I’ve used Final Cut for years to make short videos for non-profits I believed in for years (for free). Because I’ve decided to get back into filmmaking, I searched online to find out what Final Cut looks like these days.
This one is excellent. It covers just enough detail and is at the same time, just simple enough to make clear how the app now works and how I can use it. It employs the best teaching techniques (and I was once a teacher) and the best presentation techniques (and I was a technical writer and documentation leader for a
major software company) so I know of what I speak. This is is one of the best online tutorials I’ve ever seen. Kudos!

Question for you , so I have a timeline sequence with all clips etc. then there is one clip in the middle I want to delete, I hit delete but it also deletes the “unattached audio” below with it. Now this confuses me bc it is unattached why is it deleted that audio clip too? And is there a way to delete just the video portion without deleting the unattached audio?
Reason I ask is bc I know it the timeline gets squished together to make up for the missing video clip , but I would just replace it with either black or another clip later

The video portion of this was very good.
HOWEVER - Your commentary has a VERY irritating issue.
I counted over 100 uses of the term 'YA KNOW'.

Hint: Practice your dialogue so you don't need to say YA KNOW

Question about Epidemic sound. Does RUclips flag your video in "Restriction" section with copyright? If you check details it says:"The Content ID claim on your video doesn't affect your channel. This is not a copyright strike." So, they don't remove your video, but I think you'll get less paid, because partially your profit with go the the music creator. I'm asking because I used "free" tracks in some of my videos. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm new to it:)

This video was ideal! Easy to follow, straight to the point, perfect little FCPX tutorial.
Question... When you change the speed of a clip like you showed here, does that have any effect on the timeline?
For example, if I've set the project up as 4k25fps, and my footage is in 25fps, what will the speeding up or slowing down do?
I think it'd be allrght if it was exactly doubled, as 50fps would fit on the 25fps timeline?
But if you dragged clips to random percentages of the original speed, like shown here, what would that do and how would that affect the timeline overall? (Hope that makes sense?)
Are you planning on doing any more FCPX videos?
You mentioned a more in depth tutorial on colouring perhaps?
Also, do you know what is the Apple programme named Motion?
Is it Apple's version of After Effects (Like if FCPX is Apple's Premiere?)
I have tried repeatedly but just don't get on with Premiere, & I am seemingly really enjoying FCPX so far, so I think Motion could be of interest going forward if I'm correct in thinking what it is.
    Cheers man.
Really good & helpful little intro tutorial...
    Subbed! ;)

is not better to import the whole folder that way all gets organized when imported? Saw a video where doing that save a lot of time searching for footage when big projects or with lots of images or conten for the video. is it easy to use the content draging all to the same event? shall I use several projects whitin the same library or create different library for each project? :(

I have used adobe premier and I have played a little with daVinci resolve.. I would say that having a 1 time fee would actually be much better then a subscription... two questions: does final cut have text to speech? text to speech is a big part of my videos and it feels weird that clipchamp has text to speech but final cut does not 😂 i just got final cut a couple days ago and it is infinitely better than clipchamp (my goodness clipchamp is miserable haha) but am still learning the basics as you can likely tell haha
and then second question: is there a way to easily resize video files within the frame so i can have like two or any number multiple (any number more than one clip haha) videos playing in the same video (after cropping) - this was probably the best feature that clipchamp had that i am having a hard time recreating in final cut 😔
i am an extreme noob, so please speak in noob-friendly terminology if someone responds to this comment, and if not - great video!

I know that this question is completely random, but I wanted to ask someone how to do a certain effect in FCP X. I want to find a way that I would be able to picture in picture effect. More like you show a couple people standing there while a different angle of the same shot is just behind them and almost transparent, kind of like they used to do for school pictures for kids. Wanted to see if there was a way to create that background effect and also control the amount of fade or transparency? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
