This is awesome! It was so fun to watch your project. Thanks for filming all of this. I am just finishing up a 79 cm400 project myself and it was my first bike to go through so I really appreciated your videos.
i can't wait to get started! i've ordered a lot of stuff and as soon as it arrives i'll start my cafe racer series on my '79 CB400N. looking forward to sharing ;)
Great series Tim! I can't wait to start my build I have 79 cm400t, same factory color and everything. The electrical, and cutting the back up is really the only thing is slowing me down.
Hi, congratulations on the project, the bike looks nice. I have a CM too and need to change the handle grips. Can you please tell me where can I get some like yours but in black. Thanks!
LOL. I know a guy with a cafe who put a couple of soup cans over them because water from the rear wheel was getting in. It actually looks kind of cool.
Tim I know this video is ancient by now but can you remember what size the rear tire was in this video? I'm looking for a "taller" tire to balance out the look of my cm400. I would be really grateful if you had that info
@@tims-garage i only ask because my 120/80-16 shinko 712s look so crappy on the bike. I didn't think that going to a 90 sidewall size would make the tire look so much taller. Might be the brand of tire too
Hi Tim, Great to see a custom CM400t, I live in the Netherlands and the CM400 series are quite rare here. I have a 1982 CM400t, the pressed steel frame works great when trying to hide electronics underneath the seat. A perfect bike for starting builders like me. Currently I'm working on the air filters, did you have to adjust something to sync with the different amount of airflow after mounting new filters? Thanks in advance!
I cant get my exhaust to fit between rear brake and peg on the same bike... it made my project come to a hold this summer. Should I throw spacers between the peg and brake to give clearance?
But the front fender needs to be in place, it stabalizes the fork from twisting, quite important. You will notice a big difference when driving ;) You can shorten it, or build a frame instead, but get it on there!
Hey i'm looking to buy a CB 400 and when i was looking the sell listings i started coming across a couple of CM400T. At first glance i see a tank shape difference and a couple of accesories different, but there is any other difference that i'm missing?

I loved this series! What a beautiful bike, I wish my CM400 looked this mint!
This was a great series Tim! loved watching the videos and they did help me out on some creative parts and ideas!

Sounds great after exhaust got fixed. Just about finished one of these myself. Nice little bikes.
Nice build man, I just bought my first bike, it's a 1978 Honda cb400t and bro, you have inspired me!

I didn't know Honda used this same frame for multiple bikes! Have a CX500 I'm building soon with the same frame. Cool build!
The Inja, same frame as a cx500??, are you stoned?, stop smoking that crap, is not good for you!!
What jets did you end up using in the carbs?
I'm struggling to remember, its been a while.
I also need this info 🥲

I like blinkers in the headlight. I might put silver detailing on the Honda logo.
Where the heck is the battery? lol What ended up being the final carb jet sizes?
Where did you acquire the seat I love it
It would really help me if you told me how you attached the seat. Im struggling with mine atm.
How well do those air cleaners work in the rain?
LOL. I know a guy with a cafe who put a couple of soup cans over them because water from the rear wheel was getting in. It actually looks kind of cool.
WHERE DID YOU GET THE SEATTTT PLEASEEE
Have you removed some of the baffle packing or not?
Do you have any clearance issues with the clubmans and the tank?
Seems to me that the bars would be able to hit the rather wide tank.
What are the measurements on the seat? Been looking for one for my build, was hoping you could help

What handlebars and grips do you have on it. I have an 81 CM400C and an looking into doing something similar with mine here soon.

Thanks I will!
What size pods are you running? I have a CM 450A im gonna tear down this winter and build into a cafe.
Have you had issues with the bike bottoming out??
Tim Hines Obviously those are not stock shocks. So you increased the pre-load?
I saw in the video's that you replaced your handlebar.
Where did you bought it?

Hmm. I'd love to see a pic or video of this
im new here, where do you put the battery?? (sorry if you answer this question already)
Do you or anyone have a link for that tail light and head light
No fenders?

How much is this bike worth in this condition?
Nothing, he ruined a perfectly good classic.
