That Dekay's, I would have mistaken it as a garter snake. I appreciate you doing this channel because it has truly made me less afraid of meeting a snake in my yard. I think I could even identify them now. You've also made me realize that looking down isn't the only place snakes can be. That freaks me out a little but I think less so now. So thank you.

I have to wonder how many thousands and thousands of snakes I've walked by without knowing they were there. I do know I see turtles, and turtles, and turtles, like crazy down here in Florida. See Mud turtles all over the place while fishing. Snappers and Red Ear, I also saw a Pygmy Rattler down here... Only once but it was really cool little guy. it was on a concrete drive way when I saw it.

My mother and aunt were fishing in Eastern Alabama back in the early 60’s. They were walking along the bank of a dam created lake and met a game warden heading the opposite direction. Almost immediately after passing him, they heard two gun shots. Two coral snakes were apparently following them and the game warden shot them. It seems somebody had been bitten by one a few days earlier.

I wonder if it might be a hybrid, alleghaniensis X guttata back cross to alleghaniensis? The wide solid black borders are so suggestive of Okeetee.

Hello NFK. I have been watching your channel recently. Very interesting. We live in upstate South Carolina. Recently a 4 foot Kingsnake has taken up residence in our backyard I am fine with it , but, it is driving my better half crazy. I fear that I am going to have to catch him and take him elsewhere. They way you are hand catching this critters is really something. I want to catch him, put him in a pillow case and take him elsewhere. I am somewhat nervous about possibly being bitten . Any advice?

One of the ways you can catch a big snake is to grab right behind the head it won’t hurt them and you can’t get bit
