Along with "Fanfare for the common man" this is the greatest piece of music ever composed. Forget Mozart, Beethoven, etc, etc this stirs the heart and mind on a level no other could...Thankyou Vangehlis, you are a true master of music....
This isn't even in the same ballpark as Beethoven and Mozart. sure this is a nice piece, but that's all it is. its a bit repetitive and the electronic percussion gets annoying. and there is practically no variety harmonically. Don't get me wrong, I love this. But Beethoven and Mozart etc are infinitely better.

And their music many times engineering structures of the main melody which many times take away from the inspiration. The grand amazing melodies in Vangelis' repertoire could perhaps be even more if not comparable to the great melodies of Mozart of Beethoven. Vangelis is after all a Mozart level genius anyway for someone who has researched this man's life. Almost all of his pieces are first take and their duration, even for one hour pieces, equals the total time it took to compose.
