All about what one wants in a truck but I've been in them all for work. I'll take the Ram any day towing. The Ford is nice but the air suspension and exhaust brake on the Ram is something Ford can't compete with. Our Ford exhaust brake is about non existent compared to our Ram. Our shop guys are always working on the Ford's compared to the Ram. I liked the Ram so much, I just bought a 21 Ram 3500 HO laramie. Love it. I'm not brand specific at all, I just bought what I thought was best at the time. The guy who has the I'm an operator channel is spot in with a lot he says. They are all capable trucks... Except the GM's, just kidding, we just sold the last GM truck we had and won't be getting more. I'd like to see you towing with a Ram 3500. Never ever an issue with the brakes but I hear you on the wide track like on the few 4500s we have. I've never seen you give the ram a chance towing. Let's see a comparison
The entire Ford ' drive train' (engine trans tuning) is far superior to the RAM. If you've towed with both then its pretty apparent. The only thing RAM has going for it is the interior.
The 2020+ ford pulls much better than the new ram. I will say the exhaust brake is better on the Ram. But for power getting to the ground the new Ford is a beast. And yes I have had both. A 19 Ram deleted and now a 20 ford not deleted. Ford hands down pulls better.
@@jakeshupe79 what's your definition of "pulls better?" is it "faster"? Sure, maybe. But as for stability, durability, overall power band, exhaust brake/stopping goes to ram. F350 to 3500 drw goes to ram. Ford has to get the f450 to match the f350. We have 36 trucks and the rams are getting it done. You should see a 20 Ford SD being worked on now in the shop. 2nd time in the last two months. Cabs off etc. Another is having trans issues and another is having cp4 issues. These are oil rig trucks and are being worked day in and and out. I'm not dogging the Ford. I just choose ram and you choose ford. Nothing wrong with that.
@@cnetate I two used to be a loyal Ram guy. But after my 19 I will not be buying another one. The aisin transmission shifted horribly. It also wouldn't quit using oil. It would use at least a quart between oil changes. I have 30k on my 2020 ford and not one single issue. But like you said to each there own. I have been over impressed with my new f350.
Great 👍 towing rig ! I just picked a 2021 F-350 STX 7.3 gasser Godzilla 4.30 gears ⚙️ 10 speed . The truck can gooseneck 20K Lbs . Honestly I’ll never be close to that maybe 15K tops . You certainly have a need for the F-450 Diesel 👍
That was a good video brother. Sounds and looks like Ford fixed the engine braking compared to the 2020. If I remember right same had moved the load forward of ramp and put the boom on the ramp and it fixed the tugging issue. Little man is going to have an awesome setup when he starts driving.
Sick setup #workplaytv. I really like the look of the F-450. Also like how you take angles with a nice surrounding. Wish I had the need/money to own one of those Ford beasts.
Another great video man! 👍 Thanks for posting this! In the 2022 F350 Dually Platinum or Limited FX4 I'm looking to buy, I originally wanted the 3.55 gearing... Being that the F450 has 4.30 gearing and seems to work well, I decided I want the 4.10 gearing in the F350 I'll be looking to buy. These trucks have 10-gears, so the 4.10 & the 4.30's seem like a great match. I'm sure the 3.55's are fine, but I'd rather have the better acceleration and pulling ability the 4.10's offer vs the 3.55. I'm still going to drive both when the time comes to buy a slightly used '22 model later this year. Anyway, best of luck with your amazing F450 man! Such an amazing truck!!
Am curious how can u tell what gear u are in on an automatic transmission, do u have an indicator that shows u that, because i paused the video and i failed to find it.

Alright, you’re probably fine for 85-90k. How are you liking the 7.3? I was looking 2020 F350 Cab and chassis with a landscape dump body and a 7.3, I’m not sure that rig would need a diesel. I don’t think it would rack up that many miles a year, probably 30-35k. But I’m not sure about the 7.3, I hate the diesel price tag and short tripping diesels are terrible for them. I would run short equipment hauls, GVWR most of the time, underbody snow scraper, front V blade and a wing plow. That’s about it, if the 7.3 is a great engine I’ll gladly take one. If not I guess I’ll get the PowerStroke
F350 DRW is a better tow rig, F450 has bigger brakes, and commercial tires so better when it comes to things like hotshot trucking. The F450 has a tighter turning radius but much worse fuel economy with the insanely low gearing. I’d say if you’re not trucking or running through drive troughs every day. F350 is better. F350 SRW is the best daily by far. The 450 will destroy it in goose every time
@@robfite6909 no idea off the top of my head. I’d imagine pretty big, the F450 is on 4.30 gears and the F350 is on 3.55s. The F450 has more aero drag and has more wheels on the ground meaning more friction.
