Such great stories and especially the red fire truck resulting in a meltdown where your dad had to carry you out of the store (you were smiling knowingly when they were recounting that story)...and then your Aunt heard it at the store and KNEW it was you! hahahaha Too funny! You're human, just like us but unlike us, you are THE Blues Rock Titan! Love that your parents have a Joe stool in their house (probably more than one)! Your mom and dad are so precious, so positive, and so supportive of you and Lindsay throughout your lives. Priceless! Since Lindsay is so gifted musically and can sing, we'd LOVE to see her perform with you sometime, Joe! That would be so awesome. And, your dad is absolutely right that you coming out on the stage at RAH 1 was a very emotional moment...for all of us who were there! We've been following you since 2005 and to see you on that stage just blew us away. The past 50:47 is the most fun I've spent watching a YT video, learning more about you and your family, the Early Years. Well, Johnny Law, sending blessings to you all and thanks for sharing! Baaaaad Kitty

I went to see Joe in concert in Kitchener Ontario about 4 or 5 years ago. I had good seats in the fourth row or something like that. I started making small talk with the couple sitting beside me before the show asking them if they had seen Joe before. They responded they had, and that they had driven from upstate New York to see him. Talking further it came out that they have driven to see him at many shows when he is in this part of the US/Canada. I obliviously replied to them that they must be big fans. That's when they told me they were Joe's parents.
As the video suggests, they are the real deal. Super friendly, kind and down to earth. Even thanked us for coming at the end of the show!

Thank you to you, Joe, and to your parents. I too, grew up in a musically tolerant home; loving parental support, especially for my 10 years younger brother, who had the gift and the drive. My brother had a very successful career as a "bluesman" in a band that was very successful in the Upper Great Lakes circuit. But, I benefited too. It transferred to my 3 years younger sister, as a mother of another gifted and driven guitarist. My nephew went to Berklee for guitar and graduated with high honors. I gave both of them their first guitars.( very fine guitars ) I do not have the "gift", but at 75, I have played one and I build very good acoustic guitars and a few nice electrics. That was my "gift."

I looked up uncomfortably numb- I'm glad you made it out alive!👍🤗 I was 3 years younger than Lori. February 11th is my birthday and February 15th was hers. She was greatly loved by the teachers, and I felt like I was in her shadow, but I was grateful to be there. She, Mom, and my Mom's Mom were my world. We adored each other. I think you and Lindsay feel the same.❤ Mom was one of 5 girls- no boys, too. She was a surprise. Grandma Brewster had her in her 40s.😊

Joe so glad to see your parents. I remember the first time you played BB kings Memphis. I was the one to keep you out of trouble. Lol we talked blues and music. I wasn’t much older than you. I remember your show but us jamming in the green room was epic fun for me. You taught me a lot. Thanks!
I remember your dad hovering. He did let us walk Beale and talk about each music note on Beale. Your knowledge of the Blues legends at such a young age was amazing. I had to learn all the pictures in the club and you educated me. Thanks again!

So true what you say about growing up in central New York, I grew right by the Salmon river off Lake Ontario in a tiny house with six people, modest way of life. So cold , so much snow we would get three feet of snow in a night , couple times a year. But growing up with meager means in such a harsh environment is at the core of who are and will always be.

Your father had to work at a correctional facility which is not an easy job for my brother was a Sargent at a correctional facility and it took a some of his spirit but he did I t for his family. Your mother is a lovely women who did everything to make you and your sister dreams come true and that takes a lot of sacrifice. I should say both your parents made sacrifices and look at you now! You are blessed! Hope you and your family have a great NewYear!

Another great interview by Joe. You do have some great parents and one can tell there is a very strong work ethic in the Bonamassa family. It is amazing your sister got her masters while pregnant and is a classically trained pianist as well as vocally trained, maybe someday she can make a cameo appearance on stage with you, her kids would love that. It is cool you decorated your Christmas tree with 6L6 power tubes, lol, hoping Santa got the message and brought you a fine amplifier that year. Your driving is like your music, buckle up, because whoever is riding is in for a pleasant surprise and you never know what’s coming around the bend. You are very blessed to have a wonderful family. I thank GOD you are safe from the Nashville tragedy, prayers went out immediately for you and others in Nashville when I heard the news. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. GOD bless ya’ll.
