Good job. I had to laugh when you mentioned childhood memories of scraping wallpaper, I too have memories of that but my parents sort of tricked us into helping because they somehow hid coins behind some of the wallpaper and they fell out when we scraped so it became a game.

great looking but next time I would advice scoring the caulk line on top of the baseboards. Hurt my eyes seeing you damaging the drywall.

I like your use of wood, rather than MDF. I’ve used MDF for board and batten accents in my entry. Wood looks richer.

I’ve done this in a small bathroom. It made it even smaller. Don’t do it. I promise you will regret it.

Obviously, we’re already done. 😂 But we actually think it makes the room feel a lot larger! The vertical boards seem to add dimension 👍🏼 There are lots of variables with board and batten though, like how tall it is, how far apart the boards are, and the colors used!
