Love it! Going to pre-order today. Quick tip- same with Baja and Rock Rey, you can remove the entire cage and body with about 12 screws and it gives you way better access to the chassis. All the body panels can stay on.
I glue my washer perched onto the chassis. Little super glue helps to keep from losing them. It’s not strong, they just won’t fall off while you are working on it.
The 130 Amp esc works pretty good, It's a hobbywing ezrun WP-SC8 that's been rebranded for Horizon Hobby . I changed out the 6pole 2800kv motor for an 2650kv 4pole in my Rock Rey and the cogging reduced significantly. It'll even take a 4s lipo. The tough part is finding a 4s battery that will fit in the compartment.
@@smiley37greg 4s is just overkill on this platform, run a 10t pinion to reduce clogging, 10t pinions are included with baja reys and designed to be run with a 3cell
Had the opportunity to see one of these in action at a crawler spot in Newport Beach, definitely not intended for these types of trucks. And that thing took a beating the whole time and not a single thing broke. I can’t wait to get my own!
Okay when I first saw the release, I wasn't that excited other than saying "the scale look so nice." At the time thinking it's just a 1/10 Baja Rey with a different body on top & tries. And while that's partly true, the size difference is pretty wild. Losi really did themselves a disservice calling this a 1/10 when it's basically the same size as a URD & Mojave. It looks nice and is roughly $100 less than a Mojave and $200 less than a URD? Yeah that's a good deal.
It looks pretty narrow next to the short corse and other Rc's. I watched another review that said the same thing about the traction roll. Wonder if putting wider tires 🛞 would help with that? Nothing worse then having to flip your RC back over every 2 minutes. 😂
I'll tell ya, I had no idea how many darn types of vehicles there were out there. I just learned about "rock bouncers" and then today I learn there are "rock racers"? I'm only into this hobby since last summer but deciding on my next car is basically impossible at this point lol
why do people want wider all the time? well yes it does corner better, but if something is wider than it is long, it looks stupid. If you want fast, buy a fast, low truck. Try driving a 1:1 truck if you want to see how easy you can roll a 4x4. You wouldn't try a full lock turn at say 100mph with a real one, so why expect a model to? Great review btw 👍🍺🇬🇧 ps one thing - why spend $$$/£££ then try to smash it up with "sending it"? don't you enjoy your trucks in one piece?! 🤣. The manufacturers love the people who send.
Can you guys do a video on the vendetta next? I'd love to hear if you had issues hitting 70 without doing something to the slipper clutch. Thanks in advance!
Hummmm, the 1:1 has a Jeep grill & the RC has a Toyota grill. Copyright? Since it's a molded grill, hopefully somebody in the AM will make the correct grill for it. Other than that, it looks pretty good!
For whatever reason, the body/grill wasn't able to get licensed with jeep. But like you said, someone will have some files or offer them down the road. -Brett
Has no protection for the front end.. Never been a fan of not having a wide extended bumper in front.. All my rc's are fitted with a nice wide bumper to protect the front end from damage.
Bc people have no commonsense and will break it prematurely expecting it be warenteed. Technically the motors only 3s and if they used a lower kv motor it wouldn't be as fast with 2 and 3s while being heavier with 4s battery which is counterproductive. You escs will last longer not running at there capacity. I do run this combo on 4s in my dbpro but I really don't beat on that car and have fans .

It's a nice truck, but if you have owned a baja rey you already know what a pain it is to get to the electronics. I owned both baja reys the super and the 10th. I would think that they would of designed it easier to get the body off. And the front of the trucks chassis is really thin I've broke the front of the 10th baja rey before. It's a nice looking truck they should of locked the diffs or gave the option to do so, I think that people are going to try to rock race it and with out the lockers it's not going to do well.
Yeah, I believe they released another Fazer Mk2 ReadySet with the Mustang Body; it's drift oriented. They also announced the Mad Wagon VE which they just released a video on: ruclips.net/video/2bg8I0vLTwA/видео.html -Brett

That's a good question but i'm not sure. The hex size should be right but will the tires rub on the baja rey? They'd definitely rub on the Raptor Baja Rey but they may be ok on the standard Baja Rey, just not 100% on that. -Brett
Love my Rock Rey. granted it does require a few upgrades. I drive it on gravel, grass and dirt trails. It's not asphalt friendly but looks so realistic in action. Cheers
There is a bit of cogging on the extreme low end to finesse through, but the Hammer Rey can go pretty slow, chugging along with minor inputs. The one downside to crawling are the diffs being open and slipping, but a little blip on the throttle will usually do the trick. -Brett

Great tip on the cage removal.

It does secure the body more though so idk if it's completely stupid but even 6 screws would've secured it

It's long wheelbase makes it interesting. I think it would be awesome with a bunch of friends and a dirt track.
Love how the suspension looks while driving. Cool truck!

I like it okay, I wish it had the suspension action of a UDR. It seems quit bouncy on any surface lacking smoothness…
Not that my opinion matters, but it would have been a bit better if they made it a tad bit wider.
Yessss.. now if only someone will make wide hex extenders for it 🙏
esc is rated for 4s but the motor is rated for 3s.
The real question is..... will they discontinue the super rock rey?
“Bashing near our van down by the river” 😂

Wish they'd make it wider. My Rock Rey already flips a lot.
i WAS wondering why i haven't seen any rock reys' anymore. not at all disappointed by what i see or hear in this p.s.a.
Cool, but in my opinion, it's got nothing on the UDR, at least when it comes to suspension.
