Best and most informant vids iv seen...Iv been shooting Metalmags this past couple of weeks and found them to be extremely accurate (Air Arms S510 EX ) but im finding it impossible to find another tin in North Ireland in .22 so im thinking the Hornets could be a good alternative and easier sourced so thank you for your great vids!!
Another great video, Donnie. You ticked all the boxes for me and like you, I find myself shooting more H&N than anything else. Thanks again for your work!
Cool channel man, you just got another subscriber. Great in-depth reviews and content. Thanks for putting in the hard work and saving the rest of us time and money on our pellet choices.
This is my favorite video on the .22 hornets. I like how the lower powered air gun is used. My diana model 34 classic .22 air rifle shoots the hornets at about 13 to 15 foot pounds of energy and a velocity of about 600 to 650 feet per second and the hornets are generally the most accurate pellet with my kind of gun and give the best penetration and expansion with it. Shooting a 1x4 pine board with them really tears through the board and tears it up. It isn't a bad price for what I get from them because it roughly equals for a tin of 200 hornets what 200 .22lr cartridges would cost and they do almost as much damage and give just as good of accuracy from 25 yards away or less as a .22lr
Thanks for this review donnie.Between this review on the H & N Hornet and your last you have opened my eyes on these tipped hollow points,I always thought these were just another fancy pellet made to make profit on the public.WOW!!! Going to order these asap and try them out.Keep posting the chrono results,I have never purchased one of these but for these pellet test the info is needed 100%.If these work as good in my elite as they do yours, the raccoons on my property are in for a real treat.Keep making the videos.
Oh I will let you know...I am in the process of setting up a downstairs range also...gotta get the safety things set up first so the wife understands...ha ha...as long as I aim away from the fireplace mantle...that's another story though...can't wait to get a racoon hide up beside my deer mounts, you know what I mean...keep up the good shared info...you don't know what it means for someone to take the TIME for someone to do all of that and process a video to share for people to gather info for the good of the hobby.
"I always thought these were just another fancy pellet made to make profit on the public.WOW!!!" Profit is a good thing. We would still be living in the dirt with out it and our free market. If you discover where that mentality you learned comes from, it comes from communism, that hates your free market and your individual opportunity in it. The free market was created by free people, and it got mankind out of poverty, which can only happen with free minds in our free market. If you think anybody makes too much profit in an industry, that is what allows you to compete the most with lower prices. If you demonize profit, like marx did, you will have no free market and you will have no opportunity.
Very informative Donnie. I loved the see the comparison between the Hornet and the Metal Mag! Of course parts of my reason is because I love your slo mo of blowing stuff up!👍👍👍
I don't pay much attention to penetration tests, (maybe with ballistics jell that if it is the same density all the time), because most people pick random objects to shoot, from a brick to a water balloon. I like good solid data, and FPE is that good solid data. I am also not very much concerned about expansion, because i prefer head shots even to 100 yards on small game, much more than body shots. Yes, in a magnum springer, 100 yard head shots are possible with this pellet, (and I thought it might not be, based on polymag performance at long ranges), and several other good pellets. This pellet does shoot as good of a group than I have gotten from any of the best domed pellets out there. That is a nice discovery for people who prefer head shots on small game.
Thanks, man! I'll certainly try. I'm not sponsored or anything, so everything I review I either bought myself, or it was donated by a viewer. I do have quite a bit of donated stuff coming for review...but unfortunately not that particular rifle. They're VERY common guns, though...so chances are it will happen. I promise I'll try my best. :)
Good test mate, here in the uk you can get 225 in .177 for 15 beer tokens (pounds sterling) it seems a little steep to me at 25 bucks. Great penetrator on the rabbits though they are my go to hunting pellets alongside jsb's.
Seems like the ham bone is a harder material than pine wood. It's like how when I hit knots in a 1x4 pine board I can't pierce through it but from my diana model 34 classic .22 the hornets do tear through a 1x4 pine board as long as I don't hit knots and sometimes they split the board but all their energy is lost by penetrating the board and after that they just stop
Doc thanks for another ballistic penetration testing using a metal piercing tip with expanding body type pellets. I appreciate the sacrifice of not only your time but all those pellet tins 😁
+ALL THINGS AIRGUN this is Eddie how you doing today great video man I've not tried these pallets out yet but I will I like to JBS Jumbo's they 18.5 they're great extremely accurate my I had to 95 but I will be trying these and thanks for the info I found out a lot of times these guys are riding and talk about their bad accuracy and what they don't have they stay away from those Crosman pellets it'll make the difference I use them just for planking not for hunting or grouping thanks man great video
claudio loustau Hello Claudio! While I've shot birds with the Hornet with great success, I've never actually shot a duck. Still, I would have to say yes. They would work very well on ducks.
Hi, Donnie! I did some testing with the H&N Hornet in .22 out of a Gamo Swarm and a Gamo G-Force Tac in .177 and achieved very different results than you did out of the Umarex product. The Hornet didn't like the Gamos at all and was inaccurate in both rifles, fitting way too snugly in their barrels. Maybe the Hornet just prefers Umarex breakbarrels......I only know that I have had the majority of my shooting experience with Gamo rifles, and, for me, $25 for 200 Hornets is just too pricey. I shoot too much to justify purchasing them........just my two cents. Very nicely done video, by the way!
Hello, Walton! It's unfortunate that they didn't work well for you. Still, the price is VERY high, so maybe it's better that way? LOL I can only shoot them VERY little because of cose.
Interesting results, man. The hornets, numerically, are pretty close to the H&N FTT's by my tests. So it's a toss up, depending on what you're hunting with it. That said, In all the tests I've done, The 3rd batch of pellets I pulled out of my junk mail back stop show very interesting results! The hornets performed differently than expected/usual. Others, are a toss up between penetration and Velocity shock delivered at POI. I'll show all this in my next video where I show the innards of my backstop and pellet results.
Ryan Saunders Sup man? I sure can, but not until this fall when the season opens again. In my opinion, this pellet isn't necessary for squirrels, as a much cheaper dome would be more accurate and plenty lethal...but I can certainly try it. No harm. Keep an eye out this fall for it. :)
at 25-30 id have no problem shooting a hog just behind on top the ear and watch-em drop dead ! thanks man ,these are super bad ,if you want 5 grains more super glue a bb in the back of the pellets ,i do this with many types ,awesome results !
Thats insane! A couple of years ago I was adjusting my trigger on the hatsan Supertact and as it was set too sensitive it slam fired into the floor when I cocked it. The pellet ended up about two inches from my toe. I felt lucky because I had to dig out the .177 JSB King round from the floor instead of my toe. These Hornets would likely have taken the entire toe off and if it was loaded into my Hatsan cal .25 135 or Domintor rifles quite possibly a good part an adult males shinbone or permanentlt wreck a foot. I need to get my shit together and start taking gun safety more seriously. I mean I always did, but these things will likely kill people if you accidently hit someone in a bad spot like the upper torso or head.
Indeed! Even regular lead pellets can literally kill a person....but these have a MUCH better chance of doing so. Gun safety is completely required with airguns. It's great that you're thinking that way. Thanks for watching! More coming soon. :)
The hornets are not cost effective for the little advantage they give so I make my own penetrator rounds with 25 cal. Crow magnum with a 177 copper bb glued with super glue gel to the tip of the crow magnum with one drop of glue exactly more weight more penetration/ thanks for your information cost is not a factor but penetration is

i really enjoyed part 1 and 2 of this series ,thanks bro good job for sure !!!
H&N excite Prometheus .22 is also an awesome pellet especially if you are limited to 12 ft lbs as in the UK . Great video.

OMG, I love that tooooo!!!! LOLOL Thanks bro! :)
Nicely done Donnie. I dig the slow mo
Awesome test! Would these hornets fit in the mags of the Umarex origin? I worry that they’ll be too long
can u use the hornet with a break barrel

Another great video. Can you review the gamo whisper fusion Mach 1 .22. Thank you. Keep up the good work man, this hobby is addictive.

You did a amazing video and your right about pellets

Who is a fighter??
Great videos sir. I have had great success with those hornet pellets on pigeons and on coyotes at 35 yards 22 cal gamo whisper maxxim.
I am surprised at that point where hits the bone.... Imagine what's doing in a deer or boar head... How much power it have your gun?

Thanks man! You're very welcome!
How would you rate the performance of the Hornet against the Terminator, in terms of penetration of hard materials, such as bone?
terminator is not metal tip but only soft lead im tested today...
how would they work with the ducks. I used the barracuda hunter extreme, but it was not very effective because of the feathers. Did you try it?
claudio loustau Hello Claudio! While I've shot birds with the Hornet with great success, I've never actually shot a duck. Still, I would have to say yes. They would work very well on ducks.

Right on, Leonard! I look forward to seeing that! :)
Can you do a video of squirrel hunting with the .22 cal h&n hornet pellets?
Ryan Saunders Sup man? I sure can, but not until this fall when the season opens again. In my opinion, this pellet isn't necessary for squirrels, as a much cheaper dome would be more accurate and plenty lethal...but I can certainly try it. No harm. Keep an eye out this fall for it. :)
Interesting tests. I see you have some empty tins of the H & N excite pellets. Have you done any testing with those?
Thanks! No, none yet...but I still have some Excite Hollowpoints in .22 I can test. I'll get that done! :)
Awesome, I will be watching. Have fun shooting
جيدا جدا. اصابه الهدف على مسافات 100 متر بشكل دقيق Very good hit the target at long distances
at 25-30 id have no problem shooting a hog just behind on top the ear and watch-em drop dead ! thanks man ,these are super bad ,if you want 5 grains more super glue a bb in the back of the pellets ,i do this with many types ,awesome results !
subbed !!!
Loại này Bao nhiêu $ vậy
Feild Suppy has them for$16.74 a can

Use the Gamo Rocket. ...that pellet will go through all most anything......the Gamo Rocket has alot of take down power....especially for small hogs
That's incredible for a pellet!
Wow!😎
Nice bro

Crow magnum with a 177 copper bb glued with super glue gel to the tip of the crow magnum with one drop of glue exactly more weight more penetration/ thanks for your information cost is not a factor but penetration is
Go ahead and rig some additional tins to see exactly how many the Hornet will penetrate. What's to lose?
Like...Duh.
