- We are smoking and then frying chicken wings. This is also called the smofried wing. is this method a must try? or a bust? I"ll run through the entire method on how to do it. From smoking the wings on the weber smokey mountain to the deep frying part. But more importantly I'll let you know if this method is worth trying or not or if it's a hassle.

Love this Sal. Reminds me of a video I saw awhile back where they double fried wings. This smoking first looks great. Oh then you went and sauced them! Goodness gracious man! 😋
this is a great technique. it was messy but I really have to keep experimenting with this smokefried technique cause this wings were delicious.
I've been doing this method for many years. Back in my younger days as a Marine cook we use to bake the chicken first then bread and fry them. I think they were called Maryland fried chicken. Yours look amazing. I would gobble all those up!!

You eating that sauced wing brought back memories of that drums video we’ve been laughing about. All that was missing was the over-the-shoulder bone toss into the neighbor’s yard, lol!
if I had put more thought into it, I probably should have tossed it...but then we'd have a drum stick and wings bones floating up in orbit obstructing satellites. NASA would be after us for sure lol

I've been doing wings for a long time and one thing I can't get is that fried crispness from oil, even with a Vortex. Those looked perfect!
What temp you taking them in the vortex? Try taking them a little higher. I also like doing a dry brine, it really helps!
@@SJCOOKS I've had my gauge pegged on my Weber a couple of times. I see where some people use corn starch but I haven't tried that.
