    Sabaton is a Swedish metal band which is really popular here but even more so in Poland because they sing quite a bit about them during times of war. Poland is often seen as a weak country that always get occupied or defeated. However Sabaton is beloved because they recognize Poland as a proud country, unlike many other people who don't really know history, that could withstand an army 40 times larger than their own for 3 days, they sing about the "Winged Hussars", the Warsaw Uprising and heroes like Witold Pilecki (Inmate 4859). They're so loved in Poland, because they recognize their great efforts in war, that they got the (at the time, now Deputy Minister of Defense) Commander of Polish Land Forces to act as the Home Army commander in their "Uprising" music video.

    • @upursanctum
      @upursanctum 7 лет назад +24

      i agree with ur comment but i would like go add that not all people think that Poland was or is weak, indepth knowledge of the war and tactics aswell as situational awareness is essential (they were in an impossible situation). im British and have huge admiration for Poland and other Scandinavian countries during this time period. i would also like to add the big contributions of the Polish in cracking the enigma code and the free Polish fighter pilots like those in 303 squadron who fought in the Battle of Britain in defense on my country. Us Brits have always loved the underdog. its easyier to be the overwhelming force but it takes true courage to fight against the odds.
      ps: Sabaton are awesome

    • @scrapper3494
      @scrapper3494 5 лет назад

      I think the crowd reaction to Sabaton performing Ghost Division at Woodstock shows just how damned good they are - they had at least half a million Poles rocking out to a song about a Nazi unit. If that doesn't show how awesome they are I can't think of what would.

      @@scrapper3494 The Third Reich Unit*, a lot of people fighting in Wermacht wasn't nazi, they just fought for their homeland, obviously many were followers of that ideology as well, albeit the real nazi units were the Gestapo and other liquidation units.

      Jedno wiąże się z drugim. Piosenka jest wspaniale wykonana i należy jej się szacunek, tak jak bohaterom. Więc nie wiem po co tekst o bólu dupy, może sam masz gejowski ból dupy. Nie wiem po co takie porównania, przy takiej piosence.

    There are 550.000 people in that crowd, the only known festival attendance that is higher is the Moscow stop that The Monsters Of Rock Festival did at Torshino Airfield in august of 1991 where AC/DC headlined in front of and estimated 1.250.000 people (they quit counting at 850.000).

    I would like to mention two songs of the Swedes in this topic:1) "Winged Hussars " ruclips.net/video/eWkrQQly6xU/видео.html 2) " Uprising " ruclips.net/video/lZUYg4AXSpcH/видео.htmlowever. Interested in the history of Poland I recommend a film about the little-known war of 1920 (English subtitles) : ruclips.net/video/QgGtNc7B9eoI/видео.htmln 1920 the Red Army set off to conquer Europe. Stalin and Budionny commanded one front. They went to conquer the Balkans by Poland. Tuchaczewski was the second front. They were going to help the Germans revolutionized then. Threatened by Poland. Neither one nor the others passed through Poland. The Red Army was completely destroyed first in Warsaw and later in the Battle of Nemunas (today Lithuania). Stalin then stood before the communist party court. Therefore he later took revenge on the Polish officers in Katyn. That was the battle of Vienna. The half-hour charge of the Polish hussars was enough to keep the Turkish army from collapsing and over a hundred thousand Muslim troops in Europe were completely destroyed. ruclips.net/video/TdDMHZdMXc8/видео.html . Polish cavalry also met the English at Waterloo. The battle looked like this: ruclips.net/video/N0pGkXgPqTs/видео.html

    every normal Polish man knows 40:1 of Sabaton even if the do not listen music like this. Mate being under that flag is a privilege :) for us. The funny bit is Sabaton is a Swedish group and we have fought with them a lot in XVII century... There was even a condition in a Swedish army that they will not have to fight Polish Winged Hussars ever then they will join... Huge respect for Sabaton though

      A few people have requested that band and specific song. If it doesn't get done this month, since we are doing All Request Week and have a full schedule planned for next week, we will get it done for early Sept, but we will see if we can squeeze it in somehow.
