I really like what you do and your family. You are a true lover of animals, and I can appreciate that. I also find it very heartwarming, that your gentle with them.
That was an unbelievable speckled king! Can’t wait until it warms up here in NJ. My daughter and I are chomping at the bit to go herping. Thank you for keeping your videos kid friendly. My seven year old daughter loves watching your videos.
We have a speckled king snake that lives on street in a subdivision. I found him in the road two house down two days ago. I got him out of the road and put him our yard. We’ve seen him in our back yard a few times over the years. We named him Spot!😀
Oh my gosh that CHONKY speckled king I am in LOVE 😍! Also I can’t believe how different juvenile racers look!! They look like lil baby corns! Also very disappointed in you Noah for not describing the big cottonmouth as “aggressive” and “chasing” your friends when he started to move 😂
'60's and '70's I was all over the US herping, stopped mid-'70's because too busy. I always wore one glove flipping not because of snakes, but because of wasps! They were everywhere under everything! Ground and wolf spiders (which I also collected), and scorpions, a favorite, as well, were prominent. Watching your vids in various locations I've noted an absence of all these things. I find this worrisome and kind of sad.
Worst thing to find under a rock, big nests of Indian wasps that nail you as you run away… I had a bunch get on my sock as a kid, they stuck in the fabric and lit me up! 15 mins and my ankle was so swollen I had to crawl away.
I love flipping weird stuff! A few days ago I flipped an Eastern Black Kingsnake in Southern Illinois underneath a thin piece of curvy tin! Awesome Video!
"Earblister and the Brown Snakes" is now trademarked. My debut album features a toy voice synthesizer and guitar but for the love of God, don't seek it out.
I use to this alot back in the 80's. Best find was a Florida king & a scarlet snake, which I let go. Kept the king. And a large Coral snake that I also kept for a year.
My buddy and I used to do the exact same thing that you guys are doing! And, like you, we had that same reaction to a speckled king snake! We used to call them salt and pepper kings!
Just subscribed, have been watching for a few weeks, love the channel man. I enjoy going herping in my area. Mostly road hunting at night here in Bakersfield CA. Get a lot of Northern Pacific's, Cali kings, gophers and blunt noses. Have seen some good legless glass lizards tho
I wish you guys would compare a ribbon snake and garter snake side by side and show us how to distinguish between them. I try to identify snakes as they pop up on yours and other videos, and frequently get those two mixed up. But, I’m a noob to arm chair herping, although as a kid growing up in Georgia and Texas, I chased, caught, and on one occasion, got caught by a snake. Yup as a 12 or 13 year old, I tried to neck a copperhead and got tagged on a finger. Fortunately it hit my knuckle and I was only mildly envenomated. The snake bite wasn’t nearly as bad as my parents wrath after it was all over, lol…
Ribbon snakes have white lips white eye spots and have a more chestnuty color to them though idk why im telling you this because i cant ever tell them apart
Absolutely awesome video. Loved every snake, still have a warm spot for the ratsnakes though. But the one's you found definitely had a lots of attitude. Lol
When I was younger I was at my grandmothers backyard. Something was strange with the grass, then I seen that it was 100’s of garter snakes. They were everywhere.
Have you ever come across a pyle of garters doing their mating thing? When i was prolly 14 or so i was just walking through the woods like i did everyday i lived in farm country in mid Michigan, first i seen one snake cruising along i stopped an i could hear leaves rustling all around me as i stood still it was prolly hundreds of garters coming in all directions like they were headed to same place and my presence didnt faze them one bit it was as if they were in a trance i could picked them all up if i wanted it was like the twilight zone an i never understood why they were doing that until gained a bit more knowledge, it was trippy snakes moving everywhere
How cool for you! Michigan resident here and I know we don't have much variety of reptiles such as the folks in the south but you give me hope as I shlep through the woods, fields this spring that I might see something different/new/amazing.
I thought that the ribbon snake catching and eating the tadpole on camera was the highlight of this video. Had some gorgeous speckled kingsnakes, though.
how many beautiful snakes ... how many reptiles and amphibians! I am a herpetologist, but I live in Siberia, there are not only species of snakes, a couple of species of lizards ... so few ... if only I could live my next life in your area ... 👍👍👍
Love your vids! Just letting you know that the garter you found at 10:17 is actually a lined snake. They are extremely underrated; you can't find much info about them. I have one, wild caught. Just letting you know for the future. Thanks for the vid!
You need to go herping in the sand dunes of the Texas gulf coast. You will find lots of big speckled kings and rattlers. Might even see a king eating a rattler like I have.
Please let me know next time you're in Louisiana. I REALLY need some kings on my land. So does my friends mom who has an "infestation" of copperheads. Please ? Thank you !!!

Ran over a pretty long black and red one two nights ago, think it was a Texas something… as the other option i looked up hasn’t been seen here since 1980. Should’ve snagged a pic
Can you imagine walking down the side of the road and seeing 4 people screaming and jumping up and down with a snake in their hands.
Its normal in FL lol
In South Georgia, yes 😂
Every speckled king I've encountered has been so docile. I love them
Really? I find them to be quite the opposite.

What’s up NFK! Those are some awesome snakes!
The ribbon snake tadpole scene was epic. I'm jealous.
Louisiana snakes seem very active. Nice job capturing the ribbon snake catching his lunch. That's probably the only one ever filmed eating a tadpole.
The little baby king shaking his tail at you!😂😂. “I am DEATH! Fear me!” Nope, you’re adorable, that’s what you are😂❤️🐍
You know you’re in Louisiana when you see everyone wearing white boots😂😂 thanks for the time you put in bro , love the vids!
why are the boots white?
Around here we call them Delcambre (or any city around the gulf) Reeboks.

That Speckled king is GORGEOUS!
I love how excited you guys all got at the Speckled King Snake
Yes, documenting the ribbon snake in the process of locating and feeding on a prey item was great!
glad to see your putting them back exactly where you found them
Amazing video Noah! Those were beautiful Speckled Kings!
“I just saw a woodcock.” I started dying! Lmfao.
Omg the ribbon snake hunting!! Amazing to get that on film! So cool.

Thanks guys. I'm getting a new appreciation for snakes.
The two king snakes at the beginning were awesome

Yes, I had a wasp get my wrist one time when doing the same thing. It happened so fast; I could do nothing to avoid it. No biggie though.

I know this is a herping channel, but fishing vids here and there would be cool to see! Didn’t know you were into fishing.
One of the best herping vids you have made in IMO
LA seems like a different country, I love our nation.

Used to live in Louisiana for 15 years. I've seen king snakes, garters, a baby cottonmouth, and even a 6 foot rat snake.
Fantastic, especially the ribbon snake
You make my day after I get your notification 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😄😄😄😄😄😄
Epic Ribbon Snake feeding footage. Well done. Just well done. :) Great video as usual. Love it.
Come to my part of Louisiana…can’t step in the woods without seeing a cottonmouth or copperhead and the occasional rattler
What part??
My buddy and I used to do the exact same thing that you guys are doing! And, like you, we had that same reaction to a speckled king snake! We used to call them salt and pepper kings!
What a great way to end the day. Awesome
Man that was really awesome that you caught that ribbon snake feeding!
I think it's adorable when a non-venomous snake shakes its tail like a rattlesnake. It makes me laugh every time.
never really knew they did that until i started watching these vids, very interesting.
That snake catching it's prey was cool. I saw a small northern water snake catch a crayfish in a small stream in WNC once.
Am I the only one that can’t help laughing when Noah gets bitten when he isn’t expecting it? E.g. “Ahhhh!!” - “Ahhhhh!!”

Well, no, it was a typical juvenile Cottonmouth.
