TBF that's pretty much how they lost me on the MCU, at some point between the movies, shorts, TV series on 3 different networks and retroactively involving literally every other movie they or Fox or Sony ever made, it's just way too much
That is why it is so hard to tell a friend that wants to begin reading comics, it is not as simple as Manga. Not only reading order, you have consistent Art and consistent Storytelling. Also clear and consistent Issue Numbering. Plus if there is a side story it is marked clearly as a side story either by making it a .5 issue or by having a different name that you can read if you want to learn more about it.
Alternatively, you could tell them to simply not read big two comics. There's tons of comics out there that are just one story with a beginning and end.
I remember a time that events revolved around teams and connected solo titles. If they wanted another connection to a completely unrelated character, it was a throwaway, one-issue story that had a minor tie. If you were doing an X-Men event, it was included in X-Men, X-Force, X-Factor, Wolverine, sometimes Excalibur, Cable, and what-not. Oh, and there's a minor tie-in with Spider-Man, but it's not necessary to read that. Either way, if the X-Men were dealing with something major, you knew which books to go to. A year or so later, they'd release a TPB with a list of all of the issues covered. Anymore, there are just so many characters that people consider A-tier that they HAVE to be in every major event. Some people say that it helps to connect the universe, but it makes it where the story is now mandated to be spread incredibly thin across the universe now. I'll read event books now and see characters and think wtf?! Why are they here? Not every event needs to be a Secret Wars or Infinity Saga level event. There are some amazing stories that involve one group, that I honestly don't care what Captain America thinks of this situation. Moon Knight did a story that involved many characters and was a World Changing event, but they kept it in and resolved it in the issues of Moon Knight. I think that the idea of Event Stories has been overblown to where there are events happening one right after another, even during other events. It's why I don't read events anymore. I just catch up after everything is over. I think people forget that the calm between is just as important. Otherwise, you're just having to continually ramp things up. Which gets old real quick.
It's unreal how the big two have completely dropped done-in-one simple stories. Now everything must be this groundbreaking event that changes everything with what we knew turning out to be lies. Superhero comics are like that bus from _Speed_ where If they drop below 55 mph than it explodes.
when i was looking for events and arcs to read, i noticed how every single one is described to be groundbreaking and crucial and thought it lost all meaning. i'm a new comic reader, so it's nice to know that it wasn't just a me being overwhelmed thing.
@@amorfatikhb There are only a handful of these events from the last two decades that I think are genuinely good and don't require much homework to catch up. DC: Blackest Night, Final Crisis, and Dark Knights Metal. Marvel: Annihilation, AXIS, and Spider Island.
As a newer comic fan, I thought I was crazy…love Krakoa stuff but following along seems like more trouble than it is worth…I was going to buy Alpha Flight before I watched this for goodness sake!
They retconned x23 to be a genetic daughter of wolverine so honey badger is the clone of wolverine’s daughter, its a similar thing to terry mcguinnes and bruce
I was just about to say “Isn’t the Alpha Flight team all dead or something?” but you quickly explained it away as them rebuilding. Sometimes I wish things could just stay dead in comics. I’m so tired of death having no meaning. There are no stakes and there haven’t been stakes for a long time.
King in black and venom threw me off I agree! Thanks to you my son listens to you everyday. I'm trying to give him the same joy I had as a kid growing up and the fact I can't be there to read him comic books, so we have him listen to you read series. God bless and keep up the amazing work. My son n I will stay tuned!!
theres no good reason to read these books, stop doing it and you'll be thankful for it, its just a bad brand now and has been for over a decade, it won't improve while the bad is still at the company
Fall of X is following what they did with Fall of the Mutants back in the 80's where there wasn't a real overarching story-line driving the books but there was a theme of mutants having real bad stuff happen to lead them in new directions. Marvel seems to have thought that using "Fall of" would convey this to their audience but failed to recognize all the fans whose knowledge of X-lore doesn't include that and that bit of information leaving many folks confused as to what it is and how it is supposed to work.
My brain hurts. That’s why I like the idea of ultimate Spider-Man. Too bad you can’t get the Omni bus anymore because it’s out of print because I would love to read the entire ready of ultimate Spider-Man and it’s real simple to follow
I picked up the Ultimate Spider-Man Collection. It was a Barnes and Noble exclusive that pretty much has the same contents as the first omnibus except it's missing a few extras. Definitely recommend picking it up secondhand. Cheaper than the actual omnibus.
@shinyocelot04archive I need to do that, I've been reading Miles' comics but haven't gotten to Ultimate Peter's. My only problem is that American comics are pushed to a single bookshelf compared to manga in my Barnes and Nobles.💀
@@V..v..V Comics are almost non existent at my local Books A Million. Barnes and Noble has a single set of shelves while Manga has 3 times that. Sadly this collection is out of print, but it's still cheaper on eBay or wherever than getting the Omni.
Btw, the Bobby Thing is because of the hellfire gala and remember you said that he died well. He basically got almost destroyed, but now in order to survive he constantly has to recharge himself at his Antarctic ice palace thing. So that's kind of how the two tie in together. I don't know. I just have the first issue
Omg I completely agree with everything you said! Cannot stand how marvel is mapping their events. It is a mess. I am not spending hundreds of $ a month to keep up with all these individual comics. I will either wait for the breakdown videos through your or another comics channel, or I'll catch up on marvel unlimited.
I agree about the thing of not having a core book to centralize the event being an issue. One reason why is, if there is a time when i want to go back a re-read a series and think about past events i would think about the core books and then read tie-ins that i enjoyed in the past. I would think about what event or era of comics that i would like to re-experience, but it becomes difficult if the events are too sporadic to the point when re-reading all the books involved messes with the pacing of the over-arching story i wish to re-experience. It makes some books difficult to go back to and enjoy. However if there isnt a core book series and i have to put in the extra work reading stories that only have a nod to the event, i just feel less likely to go back to read them again. But not only that, i just feel more disinterested in buying the comics as the event goes on, and more likey to read a synopsis of what happens to just know it when the event ends and we move on to the next.
I don’t like this video… I LOVE IT!!!! This is exactly what I’ve been saying!!! Some of my friends are completely boycotting the x books right now cuz of this
I find the X-Men pretty boring. Their comics for the last two decades have been about them surviving yet another attempt to wipe out Mutants. I know they're hated and feared by the world they're sworn to protect but the merry Mutants aren't saving anyone but themselves. Marvel will always pump out X-Men comics so I know Mutants won't be wiped out. The comics feel pointless.
people hate reboots in comics but tbh, the 60 years of comic history for both marvel and dc is a major turn off. And getting into a comic from a movie or tv show is very jarring to see that the interpersonal relationships are completely different because of some shit that went down in a random book back in the 70s
This garbage has been going on for years. People who are too committed to collecting everything marvel and dc put out for years are so enamored with the publishers that it blinded them to the grift. The FOMO is strong with a majority of big two readers. Glad I’m not a FANATIC.
That's wild Kinda reminds me of Secret Wars 2, if anyone read aside from Mr. Where you only really needed to read the X-Men and New Mutants tie ins. The other tie ins in the reading order are literally unnecessary
While I'm not big into comics or manga I must say that anime is a lot easier as they don't have as much history nor tie-ins/crossovers. Anime also doesn't have 10+ versions of the same character where u have to specify which incarnation
It's why I've always gravitated to B-teams or 25 issue runs. Exiles, Excalibur, X-force. The main line has been confusing for yeaaaars. My first mutant comic I read was Excalibur back when it Braddock, Pryde, Kurt and all that. Loved it. So I tried to read Uncanny X-Men and Magneto is called Joseph and Northstar is dressed like quicksilver and Black Tom is a tree. So I decided from that day on I'd keep to the b-teams
I don't know.....I saw someone else review the scene where Kitty went Murder Hobo on all the guards. Unless I missed something (like her protecting people off screen), there was NO reason for her to kill anyone, considering her power is to be untouched by anything!! She literally could have just walked away, in any direction she wanted. To me, what I have heard about the X-Men makes them more like Super Villains than anything Magneto did in his early days (unless we are talking about Ultimate Magneto.....and they are getting close there 🙄)
The entire Krakoan age of X-Men has been hard for me to get into for some reason. Everything after HoX/PoX is hard to follow. I just want to read Hickman's X-Men but I feel like I have to read the other titles to fully understand what is going on. Can I just stick to Hickman's stuff? If not, what extra titles are essential other than HoX/PoX and Inferno?
I stopped reading X-Men around the time Cyclops was shot in the head and couldn't use his beams to max without hurting himself. Then they did all the Krakoa stuff
Same, X-men used to always be my go to comic. The krakoan age however doesn't really capture the same vibe that they used to. They feel like they are framed more like how the inhumans were, a hermetic super culture of demi god elites.
I read comics all the time as a kid, but as I got into my 20s, I stopped reading because I got sick and tired of never knowing the full story. Like u said, go here. Read these pages now over here. I just started reading manga instead. When the apps came out like Marvel Unlimited, I subscribed, hoping there would be straightforward runs and stories where if u just started reading, it would put the right pages for the right places for you. But no pnce again it just has entire book line-ups, and I just got sick of finding stuff out of order and then went back to manga and youtube.
As an FGC connoisseur and a Comicbook fan I really appreciate you wearing the Street Fighter 6 merch. I think it would be really interesting if you took a dive into UDON's street fighter comics.
Cable is teaming up with Bishop. And how could you remember Cable but not remember Bishop. They're both time travels, they both come from F'ed up futures/alternate realities, they both have uniqueish power sets, really not much that separates them but...oh yeah. Nevermind. I agree with the rant.
Idk about DC, but it seems like Marvel is trying to do a MCU type of reading, where instead of just having a bunch of unrelated issues that you can just read whenever you want, as it used to and as it should, EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED. I imagine staff/editorial is even more confused than us and someone above (*cough* Disney *cough*) is telling them to do something for "brand synergy to bring in newcomers", but they don't realize this is counterintuitive, because that's not gonna make people think "wow! I'm gonna read all of these pointless issues just to follow this big event, just like the MCU", instead it's gonna make people just ignore them as usual and those that read only the tie-ins are gonna be like "why tf are there islands having s*x?!". The only other theory I can think of is that someone at Marvel has some really weird idea and everyone is just as crazy to keep doing what they want to do because Marvel just doesn't care and will let kids use their work for fanfiction and fanservice.
Idk but im pretty sure over the years he had to cut his team down and probably not by choice i don't always watch but i come back for the full storyz and watch them to go to sleep wake up and rewind it or click on a playlist same with comics explained you guys are so good at the way you do your stories and how you keep on going even if you weren't pulling in numbers as fast because i would still say you're a huge star/role model i know people who don't even like comics anymore that know you guys or people who only watch you guys like me lmao other guys videos are to short or aren't as good tbh but i just wanted to say u make alot of kid teens and young adults still have a creative mind a open mind a reason to still have what if thoughts i love it and I will always appreciate every video you post
I used to buy comics from a few series, of two very different groups (X-Men, X-Force, and Ghost Rider) many years ago, but quit as they kept doing crossover event, after crossover event as a way to try to sell more comics.
I am enjoying Fall of X, currently reading X-Men, Immortal X-Men, Invinicible Iron Man (Tony being involved makes sense if you read his books), Children of the Vault, Uncanny Avengers and Uncanny Spider-man. I was reading Jean Grey and Dark X-Men, but gave up on them after #2 since they do not impact the event at all.
im so glad people like you support the single issue market so I can choose to buy the collected edition later if it's good. then i dont have to deal with any of that reading order bullshit
Totally agree. I've felt like that for a long time. That's why I stopped buying the books and started watching channels like yours if the title sounds interesting. It was kinda like that in the late 80s, then Marvel got their crap together in the 90s. With Marvel being part of Disney now, who knows? Disney seems pretty happy with flushing money down the toilet. Maybe they're afraid of what'll happen if Daddy Walt gets his new robot body and has a gazillion dollars to spend.
This kind of complexity is something that makes these mainstream superhero stories uniquely appealing, and the creative organization involved in mapping it all out is impressive. Expecting to be handheld by a centralized title and allowed to cherry-pick what parts to read is sort of an argument in favor of more empty bloat (if there are parts you _can_ ignore, then why produce those parts in the first place?). That said, the cost of reading something like this quickly becomes outrageous. If the events keep building onto the same ongoing plotlines, that expense gets higher and higher. Who can afford this product in the long run?
Man, whats even worse: they were making the "of x" paperbacks which was a great way to gather everything going on around the event, right? Well, they freaking decided to stop doing these and now it's hell to catch up and complete my collection. That is some serious BS
Albert is part of the Marc Silvestri and Chris Claremont run from the '80's... He worked for the Nanny character as a partial-clone of Wolverine with cybernetic enhancements and the mind of a ten year old who was pivotally involved during the aftermath following Storm's resurrection after her being sucked into the Siege Perlilous in the late 80's after Nimrod was fused with Mastermold, which resulted in the death of a Senator's wife (The dude from the first X-Men Film)... Man, comic's used to be the s#!t!
Remember when onslaught did this and everyone hated onslaught becuase it made you buy everyone’s book instead of just following onslaught it’s the same thing and I understand your frustration

Marvel fell off a couple of years ago and just cant seem to fing there footing, the problem is all the people running marvel and writing the stories dont care about comics, they dont like them , never read them, there is no continuity, to many events and 0 love for characters
I feel the same way you feel. I will not buy anything from The Fall of C event except for Uncanny Spiderman. I am only buying Uncanny Spiderman just because Nightcrawler is my favorite X-men.
This guy has so much blood pressure in his voice. Love the content 😅 One Piece is just plain fun. I dont think too hard about it or try to make too much sense of the ridiculousness. American comic books forgot to be entertaining. Now they want to talk you down, preach, and act al presumptuous. I only read indie stuff. been collecting alotta stuff from Kickstarter.
I just finished age of apocalypse, coming from dc I usually read the main through line book so it was weird not having one. Just following the marvel unlimited reading order religously. It was weird. And I couldn't imagine trying to read it as it came out. However, it was beautifully done. I think one of the parts that stood out the most was how intertwined it was. I dont think you could really skip any of the series without missing a large story element. It weaves together beautifully
It isn’t about telling you a story any more. Hasn’t been for a long time. It’s about selling you a product that you can’t enjoy fully without the accessory product both of which only truly serve to hype you up for the next product. It’s just a money sink at this point.
Solution: 1. scale back event comics, maybe do one every other year, every three years maybe, give people time to get used to new characters dynamics and such, ya know. 2. Start putting recap points for what books had ***important*** plot (i.e. for Secret Empire, you need to know how Cap's brain changed, how he became head of SHIELD, and *MAYBE* the stuff involving him and Miles in Civil War II) with cited issues, that way, if people are interested, they can go read those books, then decide if they want to read the rest of those runs based on their own deep dives into the events, otherwise, just give them the basics.
How come Fall of X doesn't have any core issues like AXE Judgement Day or King in Black? Marvel needs to bring in more Core issues whenever they do events. I understand Benny's point because Marvel is still struggling with using Interconnectivity. I really need to get back at reading Comic books. So far, the only comic event I'm fixated on is Ultimate Invasion.
Because that was an actual event this is not. Fall of x just signifies the new saga we are in. So far this is the 4th krakoan saga. AXE takes places in the 3rd saga.
All of the new X-Men stuff went off the rails after X of Swords. It has all been trending downhill with the X-Men for a minute now starting with AvXvE. AvXvE was really unnecessary and feels like it was done to give the Eternals relevance. It ruined everything they were setting up with Mars/Arakko.
I indulge in tons of DC, Marvel, Manga, Manwhe, Manhwa. They are all fantastic story mediums. I see no reason to pick favorites between any publisher or region specific comics. :D
I thought the "X of Swords" title was a play on the ten of swords tarot card "The Ten of Swords indicate a major disaster of some sort. It shows that a certain force of extreme magnitude has come to hit you in your life - one that you may have not foreseen. There is a sense of betrayal that is indicated here, for the character is stabbed in the back"
I loved 80s and 90s X-Men. Nothing from current Marvel interests me. I started One Piece this month and it's great so far. Just finished East Blue. If you want a good new superhero book I highly recommend the new manga called SHY.
My honest opinion is because of the sales the sales are crappy right now so they're doing whatever sleazy tactic they can do in order to get people to buy more comic books. Like you just stated You're having more pleasure reading a manga which is kicking every single comic book butt in the US. Like a phrase that been used many times before. You have too many cooks who think they know how to make a recipe adding their preferences into the pot. I said having one cook make the recipe. If someone wants to do something different just alter it but make it a side dish.
Honestly if it wasn't for your videos I would have given up. I started coincidently with X-men by Jonathan Hickman and then I bought the following in on go : DAWN OF X / HELLFIRE GALA / HOUSE OF X - POWER OF X / IMMORTAL X-MEN / INFERNO / REIGN OF X / TRIAL OF MAGNETO / X OF SWORD. I bought them all and painstakingly tried to find somewhere on the internet where you can find a simple and clear reading-order. That's how I discovered the level of dedication required to be a true comics book reader.
I got bored and its not your fault. You explained amazingly. This Marvel series is disappointing, from description. So I dropped my earbud and let the video play out. Slovenly to waste the livelihood of a good streamer.
The reading order is so broken in Fall of X that even in the books, it will say "x weeks later" or "x months later" and ambiguous phrases similar to this. It makes it nearly impossible to figure out how to put the books in linear order, which is my preferred order for reading, but tie-ins don't always get released that way.
i was literally *just* contemplating getting into the age of krakoa comics today bc it'd be playing 4 years of catch-ups, so this is wonderful to know lol
I think I remember footnotes for comics from back in the day. Though the way things were described here, footnotes feel like they would take up half a page.
Because the one-shots seem to have patchy availability if you don't pick it up in the first 48 hours but you can still use the 'event' as the name of the trade anthology when it comes out.
Marvel never wants to own up to their mistakes. That's why Krakoa was destroyed by what's their name rather than something more fitting like civil war.
This is why I stopped reading comics. I LOVED comics but it became more like homework and boring due to all the constant EVENTS. I too read manga and the stark difference between story placement through like a dozen books…. It was all just exhausting as I got older. I want to just pick up an X-men book and enjoy the story, not having to hunt through a dozen books just to read a story that could have been like three books long.
I am long term Manga fan. Every-time I watch videos of you, Variant comics and other great creators, I so feel to get into comics but I don’t understand from where. I love X-men and sentinal story, I tried to read it but didn’t make any sense. Everytime I try to get into comics it’s just something out of the blue. Currently reading two chapters of Alpha Flight and it felt really good but most of the things are just too confusing when you are trying to get in.
Hey Benny can you cover mavel's contest of chaos?? It's the summer annual crossover event. I'd really love to hear it from your perspective!! I'll buy a bottle of your hot sauce if you do.....
Yeah I've had this issue for years, and now my budget is tight so I just stopped reading Marvel and DC. I'm reading TMNT (which just did this too, to my frustration) IDW Sonic, One Piece, and My Hero Academia. Oh and gargoyles now that it's back. I have a 20-dollar-a-month comic budget I can't so this stuff.
I stopped caring about main events/main comics frim the main 2. I love short comic books or series that have clear sequencing (mostly indies). The main 2 have no clue how to make an actually coherent main story (Characters dying one one series, appearing in another, etc.)
29:19 how come when people always point out the inaccessibility of Marvel/DC they always go to manga as an example and not other comics outside of the Big 2? It only further perpetuates the misconception that comics that aren't marvel/DC don't exist. Everything manga has done, comics from Image, Dark horse, IDW, and boom studios has done for the past 30+ years.
Because DC and Marvel.do the same thing. The trend of Boom.or Image or IDW doing jusy straight forward stories does exist. But the general public just doesn't track them. It's also more difficult to sell people on, so Nice House on the Lake. But if I say. One Piece or Dragon Ball. People instantly understand what I'm referencing and enough fans jump onto to confirm for the non fans
So they’re harder to promote is that it? Boom has done really solid minis, 5 issues long, which are easily more accessible than manga. IDW has similarly done this and have TMNT there which damn near everyone recognizes, more so than One Piece and Dragon Ball. Image is basically the go-to for creator owned work and some titles there are also known works like Saga.
Well for marvel and DC I don’t do monthly anymore. I haven’t done that for a long time. I just pick up trades or hard covers and I’ve also gone to manga
Honestly the constant resetting and crossover events are the main reason I stopped reading Marvel and DC and I just read the Transformers books. Honestly IDW 2 era wasn't all that great but at least it was a constant story that wasn't interrupted by some random event.
THIS!!!!!!!!! RIGHT HERE.......... is why I stopped reading certain books because you didn't know where something ends and starts. whixh why for years ive read manga
yeah it's reasons why I just stopped buying X-Men Comics and sadly gave no more shits about them till this is all over as Holy Shit I'm wasting money on a run that is just all over the place. it's almost getting there as the Spider-Man Clone Saga of an event for The Mutants.

To be fair, the X-men were never easy to follow when it came to their stories.
As an old fan I can confirm. This is just more of the same as far as X-Men is concerned. When was it not a big confused mess?
Wrong. Back when they had actual story arcs X-Men was easy to follow. Fatal Attractions, Bloodlines, God Loves Man Kills, X-Cutioners Song, etc.
As a newer comic fan, I thought I was crazy…love Krakoa stuff but following along seems like more trouble than it is worth…I was going to buy Alpha Flight before I watched this for goodness sake!
Don't get discouraged. The new Alpha Flight mini is good
Thanks, maybe will check it out after all
What titles are you wanting to get into? I could give you some good suggestions
I’m reading Al Ewing’s Hulk run, current X-Force/X-Men and various other books that happen to be at the library-always open to suggestions
It's garbage, they turned the X-Men into bigots and pretty much villains.
Marvel don't release 85 tie in issues for every event challenge (Level: Impossible)
Dc literally just did this with knight terrors lmao
Fr marvel 😂
@@Bungycb DC too, they ain't exempt 😅 I remember death metal
@@yourkingreturnsAll those tie ins where so exhausting to follow.
They retconned x23 to be a genetic daughter of wolverine so honey badger is the clone of wolverine’s daughter, its a similar thing to terry mcguinnes and bruce
Lame.
Honestly I don’t mind that so much. Better than making Bobby gay.
that is the dumbest retcon thing i've heard, like why ruin the most interesting thing on her
again modern writers ruining everything
@@marcusclark1339tbh, it was kinda like that from the jump considering how they made her in the first place
@@marcusclark1339that was literally her origin story she's always been the clone daughter of Logan
I was just about to say “Isn’t the Alpha Flight team all dead or something?” but you quickly explained it away as them rebuilding. Sometimes I wish things could just stay dead in comics. I’m so tired of death having no meaning. There are no stakes and there haven’t been stakes for a long time.
Kill that wish.
Videlxspopovich and the picture is wild.
Benny, I’ll be blunt. I’ve never seen you this miffed.
I JUST WANT TO ENJOY FALL OF X! NOT DO HOMEWORK LOL
That's wild
Kinda reminds me of Secret Wars 2, if anyone read aside from Mr. Where you only really needed to read the X-Men and New Mutants tie ins. The other tie ins in the reading order are literally unnecessary
This was just so disorganized, messy and exhausting... Every time I go in a store I just feel inundated with disorganization.
MANGA for life 😂
While I'm not big into comics or manga I must say that anime is a lot easier as they don't have as much history nor tie-ins/crossovers. Anime also doesn't have 10+ versions of the same character where u have to specify which incarnation
This is why I’m sticking with Radiant Black and the Massiveverse.
If you support trash they’ll keep making trash
I couldn't get into it either, all of the "of X" titles.
@@JohnClark-tt2bl It felt like it led into a big crossover every five minutes. Or you missed something crucial because you didn't read a certain book.
I can feel Benny descend into a pit of madness with this. Damn. Although I think the Hellverine thing was cool but still.
Honestly X-Men has been all over the place for so long I stopped reading a while ago.
I did forever ago, got tore up for mispronounced things lol. Vids are still up on the gaming channel though. I LOVE that story. Juri/Rashid main here
Wait you got a comic channel??
If so I want all your channel so I can subscribe
To fix your complaints they’d have to actually plan this shit and not just fly by the seat of their pants and make it up as they go along.
Benny... X-Men, Immortal X-Men, and Invincible IronMan are the core books from what I can gather.
Maybe they're afraid of what'll happen if Daddy Walt gets his new robot body and has a gazillion dollars to spend.
its a money thing, they want you to buy everything that's why they don't give you an exact cohesive story in one book.
Who can afford this product in the long run?
are mainstream comic book fans all this high on the copium?
jesus.
It’s so crazy to see Benny so much older I’ve been around since elligable monster with the cool little guitar intro the first video of his I ever watched was final crisis and I’ve been stuck ever since thank you for everything man
High energy this time around, I appreciate your work in this video.
12:57. Hey come on Benny! 😂 I ❤ the Inhumans. They got ushered off to another dimension it seems.
Marvel fell off a couple of years ago and just cant seem to fing there footing, the problem is all the people running marvel and writing the stories dont care about comics, they dont like them , never read them, there is no continuity, to many events and 0 love for characters
yes it hard to keep up but the problem is manga dont have different branching stories its just one straight line
The wolverine rant cracked me up
I like your videos you summed it up perfectly this is exactly why I stopped reading marvel comics altogether and won't go back to them.
It’s just a money sink at this point.
luv how u said the front of Manga ❤ u read them backwards jus made me def luv this channel ❤
They're not even using footnotes!? That's the absolute minimum one would need with an event.
It ruined everything they were setting up with Mars/Arakko.
i completely agree with you. I have given up on X-Men and just reading my guy Logan's book and that's it
I indulge in tons of DC, Marvel, Manga, Manwhe, Manhwa. They are all fantastic story mediums. I see no reason to pick favorites between any publisher or region specific comics. :D
It's the same problem I have with Spider-man. Marvel literally don't know what to do with the character.
I thought the "X of Swords" title was a play on the ten of swords tarot card
"The Ten of Swords indicate a major disaster of some sort. It shows that a certain force of extreme magnitude has come to hit you in your life - one that you may have not foreseen. There is a sense of betrayal that is indicated here, for the character is stabbed in the back"
Honestly, this is the exact reason I canceled my Marvel subs years ago.
Bahaha homie this is one of the best rant problem videos ever! Thank you!
In an alternate universe, there is a world where hickman gave the x-men the fantastic 4 treatment and the world is better for it.
When they used to do the status quo stuff they would put the old “see what happens next in (name comic here) readers!”
Glad to know I wasn't wrong when I assumed comic books were too complicated and all over the place
All of that is on purpose, they want to force you to buy every single comic. The industry is burning and they are scrambling for embers...
Well for marvel and DC I don’t do monthly anymore. I haven’t done that for a long time. I just pick up trades or hard covers and I’ve also gone to manga
I stopped reading marvel comics a long time ago because they keep doing my boi spider man dirty.
20:20😂!!!! FACTS. Logan is everywhere!
They've done this before.. they had to "kill" him to stop. Now, just everywhere with hot claws🙄
@@TripleCubedTriune 😭😄
I like how fans can’t decide if they hate when everything matters with event tie-ins or want everything to matter with event tie-ins 🙄
Exactly, I remember people whining and complaining when they did this with Dark Crisis and Lazarus Planet but now they love it with Knight Terrors???
People and coherence are things that don’t tend to go together
I feel ya man, I just gave up keeping up with Fall of X
Honestly the constant resetting and crossover events are the main reason I stopped reading Marvel and DC and I just read the Transformers books. Honestly IDW 2 era wasn't all that great but at least it was a constant story that wasn't interrupted by some random event.
And now we're getting a transformers comic from Daniel Warren Johnson and skybound.
American comics in general really need to update how they do things. I’d rather keep buying stuff in volumes cuz it’s easier to follow
