Hey everyone! I just posted a follow up to this guide that compiles 5 of the best glitches to streamline your next play though of TOTK. I hope it’ll help for everyone who followed this guide and restarted their save file, check it out!
is there anyway to still get a duplicate master sword?
I don’t know if you will see this considering this video is a year old, but I just wanted to say thank you so so so much for this tutorial, I made a file yesterday and was semi-speed running it with the goal of getting all three master swords in my house and following your video exactly I was able to get all three on weapon display. Again thank you so much.

Hi, I’m finding it quite hard to do the boulder part as the boulder hammer is not spawning in the hyrule castle passages and I’ve spent over an hour on it.

A lot of people got really close but ultimately none could find a way to transfer the msg to a different save file

Apparently guy name *@alexandersiverly8285* in a previous video say somehow he got MSG Not Found in 1.1.2,
by and I quote: get the msgnotfound to appear on the ground when it isn’t there after you break the state: go to a ledge, glide a few feet away, then save mid-air with no shied or bow equipped. When you load it, the sword will fall off the ledge and you just jump down to it and continue. I don't if this is true or not, as there is no video currently proving it but if anyone want to try here you go
@@cedrolenon this comment was in regard to a step of that video, where you desync the msg and it drops to the ground in order to do weapon state transfer. Unfortunately not a way to get the msg in 1.1.2 :/

You can get Dms in 1.1.2 but not MNF

Did you turn off “auto update software” in the settings?

Does this affect the data on your sd card? The switch gives a warning that it’ll be unusable
It seems like using the “Initialize Console without Deleting Save Data” is a safer option, and should still revert physical cartridges to their launch version. Tho if you can, I’d recommend doing the 7 day free trial of Nintendo online to get everything backed up to the cloud. That way you have two ways to recover your data. Sorry I should explained that better in the video, thanks for watching!

Do you have to do it consistently without any error without the map accidentally popping up cuz I did it so many times and nothing dropped and I couldn't display it
Minor mistakes are okay, so long as it doesn’t drop the stack of weapons from your hand. Otherwise anywhere from 10 to 15 zuggles is average
I don’t think it works in 1.0.0 because you can’t drop the msg in the hyrule castle
So i tried this and when i tried to go and open my save at in isa, there were only save foles for the intro and nothing else
Did you see the auto save pop up in the bottom left of the screen as you entered in isa?
If i already picked up the dms, and accidentally despawn it while trying to display it, can i reload a save before i picked up the dms from the room of awakening?

Can this glitch be done multiple times to get more than one msg not found? Or is it a one time deal?
You could tho it’s a lot easier just to dupe the msg after obtaining it once
@@jdef4952 I did it shortly after asking the question. I didn’t think I was going to get a reply. I want to give you my thanks for taking the time to reply. So, I went ahead and just repeated the steps in the shrine and in the castle corridor and I did get 5 more msg not found swords. It was insane. It’s the first time I mess around with a game in this manner. Question, is the msg not found unbreakable? Or does it still break like the master sword? Can you fuse things to it? That I haven’t done yet.

It does, the process of reverting the game version we use can’t be patched out by the game
1.0 I had to zuggle on both saves. Fudge me
How do you get the tunic??
It’s the tunic of twilight, I just used an amiibo to get it. If you don’t have one you can find the individual pieces in the depths. AustinJohnPlays has a great guide showing where to find all the amiibo outfits: ruclips.net/video/KfkpT2eOMWI/видео.html

You would have to follow the steps shown to the revert the game version to 1.0.0 but that process will work on any version

Yeah you can do this on any version
do i need to backup totk
No because if you’re reverting to 1.0.0 you’ll lose TOTK save data anyway. You do want to back up all other games however. I know animal crossing and Pokémon back ups are slightly more complicated so look into that first if you play either.

You have to back up the save data from your other games. You can move it to an SD card, or to the cloud if you have a Nintendo subscription
Ok so if I want to play my other save games I will be able to do that as longs as I have them backed up

@@me_when_asd yeah full factory reset is the only way to delete the update version file, thats why we have to back up all games to cloud or sd card
can i Just get the 2 swords and then update to the newest version? bacause the glitchi grass effect in 1.0.0 Is disturbing to me

Unfortunately there’s no known methods post ver 1.1.1, a lot of people had some promising ideas but all were unsuccessful

I’m so happy I got my master sword before 1.1.2 because I have 100+ hours on totk this method is so dumb unless you just got the game or just really like glitches i myself love the glitches but I’m not willing to do this painful process and delete my save data for glitches also this video was pretty annoying clickbait because I thought originally by the tittle wow somebody has managed to figure out a way to smuggle items across save files to get msg not found again but when I clicked on the video I was disappointed to see it just involved resetting the game an appropriate title which still would get viewers is how to be able to do 1.0.0 glitches again and it can include the msg not found still In the thumbnail
Fair criticisms and I apologize for the title. I struggled to find a title that wouldn’t deter people by thinking you had to already be on 1.0.0 while still quickly summarizing what the goal of the video was, though I agree something like you said is more accurate. It’s certainly a long process, and I knew making it that people willing to do all this would be few and far in between, but hoped that those few who did want the sword/ 1.0.0 glitches in general, would find some use out of this guide. Im completely new to making RUclips videos and the last way I want to start is by putting a bad taste in people’s mouth by posting what could be taken as clickbait so I really do apologize, I’ve learned a lot from even just the two videos I’ve made but have plenty more to learn. @@jdef4952 it’s ok my fellow essay typer lol I did use your weapon stat transfer video and it was very helpful and title was a lot better although you could of skipped a few more of your zuggles and just have the tips and like 1 to 3 zuggles also there is some popularity in builds and the motor being the most useful for them I would suggest messing around with that one thing you can do with it is basically make a blender with it by attaching a weapon to the rotating part and then making although the weapons do loose durability but when auto building with zonite they do not although I’m pretty sure some stats don’t work properly like the final hit thing because it has no real durability if you can attach it to a vehicle you got your self a enemy lawn mower which would get a good couple thousand views I’m pretty sure of if you make the vehicle look cool I would recommend using a metal plate as the base of the vehicle so you only need one shock emitter the main use people are trying is flight travel right now with the motors but the fact is that it can’t change direction with it but this could even help inspire the build community a bit. If it gets enough publicity I hope you learned a lesson from these comment and hope you do well from one essay typer to another

I still don’t know if sapphire rod is specifically needed. Mainly zuggle overload, Could be a version thing… For some reason I’m able to display MNF without picking up another weapon to changes its appearance. I think or thought you could also change DMS appearance to and display it like that but idk. Also note that I think when changing its appearance that I think it takes the weapon that you picked up. I think it takes its modifier and durability stat but I could be wrong. I’m saying this based for 1.1.1 idk if it applies. This is just what I’ve experienced. Awesome video. now I know how to reset my switch.
Yeah there were a couple steps in here that may have more efficient ways to pull off, I just wasn’t as familiar with 1.0.0 glitches. I didn’t notice any WST when displaying the swords but I’ll double check. I’d hoped a 1.1.2 MSG method would be found but figured this might be helpful in the meantime for those who wanted the sword bad enough. Thanks for watching!

So essentially, you took a new game smuggle the weapon into the next game. If you upgrade the game can you smuggle it into the game you backed up
You can’t smuggle it into your original TOTK save file, the back up is just if you have other games on the switch since you have to factory reset. Unfortunately you’ll have to restart your TOTK save

I know you probably wont see this but could you borrow a physical copy of a game even if you have digital get the 1.0.0 vers then use the digital game if it would stay on vers 1.0.0

I understand obtaining MsgNotFound in regular gameplay, it's an invincible Master Sword. But why the Decayed Master Sword? It doesn't hit as hard as even a sky island Tree Branch and breaks in about 5 to 10 hits!
It’s really just a novelty thing, I have the msg, decayed, and real master sword on display together so it’s like a time line of the three stages of the master sword throughout the game. Not much use outside of that tho

The master sword decayed when i get it in 1.0.0 version when i save the game and load it the sword dissapear, so i dont know how can hold it in my inventory

@@jdef4952I ended up just formatting my switch. With the backup shit it’s really not an issue and I ended up getting the sword. Do you know of any way to fuse to it to make it a little more powerful? I’m not sure if the methods are patched because I haven’t tried cause I’m a little scared of losing it. I got two of them but still haha. I have the digital version so I ended up having to update my game to 1.2.0 after I used my brothers physical cartridge

I did the glitch in 1.1.2 and it didn’t work and I was doing it for the DMS. Do I have to hold down on R the whole time?

I do the ++ fast or 1 frame late and it either doesn't spawn in the staircase or doesn't let me drop it do you know why?
