@@elephantoflight3362 Incompetence. If your job is to be the head of the Department of Labor and you can't answer basic questions pertaining to your duties with a straight answer when questioned by one of your superiors in the government, then you are obviously not qualified for the job that you have been given.
Do you think treating people like family at work is a good thing? "I think that treating people with dignity and respect..." She was asked a yes or no question, and she refused to give a clear answer.
Earlier, you said if your boss at work said that everybody at work was like a family, then you might need a union. Why would that be? Once again, she provided no clear answer.
Should every federal employee show up for work every day? "First, I do want to say again because anything to the contrary is both non-factual and, I think, highly offensive. that the employees in the Department of Labor have been working incredibly hard..." Didn't answer the question and got offended for no reason.
The last part of the discussion had to do with the fact that federal employees from the Department of Labor showed up to work, not to work, but to protest after they were told that they would have to show up for work at least 50 percent of the time. Then Bob Good said ", They showed up to work in person to protest having to show up to work in person. Do you see the irony in that?" "Congressman, I don't think it's right to ridicule the hard work of federal employees." That was once again a yes or no question and I think it further proves the case for incompetence. If her subordinates aren't even showing up for work then how much work is actually getting done. I'm aware that they are probably doing work remotely but my guess is that they were being called in and told to show up for work 50 percent of the time because there was not enough work getting done.

When returning to on site work and many were still working remotely, traffic was still almost nil, it was no problem to drive in. Now they are asking workers to go back to being inefficient and driving on clogged roads every day again. For what good purpose? Just because? They can rotate being on site once a week if it's so important to the leadership, but being on site is not all it's cracked up to be. Office space could be reduced if needed. Think of the cost savings there.

It is entirely false to claim people were more efficient working from home -- people working from home have been proven to do less work than those in an office. Across the board, in every job.

If you are a low level programmer then maybe. Most organizations need interpersonal interaction, at least for a major portion of time. Of course many younger employees are not equipped for that, but they could learn to be!

"It's not right to ridicule the hard work of federal employees"...he isn't. People not willing to go to the office are not hard workers. Remove the tax break for a home office already.

I worked for a family owned company for 20 years we were treated like just that family. The owner passed we were brought out by a bigger company claming to be family unionized and the was a much worse place to work.
