      Wow Ian, that made a tremendous impact on the looks.
      I see it also making for a better finish of the original roof line and upper door lines. Excellent job once again using the invisioning tools...

      When you first started I thought you where going for a Tom Daniel's Red Baron Hot-Rod (1969) style with the helmet top, but quickly realized nope. The direction you are going in will be much much better.

    I have to say, I’ve been working with fiberglass matting for years and always brushed the resin on the vehicle, put the mat on, then brushed more over it. Today I did it like you showed a few videos back, damn is that an awesome way to do it! Uses less resin and way faster! Love your show and these videos are just freaking awesome! Thank you for having the patience to teach us all some new tricks!

    Two words- Ratchet Wrench 🔧 I use them more than regular ratchets now. 🙂 Since I’m on the subject of “ratchet” I would’ve used a ratchet strap side to side around the roof to hold it while I slid it into place then pulled the strap out after both sides were in under the metal skin. I love watching you work man. I wish I was right there helping/learning/adding. Thanks for all the hard work making these videos guys. ✌️ peace

      @@fullcustomIan You are very welcome. I've been watching Ian since his first shows on tv and your YT channel is exactly what I've said forever that I wish car build shows were, "fine, that's great -- now take out the false-peril of the 'upcoming auction' or whatever bullshit and give me 20 hours of video showing the build instead of 45 minutes." Ian's always been way better than most about that, but with this channel, we're on episode 41 of the VW and it is only starting to have a roof! Awesome. So interesting. I can't believe all the projects you guys juggle, but it is so engaging watching you think and work your way through them.

    • @fullcustomIan
      @fullcustomIan  4 месяца назад +1

      @@ronjenkins8529 We really appreciate that. It is true. It is a very long process and you sometimes have to let them sit for a bit to really refine them. We are happy that our channel is finally becoming more recognized for the "what it really takes" side of building, instead of caving into a timeframe that people expect at times. It seems though, once it all starts to come together it just happens so quickly! Thank you again for your generosity and kindness.

    I see that truss being a problem hanging down from the roof. Some round tube would be adequate. Given the tube becomes shorter when bent , if its fixed securely at both ends it cant straighten , thus retaining its curve.
