I just upgraded my bike from a 2016 dyna street bob with a 103. Don't get me wrong I love the 103 on the dyna that only weighs 650lbs and change. I got a 2017 Road Glide with the 107. It was a trade in with 6700 miles on it. It's still at the dealer getting a couple of extras installed. I did notice that the seat height is lower then the previous Road Glides which I'm excited about because I'm only 5'5". It's January now and I got a couple of more months before I can take it for a ride.
Like usual awesome videos. I just upgraded from the 16 cvo to the 17 cvo and its surprisingly night and day ride. I loved the 16 but damn Harley done their homework with improving this bike. Thanks for the video.

As a Retired Harley-Davidson Service Manager i LOVE the new Suspension, love the new Transmission (though it's so quiet that gonna need a gear indicator !! ) i love the fact they went back to ONE CAM !! BUT Very Disappointed with the power, with 4 valves per jug, i thought it would have the power of the big Yamaha's (Roadstar and Stratoliner) but it's not even close. Hate that you have to Remove the Fuel Tank to change the Spark Plugs and they couldn't make up their mind on cooling, some have oil only, and some have water and oil cooling............Lastly STAY AWAY for the 1st few years, a Reminder the new a few years ago Rushmore bikes had over 8 RECALLS
Very good info Bruce and thanks for being involved here in the community. All I will say is yah, have to remove the fuel tank to remove plugs, but that takes like 5 minutes. We have several free vids on this channel showing how. And I bet it's only like every 30-50 change at best. It is weird on the oil/water cool change up etc...agreed. Ride safe!
I bought a 2017 Road King and I love it. I only have a couple hundred miles on it, but the ride is incredible. I imagine it's going to be too quite and too smooth for many people's liking. Many people trade out pipes anyways, so I imagine that won't be a big deal.
Ryan, today is May 2021, have the M8 problems been resolved? I want a Harley M8 107 bike , but - are they still; having issues? I've owned 10 bikes in my life. The last one was a GoldWing. I always wanted a Harley and I Want a Harley. I do not like the indian and I do not want another GW......Any advise? Thanks for the Awesome Videos.
Great job on the video. love the detail and hard work you put in. I'll be in the market for one in the spring to replace my 14 SGS. Too bad the exhaust off previous yrs won't work tho. One thing i did notice on the 17s is they aren't pin striped like the previous SGS.
You betcha and thanks for shout out on the video. Much work goes into the vids. Certainly hoping they help other bikers out there. Yes, the exhaust will be different.
I have a 2017 Street Glide special. After running Ultras for years, knee's are rusty, time to downsize. Bike runs like a ban chi . It still feels and runs like a harley . Had chrome front end, lowers , heated grips.

Good stuff. I live on the American River, and in the mid 70's rode my first Honda 50, and Yamaha along the river, and we could shoot squirrels back then, not soo much now. I'm looking at the BMW S1000XR andone of the new Harleys, I just might get both for my retirement. I hope I'm not outta line, but I suggestedShawn Smoak check your site out, as he is a techy at Pro Caliber Motorsports (Vancover). I've been following you both and sent him your site. one thing you missed on the exhaust the inlet on the mufflers are different sizes the riders right side is bigger than the left side so you are limited to harley sold mufflers an older exhaust will not work on the new bike and the o2's are high mounts now
Thanks one more time Ryan. That's a very good presentation. However I"ll keep my FLHTK 2014. It's going very well, powerful enough and doesn't have the ambition to run like a wannabe Goldwing.
You're welcome Wowowo Rider. Love getting feedback after working hard on these vids for all you bikers out there. I love my 2014 SGS too. Same bike as the 2017, just the 107 ci difference. I'm hanging onto my 14 for now. Of course if I was made of money..............heck I'd upgrade..... :-)
I have a "14" Road King, on the new 107, one thing I noticed, check it out , is the right rear cylinder spark plug change, Huummm ?????...I test rode the new 107..Road King, nice and all, but is it enough for me to run out and buy it now, not quite sure ??
I totally hear you on that. Of course if I was loaded I'd go buy one. But heck, I love my 2014 SGS so much and it's really the same bike except a 103 compared to the 107.......I'm gonna keep riding my 2014. Thanks for weighing in
Im curious if you know or have heard anything about an upgrade kit for older Harleys(16 - earlier) to upgrade the older suspension on my 16 to the 17 suspension. I have the ultra limited. I wish I could get a consistent answer on the best way to break in a Milwaukee Eight. I spoke to five different dealers and have gotten five different answers. The Internet is not a whole lot better. How did you break your's in? Would you change anything if you got another Milwaukee eight tomorrow?
I break in all my bikes the same. I ride them hard right away, just like I'm going to ride them normally. Truth be told, many HD mechanics will tell you that outside of the shop. They are just bound to tell you other things based on the directions they receive from Harley. Just like the oils they recommend. Many use Amsoil, but have to push the HD brand when at work.
I wish I had the money. Heck, I'd upgrade if I was loaded. But, I love my 2014 SGS. Same bike, just different motor. Maybe HD should sponsor me with a new bike since I make videos of their bikes and get the views....LMAO. Dreaming.............Thanks for watching.
Right now, I'm thinking no. I'll stick for now with my 2014 SGS. Now, if I was rich and money was not an issue....he'll yah, I'd get one. Thanks for watching.

Waiting for them to actually re-style the bike. Just can't get excited about that faring and boxy bags. Tank is too wide by the seat. The seats don't fit me all that well either...I think my nads are just too big and get crushed against the front of the seat.
Hey man! I traded in my 2014' Road King for a 2017' Road Glide Special, Purple Flake Hard Candy Custom paint. I LOVED my Road King and didn't think for a minute that what HD did could have made THAT much of a difference. Had absolutely no plans at all to even consider trading in my FLHR until I saw this hot rod. Holy S@! I HAD to have this bike! You hit all the major points that I've been trying to explain to my rider buddies and it's almost as no one can really believe just how many upgrades HD rolled out in the same year! The ONLY word you could have added to your outstanding review is...........torque! lol Right? The torque on this "tight" (great description) rocket is SICK! The other immediate thing I noticed---lovingly, is the thinner profile of the engine due to the single cam redesign. I have a short inseam, and straddling that bad boy is so much easier, less bow legged feel, which in turn helps the rider "hug" the bike even tighter with your legs, hence adds to that "tight" confident feel you have deep in the saddle. Thanks man for the killer review. Coming to you as an expat working/living near Hiroshima Japan. Living/riding with some cool Japanese Harley riders that add to the great vibe of being on my "Purple Torque Beast" (little quiet for the Japanese market so I've got some Cobra Power Flo's on the way). Cheers from the Land of the Rising Sun..........Jeff

Indian is a great bike and Victory too. Industry records still show Harley is outselling them. The Street Glide has been the #1 selling motorcycle for a ton of years now and that continues. Nobody has been able to beat the Street Glide sales.
Two spark plugs is a joke, just so you can pay more out of pocket to the dealer, they are now going to water cooled bike's, so many call backs on the new motor for over heating issues. Water cooled bikes are the only way to go, they just cant catch up to the to the technology that all bike builders know, air cooled bike's get too hot.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Definitely a fine line for Harley not to make the bikes like the "others". They would loose a huge share of the market if they were to just make their bikes like everyone else. The bike is an extension of the rider's soul. As deomonstrated, HD holds the market share of sales in the US for so many years for a reason. The Street Glide is the best selling bike in the US for a ton of years now. We support all bikes here of course...............Bikers clearly like what HD is doing.....
Extension of a riders soul, what a load of crap, you swallowed the hype hook line & sinker, nothing like pulling up to a light & 4 other guys have a bike just like you do. Your analogy is, VW must be the best car builder, they sell the most units.
My personal thoughts. I LOVE MY HARLEY but i think Harley holds off on new products to push riders into always wanting to trade for the bigger better thing.. Harley STOP and hear what he people say and get it right. I'm sure my 2014 will ride and get me to where i need to go for the next 5 yrs.. but like cell phones its always the next best thing that people will buy.
Nothing to be sorry about. Each rider gets to make their own decision about what they want to ride and we support all. Not always about speed.......there's much more than that. A motorcycle is about soul. It's an extension of the rider. Ride safe
Here we go again, all the video's on the new Harleys making a big thing out of absolutely nothing. Its all been done before decades ago. Perhaps its all about the name on the gas tank, what else can it be,.....yawnnnnnnn.
Thanks for watching. As long as it has two wheels......we support all makes and models of bikes here. The bike is an exentsion of the rider's soul and each biker chooses a different make and model. For those interested in HD then it is relavant to them for sure.
There will be a place in heaven for every Harley rider.
Ride through the pearly gates on a Harley.
yep they will always need somebody to make the coffee and sweep up.
Hope ur right?
Not unless u obey acts 2:38 honestly...

Very cool, we'll do
With a stage 2, s&s lifters and push rods, full exhaust, external crankcase breather and finally a custom tune (not by HD) then its a good motor!!

Good info, but the aftermarket are developing pipes to work. Huge market for that. Just take a bit for them to catch up.
thx I was just stating that so guys won't think 12-16 stuff will work on the 17+ because the used parts sales are huge on street glide Facebook pages

Love this bike and have no desire at this point on seeing it go so i would like to customize this one. I love the way the new suspension handles.
If you're talking front? and back? I have not heard of an upgrade kit for either yet.....But I have not done any real research either.....
Chad Mock talk to the dealer..
My 2017 M8, 107ci, has just started to transfer gearbox oil to the primary chain case. Any ideas on how to fix?
There is a recall. Take it to your local dealer.

What song is used at the beginning & end of the video? Thanks for posting, very informative as always!
It's in the credits at the end of the video Thomas. Thanks for watching.
Doh! Thanks Ryan
No prob Thomas.
Nice video Ryan.
So....is the 2017 that good? Enough for you to trade in your 2014 and buy it?
I wish I had the money. Heck, I'd upgrade if I was loaded. But, I love my 2014 SGS. Same bike, just different motor. Maybe HD should sponsor me with a new bike since I make videos of their bikes and get the views....LMAO. Dreaming.............Thanks for watching.
Do you still have to remove the primary to replace the belt??
Yup. Nothing changed there. Motor different (size etc). The trans and everything is basically the same.
Ryan Urlacher Indian here i come
Rock on. I ride w/ some that have Indians. Great bikes.
Ryan Urlacher Or maybe just a tricked out sportster lol Thanks for replying to me, not alot of channels do :)
Home run harley davidson!
Hello Ryan. Great videos. Would you trade yours for one of the new models?
Right now, I'm thinking no. I'll stick for now with my 2014 SGS. Now, if I was rich and money was not an issue....he'll yah, I'd get one. Thanks for watching.
Wish you would have cranked it up so we could hear how it sounds, all the great info and review but never got to hear it.
Tough to really translate sound through a video mic and RUclips.
I bought the 2019 FLTRX (107)...and yes, I got a woodie.
I luv my 2018 road king. Very nice ride.
Hell yah!

Waiting for them to actually re-style the bike. Just can't get excited about that faring and boxy bags. Tank is too wide by the seat. The seats don't fit me all that well either...I think my nads are just too big and get crushed against the front of the seat.
Maybe you need to lose some weight
Jeff, thanks for all the input. Good info on the slimmer profile.

Milwaukee 8. An engine other motorcycle companies have been using for the past 20-30 years.
DJGENOTYPE what other manufacturers use a 4 valve pushrod engine??
The Milwaukee 8 isn't 4 valve. It's 8.
DJGENOTYPE I meant 4 valve per head, my bad
Keegan Bray yes 4 valves per head. Been a used on other manufacturer bikes for years now. But this tech is new to Harley guys.
Just bought one!!!!
You lucky dog!!!!!! Enjoy the heck out of it
fire it up!
I did. check out all our videos: ruclips.net/video/i1IUUaPA-fA/видео.html
just got 20 Street Glide run so smooth from my 17 heritage runs a lot cooler
good old Yakima
Yaki-vegas!
I think the Milwaukee 8 sucks but that's just my opinion To each their own
The Fat Boy wont get this engine will it?
The 2017 Fatboy comes with the 103 cubic inch motor
Indian has been kickn HD ASS .
Indian is a great bike and Victory too. Industry records still show Harley is outselling them. The Street Glide has been the #1 selling motorcycle for a ton of years now and that continues. Nobody has been able to beat the Street Glide sales.
They don't seem to run as hot...
Yah, HD is is definitely wise to marketing. They keep the desire for riders to always upgrade.
Nope. I am not stoked for the new Milwaukee 8 motor.
i own a 2006 suzuki m109r and recently smoked one of these bikes...harleys look nice but thats about it, sorry guys.
Nothing to be sorry about. Each rider gets to make their own decision about what they want to ride and we support all. Not always about speed.......there's much more than that. A motorcycle is about soul. It's an extension of the rider. Ride safe
1993transam1 you smoked a dresser? Good job lol. Different philosophies behind the 2 bikes. You should be racing V rods not street glides.
New shocks absolutely suck, these bikes ride like crap, back breakers
doesn't look that great
