Thank you!!! Love this. I took a 1400 mile road trip to visit my family. A few hours after arriving, my switch broke. I was freaking out but installed a replacement, with upgrade, like a Warrior princess! A million thanks!
I ordered one of these for my Mk6 Jetta off Ebay. It seems in all these tutorial videos that there is an associated wire that I guess comes with the switch, but mine didn't come with any attached or extra wires. Am I going to need to source a wire to hook up or am I not understanding what's going on here?
The extra wire (black wire) is sensor for day/night and it should of came with your light switch. That wire/sensor knows when to turn on/off lights. Other than that it's plug and play.
@@Frenko1 I've looked at more videos and what I've realized today is that apparently there is a surprising amount of variation between models and years in terms of the exact setup of this switch. They're all removed the same way but the hook up system and housing for the old and new replacement switches are different from what you have in this video. I'm going to have to look around and find the exact kind of switch that fits my car
Hi not sure if you can help. I was in the process of putting my auto switch in, however stupidly i put the sensor back on the old switch. I cant seem to get it back out though, any ideas? 🤔
Thanks, Frenko!! My first VW and I'm still getting used to their method(s) of categorizing vehicles. Now I have to choose between a mass of different after market switches. LOL Every day's an adventure.
@@Frenko1 hey hows it going !! I recently got the 2017 led strip headlights on my 2016 jetta, and my led strip isnt lighting up but everything else works, would that be due to that switch you changed out? Please i need help!!
No, it has nothing to do with the switch. It's in your wiring. Try to get in touch with the company that sold you and see if they can provide you with which wire I what. You might have to change some wiring pins in your headl8ght connector.

How do you get it so the DRL light is always? When the headlights on or off
@acevisionmedia Light switch comes with sensor for lights to turn on and off.
Does the DRL still work as usual (off when e brake on and the light up when you release it)
It's my friend's car so I'm not really sure. Sorry
Mine has a big plug in and I can't find it
Does anyone know if this will work for a MK 6.5 2015 Jetta?
Not sure
