Imagine MS, Google, Amazon and Apple pooled their money and resources to create just one awesome voice assistant that worked on all platforms. Sadly our world hardly ever works like that. Very rarely it does though, like Bluetooth where all the phone companies got together and made something they could all use.
They really need to work on Cortana's speed. Alexa seems a lot faster. But the integration is a novel idea that I hope will grow into something like an agnostic assistant working across different platforms.
Alexa is also slow, Google assistant is the best

So many comments about Cortana being slow... Yes I am a Microsoft, Xbox, HALO fan! However, I can say that my Cortana is faster than this demo presentation! Cortana is so friendly and I am VERY excited for Alexa and Cortana getting together!

failogy you can change your country and language settings to us English and set location to USA to use Cortana work with your PC or laptop .

Google Duplex does not exists in the consumer universe right now. It's just a concept in testing, Cortana and Alexa on the other hand are widely available right now... How are they eating Google's Dust?

It's not a concept in testing. They showed a demo of a pre-release product that's already been through a lot of development. At this point, with or without Google Duplex, EVERY other assistant is biting Google's dust.
Again, its not available right now, look at the Demo, they said it, it's STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT, its an EXPERIMENT...
When its actually released and if it actually works like they say it works then we can look at the state of things then, right now its not.
Unless you have it in your phone right now it does no exists in the consumer market, is that simple, it looks cool but until its released its not biting ANYONES dust..

This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen all year! Can’t wait to use Alexa from my Invoke! That integration will make it so much more powerful and useful for me!
But why should you use both and not only one?
Dont like the idea of thinking about AI's I have to choose from depending on my next action. Merging those to just one would take too much time?

Lol, yeah I can easily see how people remember if they saved this or that to Cortana or Alexa.. And can't wait for responses like "I can't do that yet" because you forgot to activate Alexa.
Not yet reached true integration. On PC Alexa is hosted on Cortana and on echo Cortana is hosted on Alexa. You cannot use direct voice prompt for both assistants on a single device. This was probably to done to prevent device competition. The result is an inconvenient feature, where you have to talk to one assistant in order to contact the other.
Love watching these videos and your Alexa device at home starts freaking out.
With this kind of performance, I don't see how Cortana could possibly attain the Mantle of Responsibility

I don't know why so many of you complain about Cortana, 1st off they are using Alexa's processor, and 2nd Cortana is a beast, I can set reminders, appointments, alarm clocks, schedules, whatever, and if I'm on the computer, my Xbox, my phone or around my speaker, I get notified of it, Cortana is in a lot of devices, fridges too, cars as well, and now she has made her way into the Amazon devices, in exchange allowing Alexa to be in the same places that Cortana is

4:34 so why need cortana to open alexa when it simply says the same thing as you would to open alexa yourself. So instead of "hey cortana, open alexa" just simply say "hey alexa" lol so what gives?? kinda redundant. these assistants are seemingly getting people to pronounce their speech better.

Cortona and digital assistant is not available in Canada when it comes to the amazon echo. It is November 2018, and this is still not available in Canada. Stop telling lies. They need to say from day one that these features are only available in the USA.

So you've opened a port for Cortana to remotely control devices in your house, what's the big deal? And I feel the two assistants taking unacceptly long time to response. Is there anything new worth mentioning which Microsoft assistants have achieved but Google assistant cannot do?
I don't get this .... Why? So, I'm gonna ask Alexa to manage my shopping list, then Cortana about my meetings, then what? Siri for managing my home's lights and Google for my car GPS navigation? To me all of these are already capable of managing everything within their own eco-system, isn't it? Why would I use one of these for a specific usage only? To me, this looks like something that can be very confusing and I feel like "more is less" / "this is a bit too much" here. I mean, just pick one, I'm sure you can do all you want. And actually, in real life, yes, some people are using voice command a lot, but we're still fine touching a screen or pushing a button. So if there's one of these which is not capable of certain things, well, no big deal; I have tons of other options to do what I need.

Before you start integrating other digital assistants you should try to make your own assistant a little better. Cortana on a desktop pc is a nightmare especially if you're living in Germany. I'm talking about two things here: 1. If you're talking to Cortana (in German) it just feels odd. It sounds like a robot and this doesn't make me feel like I want anything from Cortana. and 2. I really really hate the fact that Cortana still uses IE11 when she doesn't knows what to do (besides I don't want here to ask Bing or do somehting at all if she doesn't know, I just want her to know). How long are you developing edge now? And you don't get it done that Cortana opens edge? And yes I got the newest build of windows 10 that is currently available.
So maybe you should get Cortana out of Beta or just kill it and replace it with Alexa.

Cortana would give you entirely different level of performance in different regions. In place like China, where the Internet is down, Cortana is like a pre-school child compared to a teenager in the U.S. It does not know much about anything in the world, and it cannot perform many tasks.
I would strongly suggest Microsoft lift the restrictions which allow Cortana to use only local information.
First make Cortana available worldwide at least in English Language without changing any setting. Most other voice assistants are available worldwide .

Cool, but asking one to bring out the other will not make this easy. I personally think Microsoft knows just as everyone else that Cortana is far behind. I think it would be best to merge the 2 and take a small cut, but add the Cortana voice to Alexa if some choose to use it.
You guys are worried about alexa and cortana when really my harmon kardon invoke with cortana built in needs an update. I don't think microsoft fully understands what an assistant is when it comes to cortana. yea she can schedule stuff but thats about it. when i just got the invoke i had to re-iterate at least 7 times before she finally understood that i wanted to play 103.5 ktu from iheart radio. I love my cortana speaker alot i just wish an update would come to fix her and make her smarter. that's the only way they can compete with google in all honesty.

Google Assistant is the best hands down however I prefer Alexa cuz I hate saying Ok Google everytime i have wake the assistant up.
Saying Alexa is just more natural also I only use it for playing music and turning lights on and off I'm lazy af and I don't need reminders I have an excellent memory.
