wait to get my own!
I can't wait to check this thing out. See the size in comparison to an SCX10.III Bronco and Redcat Gen8 V2.
Gosh the weather looks so nice there! Perfect for Rc. It’s still snowing here in Montana
Looks like well made truck I wouldn't expect anything less from losi
That's looks like a very fun truck when you go camping or something like that. It looks amazing driving. Thanks for the video
*Awesome off-roading! That's a cool truck!👍*
Am I the only one who sees how good the suspension is? Look how stable it is. Long wheelbase and great suspension makes some great car.
Great video as always.
I glue my washer perched onto the chassis. Little super glue helps to keep from losing them. It’s not strong, they just won’t fall off while you are working on it.
This looks awesome , I might just have to get myself one
Love the rig! Glad to see the Rock Ray live on in a new form....Next question is...... Super Hammer Rey??? 🤔🤤🤑
It's still 10th scale, IF losi could push for a Super Hammer Rey for 1/8 scale in the future?🤔 still thinking about It!
Superb! Great info, Thank you for the size comparison, it's getting absurd that 1/10 scale branding choice. LOL
“Oh we broke something, it didn’t break” felt
Nice to see they’re giving the ESC a bit more headroom as far as amps go. 100amp isn’t great for 3s; 130 is much better
It's a baja rey esc
The 130 Amp esc works pretty good, It's a hobbywing ezrun WP-SC8 that's been rebranded for Horizon Hobby . I changed out the 6pole 2800kv motor for an 2650kv 4pole in my Rock Rey and the cogging reduced significantly. It'll even take a 4s lipo. The tough part is finding a 4s battery that will fit in the compartment.
@@smiley37greg 4s is just overkill on this platform, run a 10t pinion to reduce clogging, 10t pinions are included with baja reys and designed to be run with a 3cell
killer lookin truck
Okay when I first saw the release, I wasn't that excited other than saying "the scale look so nice." At the time thinking it's just a 1/10 Baja Rey with a different body on top & tries. And while that's partly true, the size difference is pretty wild. Losi really did themselves a disservice calling this a 1/10 when it's basically the same size as a URD & Mojave. It looks nice and is roughly $100 less than a Mojave and $200 less than a URD? Yeah that's a good deal.
This would be really cool after locking all diffs
Awesome RC and great overview of it
Nice review.
Some people "Traxxas cars are so expensive!" - "580$ Losi Hammer with plastic driveshafts exists"
@@smolscale thats the entire point lmao, traxxas mostly uses plastic for a reason
“Bashing near our van down by the river” 😂
I'll tell ya, I had no idea how many darn types of vehicles there were out there. I just learned about "rock bouncers" and then today I learn there are "rock racers"? I'm only into this hobby since last summer but deciding on my next car is basically impossible at this point lol
Can you guys do a video on the vendetta next? I'd love to hear if you had issues hitting 70 without doing something to the slipper clutch. Thanks in advance!
Pretty dang cool 😎 🔥👍✌️
I wanted one, until LHS guy informed me that even thou you can easily upgrade motor to 4S, the built in battery bay, will not work with larger 4S battery...Sh/t i said...So walked away, went DB Pro, with 4S motor upgrade, and savox 1210 servo...Very, Very happy with this purchase...4S on DB Pro is epic, but find running at 75% is the sweet spot, or 100% on 3S...Steel drive shafts provide good reliability, however 4S can be rough on the Outdrives!
what type of device did you use to catch the speed
I thought it was only 2-3s lipo? Is it also 4s capable?
I really wish you offered kits for all these vehicles, since you're putting Spektrum electronics on everything....
It looks pretty narrow next to the short corse and other Rc's. I watched another review that said the same thing about the traction roll. Wonder if putting wider tires 🛞 would help with that? Nothing worse then having to flip your RC back over every 2 minutes. 😂
I'm betting it's mostly the tires, the Rock Rey was the same way. Super tall soft tires sucked. I put Sand Paws on mine and it was money!
I have a Tamiya M07 up for sale on Ebay , mint condition and ready to race just add a receiver! Carbon fiber upgrades! Grab it fast!
Great review as always Amain! @ 2:06 you said the receiver is water resistant but the Horizon website says it's waterproof...?
It's possible it is.
-Brett
is it front tippy like the Fireteam? looks like it in the video. looks super cool though! great review as always.
Not that we noticed, but most of the truck is up front.
-Brett
I like it okay, I wish it had the suspension action of a UDR. It seems quit bouncy on any surface lacking smoothness…
How are you doing Brett, love the vids
Hey, I'm doing good! Thanks for watching the vids.
-Brett
The real question is..... will they discontinue the super rock rey?
i WAS wondering why i haven't seen any rock reys' anymore. not at all disappointed by what i see or hear in this p.s.a.
So if the ESC is okay to run 4s, is the motor suited for that also or do we have to upgrade it?
Correct about the ESC, and the motor is 2-3S. So if you want to use 4S, you'll need a 4S motor. The truck is pretty wild on 3S though.
-Brett
Bruh, its HUGE!!! As big as UDR...
Imagine if we get an updated Baja Rey big as this with more scale accesories and a Bronco R body
You can get the SBR already.
Thats what she said
Are the tire size's a 2.2? Might get the Proline Mickey Thompson Baja Pro XP tires for it.
Yeah, they're definitely 2.2"
-Brett
IM LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER
Another PITA LOSI with more screws! Thought the SBR 2.0 was bad.
Does this look large for 1/10 scale or is that dude just really small?
Will these wheels and tires work with the losi baja rey 1/10 scale?
That's a good question but i'm not sure. The hex size should be right but will the tires rub on the baja rey? They'd definitely rub on the Raptor Baja Rey but they may be ok on the standard Baja Rey, just not 100% on that.
-Brett
Is this the same size as a udr
I hope we get a 1/6 version
why do people want wider all the time? well yes it does corner better, but if something is wider than it is long, it looks stupid. If you want fast, buy a fast, low truck. Try driving a 1:1 truck if you want to see how easy you can roll a 4x4. You wouldn't try a full lock turn at say 100mph with a real one, so why expect a model to?
Great review btw 👍🍺🇬🇧
ps one thing - why spend $$$/£££ then try to smash it up with "sending it"? don't you enjoy your trucks in one piece?! 🤣. The manufacturers love the people who send.
Losi doesn’t say that it is compatible with 4s lipos I think because of the motor
Correct
Wish they'd make it wider. My Rock Rey already flips a lot.
Hello from southeast alaska. I'm digging the losi hammering. Thinking about picking myself up one. Unless you want to give me this one. Just kidding
You'll have so much sunlight soon, you're going to need a truck like this!
-Brett
what is the total length of the vehicle?
To work on this chassis is a pain. Yeti XL is the only one that they should evolve further
What’s the title of the tune 7 minutes and 29 seconds in please? Would like to know, seriously want my own copy. Great vid by the way o have 3 losis so far
Good ear! ruclips.net/video/Z0XyyiwTXLA/видео.html
-Brett
Nice
Did they beef up the diffs they got our brand new Baja Ray the rear diff or something is bad 😔
.....so pissed not one pack
It is a nice one. I do love it. How to buy it?
Check out our shop! We sell the Hammer Rey here: www.amainhobbies.com/losi-hammer-rey-u4-1-10-rtr-4wd-brushless-rock-racer-truck-green-los03030t2/p1417030
-Brett
Is it possible to use parts of the hammer rey on the baja rey?
In case they cancle the ford raptor baja rey.
That we don't know, sorry.
-Brett
several parts from the Baja Rey are the same on the Hammer Rey... but we can also confirm the Baja Rey wont be discontinued any time soon :)
Thanks, for replying losi. I'm shure what car I get now.
Love my Rock Rey. granted it does require a few upgrades. I drive it on gravel, grass and dirt trails. It's not asphalt friendly but looks so realistic in action.
Cheers
Cool, but in my opinion, it's got nothing on the UDR, at least when it comes to suspension.
Not that my opinion matters, but it would have been a bit better if they made it a tad bit wider.
Yessss.. now if only someone will make wide hex extenders for it 🙏
Would you know if there are any cars coming from KYOSHO?
Yeah, I believe they released another Fazer Mk2 ReadySet with the Mustang Body; it's drift oriented. They also announced the Mad Wagon VE which they just released a video on: ruclips.net/video/2bg8I0vLTwA/видео.html
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies Thank you.
What is the global release date when I can actually buy it?
I'm guessing it's probably a few weeks away, no date was provided.
-Brett
What size wheels? 1.9" or 2.2"?
2.2
I want one 👍
esc is rated for 4s but the motor is rated for 3s.
This thing rolls like crazy? Any tips to stop that?
It's very off-road focused so keep it on dirt where it can slide around. Pavement is high-traction, and will lead to lots of traction rolls.
You could also retune the suspension for your terrain. You could try heavier shock fluid, lower ride height, different tires, etc.
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies thank you!
question i ask is how slow it is, if i can crawl it
There is a bit of cogging on the extreme low end to finesse through, but the Hammer Rey can go pretty slow, chugging along with minor inputs. The one downside to crawling are the diffs being open and slipping, but a little blip on the throttle will usually do the trick.
-Brett
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Getting this soon can't wait... Just pre order the red one....I have this spectrum system sitting on shelf...I guess I have a extra.
It have the firma 4s esc but the car Is 2/3s Spec why is it like that
Bc people have no commonsense and will break it prematurely expecting it be warenteed. Technically the motors only 3s and if they used a lower kv motor it wouldn't be as fast with 2 and 3s while being heavier with 4s battery which is counterproductive. You escs will last longer not running at there capacity. I do run this combo on 4s in my dbpro but I really don't beat on that car and have fans .
Also battery size is tough and expensive finding small enough 4s batteries even with the db pro
@@paulclancy2404 ok 👍
motor is only rated for 3s
Prettu but pricey, sucks that no rear lights are attached.
compare to the mojave is pretty close to a 1/7, according to the scale is can same for the Jeep Willy is a 1/6 but is more close to 1/10, I think for scale and quality because chassis plate was created much better that arrma and traxxas this Hammer Rey i want for my birthday, it will a great gift for myself
Man I just wanna know when that mst rmx 2.0 A90 pre order is gonna get here from across the seas 😔
Pre order is already up bro bro. Go into the mst rmx 2.0 rtr and select the a90.
@@rcloner1895 correct the comment was pertaining to when we actually will receive. I have had a pre-order for it in for around 3 months 👍
Hummmm, the 1:1 has a Jeep grill & the RC has a Toyota grill. Copyright? Since it's a molded grill, hopefully somebody in the AM will make the correct grill for it. Other than that, it looks pretty good!
For whatever reason, the body/grill wasn't able to get licensed with jeep. But like you said, someone will have some files or offer them down the road.
-Brett
nice but maybe a bit narrow 😀👍👍
Yes too narrow
Has no protection for the front end.. Never been a fan of not having a wide extended bumper in front.. All my rc's are fitted with a nice wide bumper to protect the front end from damage.
I will call A main Hobbies to verify that it's not a scam first.. too many criminals
Exact same ESC & motor as the LMT but in a much lighter platform. This is gonna rip
@5:25, you meant to say Rock Rey on the left
It's a nice truck, but if you have owned a baja rey you already know what a pain it is to get to the electronics. I owned both baja reys the super and the 10th. I would think that they would of designed it easier to get the body off. And the front of the trucks chassis is really thin I've broke the front of the 10th baja rey before. It's a nice looking truck they should of locked the diffs or gave the option to do so, I think that people are going to try to rock race it and with out the lockers it's not going to do well.
They do sell a rear diff locker for it
Looks cool. Rather get a raptor Rey
hate that they say its 1/10 when its longer then 1/7, why not just advertise it as it is?
¿This or Baja Rey?
Lmfbo!!! They released yesterday and they are already out of stock, both colors🤣🤦♂️
are you sure its an IC5 and not IC3?
Just double checked, it's IC5 (also compatible with EC5).
-Brett
@@AMain_HobbiesThanks! You the best :)
It is super cool car, but for that price, I would rather spend 200 more for UDR
wasnt the rock ray not that old???? thats gotta sting....
LeTtTtTtTsSsSs GoOoOoOooOo
That’s a Boo with a capital B
What gear did you guys use for the 4s lipo?
I believe we used the ProTek 4S competition race pack, but the Spektrum Smart 4S Battery would be most ideal. You'll only want to use a 3S or 2S in this vehicle though, 4S is a little too much to handle and 3S is the sweet spot.
-Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies thanks but I wanted to know what gearing was used to be able to safely run the 4s. It was mentioned in the video that the vehicle was geared down.
It is in fact, not officially licensed. it's an officially approved design.
0:53 yeah im not a huge fan of green and white either
Pretty big for 1/10th scale
Seems like a cool rig but come on guys it's 2022 we have fully waterproof Electronics now and have for some time.
Why does everyone use the same background music???
