When I used to travel for work, I always liked to go thrifting in the expensive part of whatever city I was visiting. I found some really nice things I could never have afforded otherwise.

I 100% feel this to my very core. I turned 40 a few months ago and I’m a mother of 5. I’ve been single (well, divorced, lol) for almost 6 years now and work in a law office. I’ve been really trying to “spice things up” with how I dress, to look nicer and feel nicer, also to hopefully start dating again…but I struggle feeling comfortable in almost everything that isn’t jeans and a tee.
It's so hard to find the balance between style and comfort and price and societal expectations and and and... I feel you! But we will figure it out together 😊

Great video, Amanda! I find that when I buy retail, I tend to stick to my same (maybe boring) "signature" style, but when I go thrifting, I'm forced to consider pieces outside of my normal comfort zone. I have put together some awesome outfits this way that I would have never considered otherwise. I've been out of the thrifting game for a while, but I'm getting back into it, and you're providing lots of inspo!

You could also put it over a sleeved t shirt. It's a very versatile piece.

This was so fun!! I may not be a mom, but I still relate to the feelings you described. For me it's getting older, trying to find clothes that work for work but also the super hot climate I live in and also that I feel like express who I am at this moment through what I wear but also who even is that and what do I wear?? 😂 I find myself wearing more chill but cute things for work, and then going absolutely unhinged on my days off. No rhyme, no reason, just whatever the vibe is for me that day 😅 I would love to get into thrifting, and all of the outfits you shared with your thrifted finds are so cute and inspiring! I love all the different looks you built around each piece. More thrifting and style content, please!!
As a mom yes I do know exactly what you mean. My body is very different and it is harder to find things that fit well. I personally have a lot of luck watching Aly Art videos about the body types. She helped me figure out what lines to look for and what styles look best on my figure. I also could listen to her all day as she has one of those soft accented voices that is like asmr to me. Anyway, I’ve come to find a sort of uniform is best for me right now. I wear mostly dresses, always with pockets, and with a cottagecore vibe. For where I live it’s perfect and I just wear the same stuff but change accessories.
Girl, why are you speaking facts? It's facts after facts after facts. The intro of the video expresses everything I feel. I'm a mom, 43, I feel so lost about my style and so many other issues. Would love to see more videos like this one.

I like shopping online with thredUP. My favorite find was a real leather Selena Gomez purse for $70 and YSL vintage pumps for $35. Both retail for $495 and around $6-700.

That’s an amazing haul! I too struggle with style, especially as I am older and have recently lost a bunch of weight. I usually just wear leggings and a tunic top. Love this video!

Love thrifting and girl, wow, the buffy, audrey, and yellow jacket outfits are killer! Got a pair of comfy sketchers sandals recently, but the straps are canvas so I bought some toe padding, so I hope it helps but they are comfy!
I have a marc jacobs bag that is super cute (quilted crossbody with brown and black flowers) and which I love, that I bought for about $50 converting for currency. Searching similar bags they're around $250 secondhand. Thrifting is the best.

I purchased an Eileen Fisher (that still had the 348$ CAD tag on) for 60$ (CAD) at a thrift. And Melissa Nepton is an AMAZING Montreal Base designer. LOVE this for you!

@MakeupJustForFun go thrifting often and just buy new from one or two actual stores. Mine and reitmans and Walmart, combined with thirfting you will have the most beautiful attire, you will discover your own sense of style and when you will get used to paying 5$ for amazing finds you will no longer want to pay 50$ for a new shirt.
Something you will learn to do is evaluate items based on how much YOU think it's worth and compared to the selling price if you have making a good deal or not. You will no longer let a 75$ shirt on sale for 50% be tempting but an extra 25% off on a 3$ thrifted scarf will now be considered a good deal.
It's really fun! I'm a plus size 40 year old mother working a high level job and majority of my amazing clothes are trifted :)

I love that you stole your hubbies shirt for this lol. I’m bigger now but I used to wear my husbands flannel tied over simple sundresses and I miss that. But I am on a fitness journey and I’m slimming down so it’s only a matter of time before I will be stealing his shirts again lolz

😅 I'm not in the right demographic, but these are really nice. If you were fifty to a hundred pounds heavier, that's where the real problems are with figuring out outfits.
