Jesus finally a decent video. Thank you so much for this. Tried and tried and better tried to do this, a friend warned me when I bought the car this would be a shitty job. Your video has saved me, honest to god. Man I hope you have the luck of 1000 stars brother. ✌🏾
I hate it when the first step in changing a headlight bulb on my Chevy Tahoe is taking off the front wheels and half the front end. You know it's going to be a loooong day for a stinking light bulb... lol
Bumper cover doesn't need to be removed or loosened. Once loose, push headlight assembly in and up and it will clear the upper lip of the cover. Unplug the harness and it comes out.
Good video thanks ! , totally helped me do the same exact job , the little bulbs inside the highbeam lens are called city lights if you didn't know ?, again great video !
Great vid. But damn. Just to chamge a bulb. We all know its overengineered. Today i actually tried to access the housing by removing the wheel well. Obviously, had to removr the wheel and countless screws for all the plastucs. Once i had access. I still couldnt rotate the socket. Gonna have to go have this route. Thanks for the assist ahead of time. At the dealer a couple years ago, they wanted 280 to replace that bulb on the other side. Rediculous. Thx for the upload..
***EASIER PLEASE READ*** On the housing bolt facing forward, take out the bolt, grab a 19mm socket and loosen the sleeve that bolt just came out of. Wiggle and jiggle. Housing will come out and you don’t have to touch the bumper
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the headlight connector off. I've spent nearly 45 minutes (longer than it took me to actually REMOVE the headlight) trying to figure out how to get the harness off. I've pushed, pulled, moved tabs, broke tabs, and the shit has not budged a single millimeter. Extraordinarily frustrated. Watched multiple videos of people removing them with ease single-handedly, read forum posts, nothing works.

Great video. Every other video I have seen they are pulling the whole bumper off; your video would save time.
This video rocks!! Thanks so much homie. I had dropped my DRL into the headlight assembly
My headlights just went ill be using your video for inspiration this weekend. Cheers buddy
Ty for video, this really helped me and was helpful

If you got small hands this job would be ok but for the trouble removing the headlight is easier
I hate working on these VWs. My girl has one so that means I have to work on one lol thanks for the tips.

That didn’t work
@@kaydenwheeler9111 why? İsnt it comes out?
Might be difference between the mk6 and mk6.5
For my mk6 I did not need to remove the bumper
Thx for tip I need to do ome side . Trying it today or tomorrow

Ahhh, the joys of working on newer cars. Its all the things you have to remove just to get to what you are replacing.😠😠
Yes I helped a friend change his.
The gas engine version has more room to access the light bulbs. 2010 Jetta Sportwagen
I did it and I’m still struggling which way do I turn it to take it off
Changing a heat coil in an Escort = 4 hours for me. Changing a lightbulb in a Jetta = 15 hours for me.
Next project: rewire the Jetta trunk harness.
Does anyone know what the second tool is? What size?

Super easy thank you
Cant find the radio fuze or the headlamps too
I'm surprised you don't need to take the engine out
Jerry, give me a !960- 1970 car or truck any day to change headlight or repair anything lol.. Thanks for video my friend
I might do this on my passenger side. I can’t for the life of me get my hand in there to remove the DRL bulb that burned out.
There are only 4 bolts on the bottom and the bumper would be off anyways

The struggle is real, spray some WD40 on the fitting
@@TestDontguess ended up getting it off after doing that, and finding another plug nearby to understand the clip better. Crazily designed clips!
Moore space man there was plenty no need remove
I hate this car
Poor design… why just to change a bulb
good for people with small hands to change the lights, if you got big mitts then it's easier just to remove the headlight
Well I'm changing the headlamp assembly and bulbs.. my jetta is gonna look nice with tinted headlamps
What s horrible design. Whoever designed that should not have been an engineer.
If a person has child like hands you can replace the lights without removing the headlight housing
Lol bro a mechanic would charge you like 4-500$ to do that. What you mean it’s not a lot of work?
