This is the greatest rendition of Auld Lang Syne I've ever heard! ..... reminds me of the version used in several films, including "when harry met sally".

One hour to 2018 in Paris, where two Americans are sipping Champagne and wishing all a happy, healthy, prosperous and safe new year. In the early 1960s, my Scots pen-friend from Dumfries sent me a 45 rpm record of Andy Stewart, and I wish I could tell her how much I have appreciated our long-ago correspondence. Thank you, Jean Ramus.

By far the best version available on RUclips! To all my English friends please take note: the pronunciation of AULD not OLD, and the correct singing of 'For auld lang syne' NOT 'for the sake of...' I dont know who started that, but please God stop!! Perhaps a minor point, but notice as well that the songs tells you when to join hands - please don't do it from the beginning! Here endeth the rant. 'A Guid new year to ane an' a'

    • @maggieclowes8374

and it's 'syne' with an 's', not 'zyne'

I remember Cherie Blair grabbing the Queen's hand at the Millennium Dome, HM looked seriously nonplussed: she'd obviously know the correct time to take hands.

Nice to hear it sung correctly! Unlike the English who insist on singing "for the sake of" and joining hands from the beginning rather than listening for the appropriate time! Can't tell you how many Hogmanay disputes I've had over it!
