Hi Tim, Thank you for making such a clear and instructive video. Can you maybe give me an overview of the specific jets/ kit you ordered, I have the exact same motorcycle but I am getting lost on the jet sizes. Thanks in advance!
Tim Hines hi Tim, Thanks for the video. I'm building mine as well, it's a cm400 C though, but set up is the same. I got a question, there is a hose/tube that goes to the airbox on the right side of the bike, what do you do with this hose/tube once the airbox is removed? Thanks.
Tim Hines awesome, thanks!!! Ohhh another thing. Did you have to remove the rear tire to get the airbox out? Also, now that you have the bike running for a while, are the pods affecting the bike performance at all?
Tim Hines that's the part I'm worry about the most too. So I just washed my bike and I got water into the top part of the engine (where the exhaust pipe and the carbs connect to). It got in from the 2 openings on the side, which I thought was sealed but they are not. Is my engine doomed? Is there a way or a need to flush it out? Please help me. Thanks!
Hi Tim, I’m doing something similar with my 81 CM400C and I’m curious what jet sizes you are running and how many shims/washers you’re running on the needle. If you’re happy with the setup I’d really appreciate knowing the specs to try and replicate with my build because I want that airbox gone! Thanks a bunch!!
Hi Tim, can you share the article/forum that helped you calculate the jet sizes? I have same bike but independent dual exhaust and want to size the jets for it along with Pod filters.
Sorry to keep asking you questions to but my 81 cm400c is almost done and you have been the most helpful with your videos and quick responses on any of my questions but my question is did you end up sticking with the 95/128 on the carb jets because I'm bike is done but it seems I have been having carb trouble and it seems to be running a bit rich right now. and I just went with the 95 128 from your previous post thank you tim
What jets did you end up using? And what research did you find on the jets? I am rebuilding mine now and would love to upgrade the jets but not sure the size.
What model Carb is this? I have a 1981 CM400e with keihin carb, has VB stamped on it. Can't seam to reference the jet numbers. Any help would be great!
Hey Tim, what was the rubber hose that you purchased and where from? What dimensions was it? not the PVC but the actual rubber hose that you used as the junction.
Where did you post your final jet formula? I have the exact same bike and put the same pod filters and exhaust on it and its bogging down at high rpm. My primary jets are 80 and i've tried main jet size 122.5 and 127.5 but neither seem to fix it.
Just wondering what you ended up with. I started with 78/127.5. I also shimmed the needle with two shim per 6sigma. Sigma suggested starting with 122.5 but everyone seems to be going bigger.
So he skipped the entire installation in this video and the tuning of the carbs?

What size PVC and rubber hose did you use ?
Quick question Tim are the white pvc pieces you used 2 inches around or 1 in a half around
Not a word about jetting?

Do you have a link to where you bought the jet kits and the carb rebuild kits? Thanks.
Thanks for teaching. Im 21 and just got my first bike. Its a 400 honda also. So is there any high preformance dual carburetors for this bike?
what size jets did you replace the stock ones with? Or I should ask, what size are the jets now and did you go bigger on the secondary jets as well?
Cool thank you. Looking forward to the start up. The bike looks sweet plus watching your videos really helps me out with ideas. Thanks again!

Tim Hines did you figure out the final jet combo?
What mm are the carbs on these
54mm
@@Tricornatops 34mm mybe, stocks are 30mm
Okay thank you!

@@tims-garage do you know which size they were? also, hate that i found this vid a year late

Hey Tim what did you end up doing with the Cam cover tubing that ran to the air box ?
Yup I believe that's the guy. Having a hard time locating a cone air filter small enough. Search continues. Thanks again.

Got that from some hose website and cut it. Been so long that I don't remember
Can you send me a link of where did you get the jet set from?
Tim Hines thanks a lot! I have many other questions,but I don't want to become boring :) I'm working on a cb400n,so....
Did you get the jet sizes?

Tim is this jet combo that you are still using?
Just wondering what you ended up with. I started with 78/127.5. I also shimmed the needle with two shim per 6sigma. Sigma suggested starting with 122.5 but everyone seems to be going bigger.
Does the PVC cover the intake slot at the top ?
Tim Hines oh the second clamp offers it clearance i see it now. ☺
did i miss part 9? lol
It looks like the pvc is the same diameter as the diameter of the carb intake, that isn't blocking the holes for the carb?
It was just larger, I got another price of rubber pipe to hold them together
@@tims-garage do you know the jet sizes you used?
What u did is nothing but said what you did not showing us crap
Thanks for the clear and constructive feedback!
