Back in the '90s we modified our RC10 buggies into oval track "stock cars"; flipping the battery pack, shifting the weight to turn left, modifying the suspension and drivetrain. We even had an oval track racing league. I still have my "Monte Carlo SS Aero Coupe" body shell. Now you just open the box and race. Still looks like fun. Wish RC racing was popular near me. I'd love to introduce my kids to it.

This vehicle, while really cool, requires a properly groomed track for legitimate competition. Those are hard to come by. I live in the 4th largest city in the US and regular dirt tracks are few and far between.
Going in a straight line over and over is boring, and driving times are in the seconds. Circle track is fun, you race with other people, drive times are in the minutes. For me, $ for $ circle track is a better investment than Drag. There is more dirt in the world than cement, it's not that difficult to make an oval to race on.

We've been running these in our local Saturday night parking lot oval racing in "Factory Stock" class. Running box stock with only changes are springs, fluids, servo (because stock ones have been going bad), radio and gearing, and two tire choices, stock and DE Racing G6T. They are a blast! Also the DVC has to be turned off.
I machined 4mm off the front spindle shoulder on my DR10 and then 4mm off the spindle shaft to allow the front tires to mount inward 4mm which keeps the tires from rubbing the body and causing unwanted drag and paint loss on the front fenders. Looks like this will work on the SR 10 too. Team Associated should offer 2mm offset spindles to correct this common fault.
I had this car as a rowdy teenager and into my 20s. Beat on all the ricers until the 350z came around. Love the lines and style, and I must have another. In smaller scale, of course.

I have a 3yr old ARRMA Granite Voltage, It hasn't had to many problems, but is currently disassembled on my work bench. (figuring out what's wrong with it) But I recommend it to any new comers to hobby grade RC cars!

I have a UL-19 which is awesome too, there’s not enough RTR hydros available if you ask me. They have a lot of entry level and mid grade stuff too! River Jet, smaller Blackjack, Veles, lots of good stuff!

I’ve not seen this kind of RC before, but like to always watch your reviews as their so detailed. I’m confused about the speed, isn’t all racing about going as fast as possible while maintaining a balance w control and keeping the tires on the dirt? 😂 Do these get faster w upgrades? In the Midwest we don’t have many tracks so most of us are just bashers!
It just depends on the type of racing. In most cases, a slower car will achieve faster lap times for the average driver, because there are fewer mistakes, slider outs, hitting stuff, etc. It's usually more important to drive clean lines with no crashes than to have a car that goes fast, but not always. -Brett

I fail to understand the super low gearing...that BL combo should do at least 25 or even 30 on a 2s lipo. When they first said the mph on 2s and 3s, I assumed it was a brushed setup that could handle 3s. There is really no reason to limit a brushless 1/10 vehicle to 20mph on 2s.
I think the manufacturer added a safe gearing rather than finding the optimal setup and using that. It is the same gearing used on all of the vehicles of this platform. -Brett

The car for the Strip is "D"r10 and the car for the Dirt is "S"r10, that's flip flopped. I want to try the sr10 for concrete onroad courses. Where I drive we use: tc, slash4wd, slash2wd, mini t, buggy2wd, buggy 4wd.
After I seen these were coming out I took the wheelie bar and wing off 1of my dr10 s and put some dirt tires on the back waiting for the rear bumper to come off backorder

DVC is a nice feature though... I WANT the Monte Carlo Body, but I prefer painting myself.

Keep them dry and don't use random cleaning products on your vehicle. Water/moisture is what makes them rust.

What oil you put in shocks??
We didn't change the shock package but they feel equipped with around 30wt from the factory.

Yeah, it's 3 gear with an aluminum top shaft. It's simple and straight forward.

It is a B5 series transmission. All B5,B5M,T5M,SC5M,DR10 trans parts work.

I seen someone on Instagram running 3s with no change in pinion size, stock out the box. Mine arrives today, can't wait, instantly throwing 3s in and going to rip it.
No gearing changes needed; the motor is geared for safe use with 3S, so it can easily take a 2S as well.
