The Michelle Williams puzzle is beautiful. It occurred to me watching this video that the reason puzzles have traditional cuts nowadays is because they interlock much better that way and the way that the MW puzzle is cut makes that impossible. Still, I think that brand, from what I can tell here, is very interesting. I like the piece cut challenge of not knowing the surrounding areas. I've heard quite a lot about Liberty Puzzles and if you ever get the chance to put one of those together, I think it would be a popular video. Flower.

I think you should try one of the Unidragon puzzles it’s also a wooden puzzle I want to get one but funds are tight right now but that will be my choice for my first wooden puzzle purchase.
The first puzzle- Although it does make it harder that all pieces are cut along the edges of shapes of the image I find it more easthetically pleasing.
I didn't see if anyone mentioned Artifact wooden puzzles? They have crazy shaped pieces, along with the special ones: birds, cats, things that go with the theme of the image. I have a puzzle from them that has no border exactly. It's an image of super cute owls, and the whole top of the puzzle is shaped like FLOWERs!
I have a double sided wooden puzzle I found on eBay with the Lord of the rings map on one side and a scene from the Hobbit on the other, it's a lot of fun to put together
Really enjoyed this video, thanks. My son lives in Paris and he has purchased several of Michele Wilson's puzzles for me. I have even been fortunate enough to visit one of the stores and watch them cut the puzzles! They are very different from doing interlocking puzzles, but very rewarding when finished. I have framed my first 1000 piece, Monet's The Bridge at Argenteuil. The one thing I wanted to point out is that if you do lose a piece, they will recut it for you, for a fee. They are very responsive to email.
That's what I'd want too! I am currently putting together a Unidragon knockoff of the lion's head. I have heard Unidragon pieces are often broken and the image is messed up sometimes, but I've never had one myself. But oh man, is it taking me forever! I can get about 10-15 pieces done per hour. Haha. It's rough.

I have not tried Puzzle Michele Wilson yet, but your review was helpful in deciding whether to try one. I really love the whimsy pieces in the Wentworth puzzles - the flower is a fun one. I like it when you find bikes or animals too. I also highly recommend Nautilus Puzzles and Artifact Puzzles. They both are California companies and do a good job alerting you when a puzzle is back in stock. And because they are in California, they ship pretty fast.
The wentworth puzzles look really cool, I’d love to try one. But I wouldn’t feel good about spending that much on a puzzle so I’ll probably just live vicariously through your videos. 🌸
I’m intrigued by the Liberty Puzzle Company (I’ve had my eye on “Portofino, Italy”). I think the finished puzzle could be beautifully framed as a legit piece of art. Tried to figure out how to fit “flower” in my comment, but couldn’t 🤗
Omg u were right about Gradient puzzles... They are WAY easier! It took me a day to finish the half and another day and a half to finish the other half! (Btw my gradient puzzle has like lines and it's not in a order) Edit: Normally it takes me 5-6 days to finish a 1000 puzzle
I only do wooden puzzles -- Liberty and Nautilus, hands down. Liberty is my favorite, but Nautilus is also wonderful. I adore them to bits, but yeah they are expensive as hell. They do however lock together decently and have absolutely beautiful whimsy pieces. If you ever get one of Liberty's, I'd LOVE to see you do the dragon. If you're curious about Nautilus, they have an amazing Prague clock face that was so, so beautiful. There are absolutely NO traditional piece shapes, though -- both will eat several hours. BTW, I think you should think about starting a line of puzzles -- Hevesh5 did that with dominoes. Run a business plan and see what happens. (Flower, BTW. :-D)

Mine have so far come from car boot sales, and they are often really cheap there because the seller doesn't realise how expensive they are to buy new :)

Loved the specialty shapes, especially that flower piece. And oh, the aroma of the wentworth must have been so cozy and christmas-y! Please do more of these so we can give wooden puzzles as gifts, with confidence..

I was staring at it in awe bc I’d never seen puzzle pieces that looked like that. I reached out to touch one (bc the texture looked interesting to me) and, just from barely touching one piece, I undid like half of their progress and was scrambling to put it back the way they had it 😂 I’ve always wanted a Puzzle Michele Wilson puzzle though. The shapes are so intriguing! I’ve done a couple Wentworth puzzles (recommended to me by those same neighbors) and they’re really fun and satisfying to do. I definitely recommend.
Hi Karen, great review as always. After watching this I decided to order a Wentworth wooden puzzle and I was extremely pleased with the product. I got the “Japanese Maple” 500pcs. It was fun to make and it looks fantastic once it is finished. It did take me more than your 90 minutes (almost 8 hours) but the image is quite difficult. I am sure you would love the challenge of putting it together! And, one of the specially shaped pieces is a FLOWER!
I really enjoy doing wooden puzzles. I have done quite a few Wentworth's, and my favorite ones are the ones that are not square in shape. I have done one that is in the shape of a dragon and one in the shape of a fish, both of which are really cool. My other favorite wooden puzzle company is Unidragon. Their puzzles tend to be smaller and perhaps even pricier than Wentworth's, but every one is shaped like an animal and filled to the brim with whimsies, with flower whimsies, mushroom whimsies, leaf whimsies, and animal whimsies. There is also a whimsey in the shape of their logo in every puzzle, which is a cool touch. Their boxes are particularly neat, as they are laser cut in the same way as the pieces.
I recently tried a wooden puzzle brand “Huadada” and the pieces hold together so well that you can pick the entire puzzle up and move it to any area and it stays nice and solid. Love your channel. 🌺 flower

I bought a Wentworth puzzle (Possessing A Most Irrational Sense of Optimism) in December 2020. I finally started to put it together today, February 24, 2021. I loved sorting out the pieces, the graphics are very pretty, and I love the whimsy.. it's is very satisfying visually and functionally.. This puzzle makes me happy❤️❤️❤️!
Two quality-content puzzles in one quality-content video. You somehow keep getting better with the way you explain, present and review the puzzles. As a kid I always wanted to make my own jigsaw puzzle and I still haven't til this day (21 currently) but my 10 years older sister had a school project in... I think middle school or so?- where she had a plate of wood that she drew a picture on and then cut out puzzle pieces from it. She wanted to throw it away at some point because shes not that much into jigsaw puzzles, so I asked if I can not just have it instead. The pieces are quite large, a bit thin, I would say one is close to as big to cover the palm of my hand, the image is simple, dark blue sky, some green grass area with an animal (I think a bunny?) and *flowers.* The closest I've gotten to making my own jigsaw puzzles was that I would take cardboard biscuit packagings and cut the front cover with a scissor if it had some variety and a nice picture to it. But usually I was very lucky to often get new 1000 piece puzzles in my childhood as everyone thought "wow he puts the pieces together so fast, and it probably is good for his hand-eye-coordination, we'll just keep gifting new ones to him". Which brings me to one more thing I would like to mention. You always destroy the puzzles after putting them together. This sometimes hurts me to look at. :D When I finish a puzzle I will check how many pieces horizontally and vertically fit into the box and then disassamble the puzzle in big rectangles and layer the large chunks on top of each other inside the box. I can't destroy a puzzle just like that. Thats only ok with puzzles where I don't have the box for anymore. Then I'll disassamble then into a small plastic bag and seal it with a rubber band. Ok small offtopic but yeah - once again, really cool video, thanks for all of your efforts and helping the puzzle community grow *!* (had to edit this 2-3x due to mistakes, oof)
I love wooden puzzles, my three favorites have been mentioned Liberty, Nautilus and Artifact. But I have also done a Peaceful Wooden Puzzle and the most expensive wooden puzzles I have seen (can't afford one) are Stave Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles made in Vermont. Love all flowers!
Now I kinda want a wooden puzzle with the majority of pieces being flower-shaped. And lotsa flowers on the picture, of course. BTW, wanted to say a very big thank you to Karen. I actually never picked up puzzles since childhood and then RUclips gets me this channel recommended. Now I'm back in the game and already started my new collection. The biggest pain is when your cats lose a piece for you forever.
I just got a 500 piece Wentworth for my birthday and it’s so pretty!! I’m so excited to make it today. ☺️ This video inspired me to ask for it as a birthday gift. I just had to rewatch this video because of it. Haha!
I think so as well. I have the French one and it is super satisfying to put together. I got it as a gift and was a bit bummed when I received it but then I loved putting it together and adored the final image!
I love the look of those 2 puzzles and especially the Wentworth one with the special shaped pieces, like the bicycle and flower. However, I do not think I will ever purchase either one because for that price, I could purchase LOTS of cardboard puzzles. Glad you have it though- you certainly deserve to have the best!!!

I really love Wentworth puzzles. Recently I completed a 750 pieces one (Old Flint Cottage) and it was really satisfying, much more than standard puzzles.
I did a wooden puzzle from Liberty Puzzles and it was very cool! No flower pieces in that one, I don’t think. It would be fun to watch you review a wooden puzzle that’s in a non-rectangular final shape!
I've only done one Wentworth puzzle, but it was really the most satisfying puzzle I've ever done. We have it in a frame where you can see the specialty pieces in the back. Some really neat ideas in it

You should do a puzzle backwards/flipped over. What I mean is doing a puzzle but you can only see the cardboard side. You can only see the picture on the box and when you pour out the pieces, then you start flipping the pieces over
Greetings, A question about Michele Wilson Puzzle. I'd like to buy one but i have a doubt yet - and since they are expensive, looking for adivce first. They claim they are "way harder than normal puzzles"... but is this really true ? At first sight It looks "easier" ? 1) straight forward to complete "objects" on picture - ex : on normal puzzle you have let say "1/3 blue + 1/3 white + 1/3 ground " , you first have to figure out where it can be... on multiples white/blue people... here if you have a blue jacket, its a blue jacket, you know instant what & where it is. 2) Since pieces are kinda uniques, you can "unblock" very easily ? Ex if you need a piece that looks like a "T", you eliminate most possibilities .. then following the T shape, a U shape, and so on. Compare this to a 2* 10 blue sky with H traditionnal ? Which is harder ? 3) Is there another company that build such type of puzzle ? I dont find any ? ps : I've done a Wentworth Puzzle and love it. In 2 words : i hesitate to buy a Michel Wilson because it seems "easier". Tell me i am wrong :) Thanks
Ok "FLOWER" Here's what I think. The Michele Wilson is really expensive but a truly unique old-school luxury item, hand crafted to confuse and trick you. The Whitworth is a mass-produced laser cut puzzle with the exact same laser design regardless of image and ridiculously overpriced despite being less expensive than a comparable Wilson. Whitworth could likely make a reasonable profit at a third of that and they are unwise to sell at that high price. The industrious Chinese are going to copy them and eat their lunch! I think that laser and waterjet cut wooden (or whatever) puzzles are the future for the industry but they need to combine the artisanal cutting of the Michele Wilson into the cutting programs making each cut uniquely challenging and matched to the image. Then market them reasonably so people that like puzzles can afford to purchase and collect them. Karen, you should start designing and selling your own line of puzzles YOU like. That is EXACTLY how Michele got started 30 years ago but he refuses to automate the production process because he's an "arr-teest!" lol. Disclosure: Michele is a old friend from my Paris years that I really admire.
Do you know if KAAYEE & Woodbest make the exact same wooden puzzles? Or do they get them from same distro? Both companies have multiple wooden puzzles that are exactly the same yet both claim they each make them!
(Very) random observation, but I found it really interesting just how many pieces of the first puzzle were image-side down after you had just tipped them out of the plastic bag. That’s it! I did warn you that it was random. Flower 🌺
I really don't understand why the first puzzle ( by Puzzle Michele Wilson) doesn't come with a wooden frame or support of the exact measurements of the puzzle, like some wooden childrens' puzzles, ideally with a felted bottom. That would minimize the problems of the pieces moving around.

Have you ever tried stained glass “Disney” *_Tenyo_* puzzle? The pieces are plastic and the whole puzzle can lift and be set against the window. The high count Disney stained glass one was so enjoyable and beautiful

Would love a 1000 piece wentworth puzzle but there sooo expensive but for a high quality puzzle and hard work going into them I see why there in the 300.00 to 200.00 mark
I had puzzles made of wood as a kid. Though they were made for kids, so the purpose of them was that you didn't bend (or eat) the pieces. They really weren't the best of quality though. In kindergarten they had a wooden puzzle too. It was made up of different shapes, animals etc. that were interlocking. Although me and my best friend played more with the individual pieces rather than the entire puzzle. It was fun to make but it was more fun to give each shaped piece a pokemon-like sound and just have fun with them while the other kids treated us like retards. 😆
me and my family did a wooden puzzle that had letters on the back a-h and the only way we could build it was if we looked on the back bc it was in a gradient and was 1000 peices and it had a lake and the lake reflected all the colors so it was so hard to decipher if it was part of the lake or the part above the lake and it took us 3 days to do if we had not of cheated we would not of got it done this summer
My daughter and I just did a mini wooden puzzle from Dowdle tonight. The imagine was fall themed so the campfire smell only added to the experience. lol
Have you done any of the ensky acrylic puzzles that look like stained glass? They also make a 3d one that makes a small planter/pencil holder. Also wanted to add a cute note my daughter and I watched some older videos and she got excited for a giveaway but it was months later. It was cute she got excited for the puzzle.
Even though I do not own or do puzzles I still enjoy your videos and happiness towards puzzles so I'm really glad I found an amazing channel I can watch to keep me happy and busy

I really enjoy doing wooden puzzles. I have done quite a few Wentworth's, and my favorite ones are the ones that are not square in shape. I have done one that is in the shape of a dragon and one in the shape of a fish, both of which are really cool. My other favorite wooden puzzle company is Unidragon. Their puzzles tend to be smaller and perhaps even pricier than Wentworth's, but every one is shaped like an animal and filled to the brim with whimsies, with flower whimsies, mushroom whimsies, leaf whimsies, and animal whimsies. There is also a whimsey in the shape of their logo in every puzzle, which is a cool touch. Their boxes are particularly neat, as they are laser cut in the same way as the pieces.
I recently tried a wooden puzzle brand “Huadada” and the pieces hold together so well that you can pick the entire puzzle up and move it to any area and it stays nice and solid. Love your channel. 🌺 flower

I bought a Wentworth puzzle (Possessing A Most Irrational Sense of Optimism) in December 2020. I finally started to put it together today, February 24, 2021. I loved sorting out the pieces, the graphics are very pretty, and I love the whimsy.. it's is very satisfying visually and functionally.. This puzzle makes me happy❤️❤️❤️!

Two quality-content puzzles in one quality-content video. You somehow keep getting better with the way you explain, present and review the puzzles.
As a kid I always wanted to make my own jigsaw puzzle and I still haven't til this day (21 currently) but my 10 years older sister had a school project in... I think middle school or so?- where she had a plate of wood that she drew a picture on and then cut out puzzle pieces from it. She wanted to throw it away at some point because shes not that much into jigsaw puzzles, so I asked if I can not just have it instead. The pieces are quite large, a bit thin, I would say one is close to as big to cover the palm of my hand, the image is simple, dark blue sky, some green grass area with an animal (I think a bunny?) and *flowers.*
The closest I've gotten to making my own jigsaw puzzles was that I would take cardboard biscuit packagings and cut the front cover with a scissor if it had some variety and a nice picture to it. But usually I was very lucky to often get new 1000 piece puzzles in my childhood as everyone thought "wow he puts the pieces together so fast, and it probably is good for his hand-eye-coordination, we'll just keep gifting new ones to him".
Which brings me to one more thing I would like to mention. You always destroy the puzzles after putting them together. This sometimes hurts me to look at. :D
When I finish a puzzle I will check how many pieces horizontally and vertically fit into the box and then disassamble the puzzle in big rectangles and layer the large chunks on top of each other inside the box. I can't destroy a puzzle just like that. Thats only ok with puzzles where I don't have the box for anymore. Then I'll disassamble then into a small plastic bag and seal it with a rubber band.

I love wooden puzzles, my three favorites have been mentioned Liberty, Nautilus and Artifact. But I have also done a Peaceful Wooden Puzzle and the most expensive wooden puzzles I have seen (can't afford one) are Stave Wooden Jigsaw Puzzles made in Vermont. Love all flowers!

BTW, wanted to say a very big thank you to Karen. I actually never picked up puzzles since childhood and then RUclips gets me this channel recommended. Now I'm back in the game and already started my new collection. The biggest pain is when your cats lose a piece for you forever.

I think so as well. I have the French one and it is super satisfying to put together. I got it as a gift and was a bit bummed when I received it but then I loved putting it together and adored the final image!
I love the look of those 2 puzzles and especially the Wentworth one with the special shaped pieces, like the bicycle and flower. However, I do not think I will ever purchase either one because for that price, I could purchase LOTS of cardboard puzzles. Glad you have it though- you certainly deserve to have the best!!!

I love my wooden puzzles. I get mine from Stumpcraft puzzles. They are definitely hard to put together, due to their shapes.

I've only done one Wentworth puzzle, but it was really the most satisfying puzzle I've ever done. We have it in a frame where you can see the specialty pieces in the back. Some really neat ideas in it

You should do a puzzle backwards/flipped over. What I mean is doing a puzzle but you can only see the cardboard side.
You can only see the picture on the box and when you pour out the pieces, then you start flipping the pieces over

A question about Michele Wilson Puzzle. I'd like to buy one but i have a doubt yet - and since they are expensive, looking for adivce first.
They claim they are "way harder than normal puzzles"... but is this really true ? At first sight It looks "easier" ?
1) straight forward to complete "objects" on picture - ex : on normal puzzle you have let say "1/3 blue + 1/3 white + 1/3 ground " , you first have to figure out where it can be... on multiples white/blue people... here if you have a blue jacket, its a blue jacket, you know instant what & where it is.
2) Since pieces are kinda uniques, you can "unblock" very easily ? Ex if you need a piece that looks like a "T", you eliminate most possibilities .. then following the T shape, a U shape, and so on. Compare this to a 2* 10 blue sky with H traditionnal ? Which is harder ?
3) Is there another company that build such type of puzzle ? I dont find any ?
ps : I've done a Wentworth Puzzle and love it.
In 2 words : i hesitate to buy a Michel Wilson because it seems "easier". Tell me i am wrong :)

You should try liberty puzzles
Ok "FLOWER" Here's what I think. The Michele Wilson is really expensive but a truly unique old-school luxury item, hand crafted to confuse and trick you. The Whitworth is a mass-produced laser cut puzzle with the exact same laser design regardless of image and ridiculously overpriced despite being less expensive than a comparable Wilson. Whitworth could likely make a reasonable profit at a third of that and they are unwise to sell at that high price. The industrious Chinese are going to copy them and eat their lunch! I think that laser and waterjet cut wooden (or whatever) puzzles are the future for the industry but they need to combine the artisanal cutting of the Michele Wilson into the cutting programs making each cut uniquely challenging and matched to the image. Then market them reasonably so people that like puzzles can afford to purchase and collect them. Karen, you should start designing and selling your own line of puzzles YOU like. That is EXACTLY how Michele got started 30 years ago but he refuses to automate the production process because he's an "arr-teest!" lol. Disclosure: Michele is a old friend from my Paris years that I really admire.
Do you know if KAAYEE & Woodbest make the exact same wooden puzzles? Or do they get them from same distro? Both companies have multiple wooden puzzles that are exactly the same yet both claim they each make them!
(Very) random observation, but I found it really interesting just how many pieces of the first puzzle were image-side down after you had just tipped them out of the plastic bag.

I really don't understand why the first puzzle ( by Puzzle Michele Wilson) doesn't come with a wooden frame or support of the exact measurements of the puzzle, like some wooden childrens' puzzles, ideally with a felted bottom. That would minimize the problems of the pieces moving around.

Have you ever tried stained glass “Disney” *_Tenyo_* puzzle? The pieces are plastic and the whole puzzle can lift and be set against the window. The high count Disney stained glass one was so enjoyable and beautiful

Would love a 1000 piece wentworth puzzle but there sooo expensive but for a high quality puzzle and hard work going into them I see why there in the 300.00 to 200.00 mark
I had puzzles made of wood as a kid. Though they were made for kids, so the purpose of them was that you didn't bend (or eat) the pieces. They really weren't the best of quality though.
In kindergarten they had a wooden puzzle too. It was made up of different shapes, animals etc. that were interlocking. Although me and my best friend played more with the individual pieces rather than the entire puzzle. It was fun to make but it was more fun to give each shaped piece a pokemon-like sound and just have fun with them while the other kids treated us like retards. 😆
Wentworth do puzzle for gift shops in the UK. I have a couple I bought when I was young. They are very nice. I think they have themed shapes. Flower.
I would love to see a review of Unidragon puzzles. Their puzzles are not rectangular, and it looks like most of the pieces have interesting shapes.
me and my family did a wooden puzzle that had letters on the back a-h and the only way we could build it was if we looked on the back bc it was in a gradient and was 1000 peices and it had a lake and the lake reflected all the colors so it was so hard to decipher if it was part of the lake or the part above the lake and it took us 3 days to do if we had not of cheated we would not of got it done this summer

My daughter and I just did a mini wooden puzzle from Dowdle tonight. The imagine was fall themed so the campfire smell only added to the experience. lol
Have you done any of the ensky acrylic puzzles that look like stained glass? They also make a 3d one that makes a small planter/pencil holder. Also wanted to add a cute note my daughter and I watched some older videos and she got excited for a giveaway but it was months later. It was cute she got excited for the puzzle.
