Personally, I don't believe government should be able to force private businesses and companies on how and who they hire as their employees. This is extremely overreaching their authority.
It’s also incredibly hypocritical, we as a society celebrate ‘woman owned and operated’ ‘black owned and operated’ businesses. Don’t get me wrong, I think that’s great if that’s what businesses want to do, however, how is there diversity in those businesses? Do they have to take ‘diversity sensitivity’ courses? Do they have to participate in diversifying their employment force? If we outwardly advocated for ‘white owned and operated’ businesses, there would be hellfire. So, only SOME businesses are required to diversify, if it’s a fully minority owned business then they can just stay as they are, right? The concept doesn’t make sense and it doesn’t actually help the optics of minorities because all non minority groups will now second guess when they see a black pilot, or surgeon, even if they ARE qualified, where in a meritocracy, there’s no reason to.

@chavonj4680 it was I was working full time doing country work for years. The farm had to down size during lockdown, and I decided to go into town.
I admit I am a highschool drop out but got a good cv with various skills on it. The websites actually said that was the focus, and when you walked in there, you could tell they ONLY hired them.

All the cafes and half the economy were shut down. The travel restrictions were wild and we didn't even have a case on my island when we locked down.

What is the point of these enquiries in the USA? I have seen quite a few different ones and it appears those being asked questions are allowed to totally ignore the question and pontificate on how wonderful things are in their respective houses. It seems a waste of time and money.

This happened to me in the 80's. I'm 58 white and didn't go to college, but had a rough time getting a job in the late 80's because I didn't have a family member working at a certain company or a minority
