yep I will be waiting for that to catch on! I think it could even work for the really long cutouts, you could do multiple little pins n have tiny bows running along the arm or something like that; I've been seeing lots of safety pins, broaches etc on Pinterest anyways and I think that hack would fit right in! :)
I adore the paisley purple blouse with the fluffy white sleeves, totally surprised I like it! Even though you didn't, I was like no, don't cover it up!! 😂
First time viewer (and now subscriber) here. This video is great! I’m 55 years old and my wardrobe has become so stale, unhip and boring and this gives me inspiration to see things a little more creatively in how I can mix things up and elevate old pieces with new items. 😊
Yesss thats exactly what liz evokes! May i also recommend Kathleen Illustrated? I feel like her and liz are the creative thrifty queens of youtube right now!
Absolutely loving the creative safety pinning! Also bows and ribbons are always a yes in my book~ My jaw literally dropped when you paired the purple paisley top with the white blouse, it was so cute and frilly. You may not have felt comfortable in it, but I must thank you for giving me inspiration^^ And I thought the last oufit was totally channeling Phoebe Buffay! Yes for the beret and black dress being the MVPs too.
I love what you did with the ribbons on the shoulders! A couple more options for lifting cold shoulders: 1) For the crafty peeps, add grommets on each side and lace them up; if it's a loose, crochet-type knit, use a crochet hook to feed in ribbon/etc to lace back and forth. This could be tightly woven/laced or loose, contrasting color, cord, ribbon, twine, shoe laces, twill tape, chain, embroidery floss, etc. It might last longer with some support behind the holes. 2) Also for the crafty, stitch the two sides together (doesn't have to look good on the inside) and add some buttons or beads to look intentional and cute; 3) wear over a plain, coordinating color long sleeve, tight knit top/T, turtleneck, etc or LS mesh top. This looks surprisingly cool on one I made for summer and actually looks like one piece, oddly enough. 4) Rows of neatly spaced safety pins (dozens of them). Hope this inspires somebody!
ur sooo good at making a questionable clothing item super cute & stylish. you, as a creator, single-handedly inspired my personal fashion renaissance when i discovered ur channel a few months ago and i just wanna say thank u and never stop ur so kewl c:
The second one with the socks and loafers is SO cute! Never would've thought to do the whole tonal monochrome look and again... the loafers are chef's kiss. The creativity of adding the bows is so good! forever inspired by your content!!
I grew up in the 2000s and I remember that eyelet/lacy top trend so clearly. My favorite fit was this navy blue eyelet patterned top with a neon green tank top under it💀
Wow, most of those tops scream early to mid 2000s (except the cold shoulder tops, which was so early 2010s). However, I think that Liz Claiborne top may have been from the late-80s to early-90s, since peplum was popular then, AND Liz Claiborne was THE brand for career wear back then. I like how you made them work for today’s styles without any upcycling. Well done!
This series of videos is refreshingly light and engaging. At one level, you are "teaching/modelling" the process of composing a "look." I appreciate that. Wish you could come to my house and play "outfits" with the clothes I have.
Am I the only one who actually likes peplums? Granted, I prefer them in a more dainty, ruffly way than bussiness-y and structured, but still, I like how they look and wound't mind at all if they came back. I even feel inspired to thrift and style a peplum top now!
about the blue “peplum” top, i can totally see it on top of a little straight miniskirt with some white gogo boots. the color and silhouette felt VERY 60s to me, i’d lean into that!
I love that type of challenge! I think your process around styling pieces that weren't your choice will be useful to me when looking through my wardrobe and finding pieces that aren't quite my style anymore. It'll help give them some new life!
Omg the way you styled that Jlo top with the ribbon in your hair?? SLAY. I was doubtful in the beginning but you knocked it out of the park with these!
Oh my gosh that boat shirt is everything. I cannot stop imagining it turned into a skirt. The fabric might be tough but it would be so cute! And take the neck detail off to add as cute little bow somewhere
Your cold shoulder hack has me wanting to go thrifting for cold shoulder tops now 😅 I actually really loved the paisley outfit! I thought it looked super sweet, but it also looked great with the coat over the top as well.
Omg the way you styled the purple top in 20:14, you weren't liking it up I love it!! I feel like it does the custey grunge better than the other look you were trying to give that vibe. The way the sleeves look is so good and I like the neck tie idea too. I can admit it's also not a style I'd wear but it's very new and playful in my eyes.
Just got home from a wonderfully exhausting weekend - this was the perfect video to chill out with. As always, I admire and am inspired by your way of styling things in unsuspected ways. I need to try stuff on backwards! Thank you and have a great week!
Wait, the bow trick is amazing! I actually still like cold shoulder stuff but I also love the bow trend, so I might try this. It's such a creative and cute way to wear a cold shoulder! Edit: AND the pin for the second cold shoulder top, I love that! It really elevated the top. Your videos are truly such great fashion inspo!
omg somehow you make it work, because i was really skeptical about how you could make them look no terrible. Like, those blouses are absolutely hideous, but you made them work so well, so good.
Wow! You are so brave - and you made all those really awful clothes look really good. The bows on the black top are sheer genius. The materials though would prevent me from keeping most of them as I pretty much stick to only natural fabrics. Great job!
so many fun textures in this box! my goodwill doesn’t do mystery grab bags but hinestly i’d be too scared to get one even if they did 💀 edit: my favorite item from this bag was actually the lace grey top! i feel like the cut is soooo on trend and it could look good just as an every day top w any pants
LOL honestly I wouldn't recommend it for actual shopping but it's great for a little ~styling experiment~ totally agree on the gray shirt! I felt like I had to do more just to make it a more interesting outfit but I think it would work on it's own so well
Love this series!! Would be super interested to see you style a mystery box of men's shirts in your size, I feel like they tend to have more timeless silhouettes and could be cool to see some more androgynous outfits :)
Wow! Great styling! This is my first time watching your video. I love that peasant cream top with the black panel of buttons. I think it’s cool because it’s different and unique. You styled it really well.
uhhh the cold shoulder flip and the orange top with that purple/orange scarf are fantastic. genius. and yes, though it's not my cup of tea, you did great with the little j-fashion look!
The black shirt with the bows that closed up the cold shoulders was the most successful I think. I am also a fan of coving up an ugly blouse and letting the wild print peek out for a great pop of interest. This type of video is so inspiring. It gives me hope that there is a way to keep the dated and unsightly clothing out of landfills.
Cute idea for reworking the black cold shoulder top! And I actually loved the purple frilly top over the white without the jacket😂 you surprised me how cute you made it look!
Loved a lot of these outfits! I'm working on trying to get more out of the clothes I own, so strategies for overcoming underwhelming pieces with styling are treasured. 15:53 I wish those jeans were a little lighter and more purple/less saturated but the silhouettes were lovely
Suddenly it's 2009 and I'm 16 again 🙈🙈 I definitely had some version of all of those shirts (not including the cold shoulder ones, never felt comfortable in those) That cornflower blue lace tee with the cap sleeves IS STILL ADORABLE tho, and I stand by it!
/shudders in cold shoulder/ as a plus size girlie who lived through the 2010s, I can never look at peplum and cold shoulders the same way again. But you really did make these work!
With the floral pink/red/orange top, I would've personally done some funky pink/red/orange socks to go with it. I think it would tie everything together nicely....but girl...GIRL why did I absolutely love the coastal gma outfit?! LIKE ITS SO CUTE!!!
the monochrome look is giving Chessy from The Parent Trap but even more stylish. also that second upcycle to the cold shoulder top actually goes so hard and I might actually give it a go myself.
I loved the monochrome blue outfit! topping it off with the layers and the hair bow. chef’s kiss! I totally hear you that this wasn’t your style, but I actually loved the big collar blouse under the flouncy blue top and the skirt. it was veryyy whimsical and kooky, and I think the kookiness made it feel a bit less femme for me. I dunno, I really thought adding the big collar was a genius move!
Seeing so many of these pieces makes me take a moment and realize how outdated things that used to be normal are. Just a weird type of nostalgia for a lot of pieces I would have liked to wear
I liked the grandma shirt and fruits inspired outfits! Also, I think the orange eyelet top would have worked with the other pieces from the monochrome outfit too.
The batwing one screams cruise ship. You need a floppy hat, and a cocktail in hand and you'd blend in with any retiree on an excursion.
omg true... that's the styling direction for next time
It's giving Christine Baranski in Mamma Mia.
The bow hack with the cold shoulder IS GENIUS. I’m always impressed with your creativity 👏✨
Liz is a creative goddess!
omg thank u this is so kind!! :')
yep I will be waiting for that to catch on! I think it could even work for the really long cutouts, you could do multiple little pins n have tiny bows running along the arm or something like that; I've been seeing lots of safety pins, broaches etc on Pinterest anyways and I think that hack would fit right in! :)
Agreed! My jaw dropped. 😂
Agreed! I'm definitely gonna try that with some cold shoulder tops I still have in my closet!
I adore the paisley purple blouse with the fluffy white sleeves, totally surprised I like it! Even though you didn't, I was like no, don't cover it up!! 😂
Same, I was thinking that I’d totally wear it!
haha I'm honored you liked it!! Honestly I also liked it more looking back than I did in the moment
same i was like SHOUTING at my screen haha
Amazing fits! You are so talented!
Same! It looked so cute and creative, I'd definitely wear an outfit like that!
First time viewer (and now subscriber) here. This video is great! I’m 55 years old and my wardrobe has become so stale, unhip and boring and this gives me inspiration to see things a little more creatively in how I can mix things up and elevate old pieces with new items. 😊

@@hanniballecter1960 Thank you, I will check it out!
what i learned from this video is adding a color coordinated scarf + neutral jacket can make any ugly t shirt wearable 💀
Makes sense as both items pretty much conceal the top, just leaving a sliver of it visable.
we've hacked the system, this is the code
Absolutely loving the creative safety pinning! thank you Mint!! very glad to give some inspo hehe & so thankful for my wardrobe staple saviors

You got some cool ideas there!!
Thanks
Idk why but I love the costal grandma shirt. I would have loved the outfit with some blue socks to tie in the colours ❤
ooo that's a great idea! people are loving that top it seems, I'm happy I decided to keep it!!
I love it. Let me know if you ever decide to get rid of it
ur sooo good at making a questionable clothing item super cute & stylish. you, as a creator, single-handedly inspired my personal fashion renaissance when i discovered ur channel a few months ago and i just wanna say thank u and never stop ur so kewl c:
omg this is so nice thank you so much!! I am honored to hear I've contributed to your style at all
Omg i cant believe how well these turned out! You are amazing❣️
The bow hack on the cold shoulder is🤌🏼
for the sailboat shirt- maritime prints are definitely going to have their time this year TRUST it’s going to be so camp
The second one with the socks and loafers is SO cute! Never would've thought to do the whole tonal monochrome look and again... the loafers are chef's kiss. The creativity of adding the bows is so good! forever inspired by your content!!

i was so shocked at how cute the boat shirt is im so glad you kept it !!! it suits you so well i can totally see you styling it with your fish bag 🥺❤️
omg you are such a real one for knowing the fish bag. And that's a brilliant combo! can't wait to try it out hehe
The bow hack?! GENIUS! Our queen strikes again
Liz: “How to style ugly, outdated pieces:
Step 1: Cover them up with nice, in-style pieces”
When I saw all of the funky, outdated looks I was like “no way it can be cute” but I’m obsessed with all of these! My faves being 16:50 and 20:34!
This series of videos is refreshingly light and engaging. At one level, you are "teaching/modelling" the process of composing a "look." I appreciate that. Wish you could come to my house and play "outfits" with the clothes I have.
I actually loved the purple paisly blouse in its girly, ruffly form with the layered sleeves!
i audibly GASPED when i saw the outfit with the purple paisley blouse!! your minddddd
omg thank youuu this is so kind!!
AND OMG THE BOW HACK?! AND THE HALTER TOP HACK?! GREAT. You did absolutely great. All the outfits were amazing. 💕
Am I the only one who actually likes peplums? Granted, I prefer them in a more dainty, ruffly way than bussiness-y and structured, but still, I like how they look and wound't mind at all if they came back. I even feel inspired to thrift and style a peplum top now!
omg this video is so inspiring to me! I have so many old pieces that feel outdated, but you helped show me how to breathe some fun into them again :)
about the blue “peplum” top, i can totally see it on top of a little straight miniskirt with some white gogo boots. the color and silhouette felt VERY 60s to me, i’d lean into that!
I love this video concept so much!! Showing how style isn’t about trends
Girl you are actually a genius. the bows on the cold shoulder top sent me into a higher level of consciousness
I love that type of challenge! I think your process around styling pieces that weren't your choice will be useful to me when looking through my wardrobe and finding pieces that aren't quite my style anymore. It'll help give them some new life!
15:38 that light blue is really nice on you honestly the contrast with your hair is great
I love the coastal grandma look! You look so cool and comfy!
Every single outfit was a surprising masterpiece. I’m amazed and so inspired!!
I don't think you can understand how much I want that boat shirt. I'm gonna make myself one.
Your cold shoulder hack has me wanting to go thrifting for cold shoulder tops now 😅
I actually really loved the paisley outfit! I thought it looked super sweet, but it also looked great with the coat over the top as well.
You can try pinning bows to a normal T-Shirt if you want to, it might give the same sensation
You're right! I'll definitely have to try it out - thanks!@@krepieri
Aaw the butterfly top style turned out so very cute! Amazing how you did it!
The sailboat T-shirt is amazing! That alone is worth 10 bucks ❤️
You did such a good job. Absolutely loved the second outfit, especially with the purple socks and you rocked the Coastal Grandma look.
I love the top with the sailboats!
Just got home from a wonderfully exhausting weekend - this was the perfect video to chill out with. As always, I admire and am inspired by your way of styling things in unsuspected ways. I need to try stuff on backwards!
Thank you and have a great week!
I love orange. Bright and cheery. I think your coloring would like great with that orange 💛🧡
Wait, the bow trick is amazing! I actually still like cold shoulder stuff but I also love the bow trend, so I might try this. It's such a creative and cute way to wear a cold shoulder!
Edit: AND the pin for the second cold shoulder top, I love that! It really elevated the top. Your videos are truly such great fashion inspo!
styling genius!! the way you styled every cold shoulder top to actually look nice is just **mwah** especially the black one by adding the bows!
Adding the bows to the black was a clever idea. You could do that on the front of the striped top as well.
omg somehow you make it work, because i was really skeptical about how you could make them look no terrible. Like, those blouses are absolutely hideous, but you made them work so well, so good.
You killed this, I love how you were able to create such cute outfits even with minimal options! Well done. ❤
Wow, i loved several of the outfits so much! Blue paisly being my favourite!
The bows on the cold shoulder top is so cute!!! I thought there was no saving that piece but you really made it work 😊❤
Wow! You are so brave - and you made all those really awful clothes look really good. The bows on the black top are sheer genius. The materials though would prevent me from keeping most of them as I pretty much stick to only natural fabrics. Great job!
hahah thank you so much. I definitely would keep more if the fabrics were better, but only a couple comfy ones made the cute to stick around this time
You are a certified genius for the cold shoulder thrift flip
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. i always look forward to them! your channel has really changed the way I view my individual style and sustainability, i luv u mwah
you slayed this once again, those tops were so triggering as a fellow early 2010s teen but you somehow made them all look good
I am so honored by your approval as a fellow zillenial cusper
OMG I love your creativity and yes fabric feel is like the most important thing for me when dressing!
pinning the shoulders up with bows was truly genius wow
the blue top over top of the black skirt looked like a star trek uniform!!!
so many fun textures in this box! my goodwill doesn’t do mystery grab bags but hinestly i’d be too scared to get one even if they did 💀
edit: my favorite item from this bag was actually the lace grey top! i feel like the cut is soooo on trend and it could look good just as an every day top w any pants
LOL honestly I wouldn't recommend it for actual shopping but it's great for a little ~styling experiment~
totally agree on the gray shirt! I felt like I had to do more just to make it a more interesting outfit but I think it would work on it's own so well
Thanks for the effort you put into making these amazing videos!❤
The cold shoulder fix with the bows is the best!
Love this series!! Would be super interested to see you style a mystery box of men's shirts in your size, I feel like they tend to have more timeless silhouettes and could be cool to see some more androgynous outfits :)
wait I'm so gonna try that shoulder bow hack omg. the thrift stores near me still have so many early 2010s cold shoulder tops that I've been avoiding
The bow trick is genius! I never buy anything cold shoulder but if I see something cold shoulder that's otherwise cute I will definitely keep in mind
The 2nd outfit is my favorite!
Wow! Great styling! This is my first time watching your video. I love that peasant cream top with the black panel of buttons. I think it’s cool because it’s different and unique. You styled it really well.
uhhh the cold shoulder flip and the orange top with that purple/orange scarf are fantastic. genius. and yes, though it's not my cup of tea, you did great with the little j-fashion look!

the bow cold shoulder trick is so so smart and cute! i also loved the look you put together with the purple paisley blouse
Great video. Creative!
You inspired me to pick up some silver loafers.❤🙂
Obsessed w fits 1,3, and 4 in particular 😍
The bow tie on the cold shoulder looks nice!
Cute idea for reworking the black cold shoulder top! And I actually loved the purple frilly top over the white without the jacket😂 you surprised me how cute you made it look!
100% successful ! I hated most of the tops but you made it work, magically !
Loved a lot of these outfits! I'm working on trying to get more out of the clothes I own, so strategies for overcoming underwhelming pieces with styling are treasured. 15:53 I wish those jeans were a little lighter and more purple/less saturated but the silhouettes were lovely
Great job! You're so creative!
Funnily enough, that second last top was my favorite :D
Suddenly it's 2009 and I'm 16 again 🙈🙈
I definitely had some version of all of those shirts (not including the cold shoulder ones, never felt comfortable in those)
That cornflower blue lace tee with the cap sleeves IS STILL ADORABLE tho, and I stand by it!
The sailboat shirt is actually good. Whaaaatttttt
Omg I loved the coastal grandma outfit. How cute lol
I would wear everything. Honestly, your ideas mare every item totaly wearable. 👏👏👏
the bow hack on the cold shoulder was genius!
Your cold-shoulder hack is truly genius!
turning tops from 10 years ago makes them surprisingly modern, ive been doing that to a lot of thrift acquisitions recently too
/shudders in cold shoulder/ as a plus size girlie who lived through the 2010s, I can never look at peplum and cold shoulders the same way again.

Seeing so many of these pieces makes me take a moment and realize how outdated things that used to be normal are. Just a weird type of nostalgia for a lot of pieces I would have liked to wear
Whoa! That went better than I expected. Good job!
Omg everything is so late 2000's to early 2010's! I remember these styles being popular when I was in middle school and high school!
totally same lol it's such a blast from the past trying to update them!
Love your video! I have worn dress backwards and it works for me!
Very creative, loved the stylings! 💥
I wish you were at home for some of these tops, the bold patterns would be fun to pattern mix with!
Every outfit is a slay! I remember having those style tops back in the day....cringe. But you did a great job modernizing them!
The second look though! Love the striped shirt under that top. You continue to inspire me to play with my style!
I liked the grandma shirt and fruits inspired outfits! Also, I think the orange eyelet top would have worked with the other pieces from the monochrome outfit too.
I wanna see your shoe collection so bad
i never expected the silver loafers but i love them!!
The outfit with the purple paisley top was great! I totally get it not being your personal style, but believe me it looked sooo cute.
I wish they offered this at my local goodwills!!!
The third item is so cute!
Loved your style so so much!!!
