- PC gamer but want to use that New PS5 Controller on your PC? Maybe a PS5 Controller on the new Xbox? Well so did I, and thankfully, 8BitDo created an updated version of its wireless bluetooth adapter that allows just that! A relatively straight forward plug and play device, watch this video to see how to use it, and see it in action!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Great video - straight to the point no bs. I've been through 3 different amazon/ebay bluetooth dongles and they keep failing on me for whatever reason (totally unreliable).

I was fighting with configuring my PlayStation five controller to the adapter. I couldn’t understand why it wouldn’t stay connected for the PlayStation app
It worked well for any other software for PC gaming, but when it came to the PlayStation app, it was not staying connected
By following your steps precisely , like turning on the Bluetooth from the controller first before plugging in the adapter, finally got it to work and sync up

One year later, are you still using the PS5 controller with the 8bitdo dongle or are you using a direct Bluetooth connection on the PC?
It still works but I grew too really like my 8bitdo ultimate controller.
But when that dies or acts weird which is rarely, I use the ps5 controller.

YES!! It works on everything, including a Raspberry PI 3 AND 4 as I have learned!!
hey stupid question what is the polling rate for the ps5 controller on the dongle? Does this work with steam input?
Does the gyro work? If both are decent and latency isn't to bad I could see this working on my moonlight setup.
@maxmeyers771 if you want a controller that works with gyro you need the 8bitdo ultimate controller but the BLACK ONE. It connects via its own 2.4ghz dongle and is totally a solid priced item at around 60 bucks on Amazon
@ILLtv4K yeah i was looking into that for the back buttons! I also finally got my ds4 working wirh my virtualhere moonlight setup properly so im gonna play around with that as well. Right now im using tbe steam controller which has been good for me but not my wife.
@maxmeyers771 honestly I've been using 8bitdo since 2017 and love all their products. The ultimate is a great all around controller with no issues
When i try to pair on pc with switch pro it just disconnects and reconnects to the pc when pressing and releasing the pair button.

Does the special dualsense feature like haptic feedback and adaptive trrigers work when connected to pc for dualsense supported games. it works via usb-c. but does it work via this 8bit dongle ?
That only works when it's connected with a usb cable..for me at least

I do not believe so BUT when I would plug my ps5 controller in via USB it would do this, and even worked with the mic, but IDK if that still happens as this was a few years ago and things change etc

Yes. It does. Same rules apply across the board on how to get things to work. Totally will make a 8bitdo work. Tho my ps5 didn't need the thing as it connected to the controller anyway but I'm not sure on Xbox. Hope that helps

I have bought 2 dongles and i have 2 Xbox series controllers,the 1 controller connect's with the 1 dongle, but the 2nd controller doesn't connect with the 2nd dongle,any idea why is that? And how i can connect the second controller with the second dongle??
Sounds like that 2nd dongle is defective my friend.
Quick Question!! When U connected the SN30Pro bluetooth controller, how does it read the ABXY?? And if U know, if I plug it to PC, will it read ABXY as BAYX or what?? Because usually, when I connect my pro controller to my PC and play pc games, the ABXY gets mixed and I get either confused or uncomfortable.
Yeah i had this issue too, it does not even register as anythign but an Xbox controller, there IS an sn30 contoller with xbox button layout on it, and is currently the only solution to that dilema
Was interested in playing w an Xbox elite 2 controller on ps5 I was looking at the bigbigwon r100pro but it only plays ps4 games on ps5 so I was also looking at the 8bitdo adapter 2. Can an Xbox elite with that play ‘PS5 games’ on the ps5? Is this something you can check out w your current setup? And your saying w these adaptors they don’t control the main screens only the games? I’d really like to know the better of the 2. Thanks.
Hi!! So yes, you could use an elite controller on your ps5 with this. Totally possible and controls everything just fine
The main menu controls also work fine, the issue was my adapter was player 2 on my ps5 for this video, as the regular ps5 controller I had connected first before I started filming.
The ps5 will make whatever controller it detected first, player one. Kinda confusing but it will work fine
@@ILLtv4K Strange. It’s weird bc I believe you but since this comment I’ve read the Amazon page and it says ps5 (along w ps4 and Xbox consoles) are NOT supported? Not to mention I CANT FIND ONE video with this 8bitdo adaptor 2 working for this configuration, they’re all for switch (or pc). Sorry I don’t want to doubt what you very may well have just genuinely confirmed, you sure!? I just want to be really sure. Maybe it’s a recent firmware problem 🤷♂️ that’s yours isn’t updated to…? And you’re saying it DOES play ‘ps5 exclusive games’ on ps5, not just the cross ps4 gen stuff? Really thanks a lot. I’m just needing to double my confirmation after the information that’s supposed to be official I’ve come recently across. Btw I was always under the impression that windows could already pair through Bluetooth w the Xbox controllers and the DualSense, apparently you need an adaptor for that too? Thanks
@@ChiquitaSpeaks so this works off of a Bluetooth connection of course. It creates its own BT signal, and then turns itself into an input. It's worked on my ps5, but it was only for player 2. That's because I had a ps5 controller turned on for player 1 in the video. If you turn on the system and pair the controller first before you turn on the os5 controller this SHOULD be player 1 and control everything
For the pc,I had issues connecting any Bluetooth controller to my PC and keeping it connected, and I don't have a cheap setup, is a 5k build, and this thing, fixed all my problems.

Ok the cool thing is, i actually have that fight stick and have a video on here of me modding it with better buttons and joystick (Sanwa Upgrades)
BUT, the 8bitdo arcade stick comes with its own adapter meant for 2.4ghz connection, that works on the PS5, whats even cooler is you CAN use it on bluetooth via a switch on the arcade stick. On my PC ive used both the included 2.4ghz connection that came with the arcade stick and switched it over to bluetooth and used the adapter listed here in this video
That being said, you should NOT need this adapter to use the arcade stick on the ps5, the included 2.4ghz adapter that comes with the arcade stick should work fine, and is actually a faster connection.
@@ILLtv4K could you give it a try? Connecting the 8bitdo arcade stick on the ps5? It would be really helpful to know for sure, this is the only available stick in my country at the moment at an affordable price and I really want to get it for Tekken 8

Hey my friend, I looked into, and tried to se if my ps5 would work with 8bitdo fight stick and sadly, i was VERY wrong so i apologize for that on my behalf. It seems sony is increasingly difficult to find fight sticks for, but a quick google search willshow you which fight sticks DO work with a ps5, i hope you can find one! I have an 8bitdo arcade stick that comes with a dongle itself so ive never had to use this adapter for a ps4 fightstick, but Id imagine it SHOULD work with ease.
Can I leave the the usb dongle in pc all the time even if I am not using because I was thinking about leaving it in my pc USB port even when my pc is asleep

You might have a defective unit. I hate to say it but return it and try another one.
I got mine and my ps4 controller works WONDERS on the switch...only one small problem...i haven't been able to connect the ps4 controller back to the ps4 for whatever reason...i haven't found a solution yet...i tried different cables different methods nothing...the controller still turns on just fine and it still works on the switch...i just can't connect it back to the ps4....any solution please help
Have you been making sure to unplug the USB Adapter so the ps4 controller doesn't connect to it instead of the ps4?
@@ILLtv4K yep. and the controller flashes when i press the button like normal but it refuses to connect to the ps4 even with a cable connected to it
try stickin paperclip into the tiny hole in back of the controller , heard thats the hard reset
My ps5 controller just disconnects itself right after it connects.
Have you tried other controllers, or changing the USB ports? I had a USB port go bad on me and that messed with it
Also if you haven't try resetting the ps5 controller firstly
Does Steam recognizes your controller as PS5 Controller or just xbox controller when using this adapter?
It seems to recognize it as just a non specific contortoller. Like i think it just says game pad but it still refers to buttons in game as an Xbox controller
I have a problem, I have windows 11 and my 8bit do Pro 2 does not work with bluetooth, it only works with cable. At first I thought the bluetooth was wrong but when I connect the controller with my mobile phone via bluetooth everything works fine. And I have already installed the software and driver Please help!!!
When you say 8bitdo pro 2 you mean the controller yes? If so, this item will connect that controller with no issues as I use it with my 8bit SN30Pro Controller. I had the SAME issue with my PC until I bought this Item, and it fixed my issues. Hope this helps!!
@@ILLtv4K But the connection was supposed to be via bluetooth, so it should be compatible. And I have seen that they connect without problems in Windows 10, my problem is because I have Windows 11. If you know a solution for the connection with Windows 11 that is not using that adapter, please let me know. Greetings.

Does it automatically pair so i dont have to go throught the ps button + share every time?
for the ps5 controller, you gotta turn it on like that so it enables the bluetooth in the controller. otherwise it just looks for the PS5 signal which is of course, a unique pairing to that if I am correct.

Default Xbox buttons on the pc if that's what you're asking.

No that would be a ps5 hardware exclusive. They're working on making that happen atm however

Not at all! Totally lag free, but i did learn, despite the technical marvel the PS5 controller is, i DO prefer my 8bitdo sn30 more cause its got less stick travel in the analog sticks
But aside from a PERSONAL preference, i had, and felt, no technical issues what so ever. 10/10 recommend

Hmm, thats a good question! if you can connect one you should be able to use 2. I can use my ps5 controller with this adapter, and still use that mini dongle you saw on my arcade stick in this video, and get it to be 2 player. BUT, that's also because that arcade stick dongle is connected via 2.4ghz connection, exclusive to the joystick, so take that for what its worth. i THINK it should work . Buy it off amazon and return it if it doesnt work in all honesty

I am yet to hear issues of this not working with xbox or any systems outrig, but with how weird system updates are these days, I am never sure on that still being the case etc. @@Skippernomnomnom

Does the headset work through the audio jack on the controller?
have not had that luck, but with a PS5 controller and connected directly to the with a wire, it works for Back 4 Blood

I dont believe so as thats actually a 2.4ghz controller that comes with its own dongle. Do they make a BT version of it before i say no completely?

Most fight sticks come with a USB dongle, at least my 8bitdo one did

Actually that's what I use it for. Steam in my PC. That game you see me playing on TV, is a game from steam.

You might not believe me, but when i had this issue, it was cause my controller wasnt charged at all and i kept trying to use it. your controller fully charged?
and did a reset help?

@@jadensuarez5399 yes, i had an issue where the controller would connect then disconnect, only to find out, i had adead controller, tried it with a nother ps5 controller and had no issues, BUT theres a reset button on your PS5 controller on the backi think, little pin hole, that if you put a clip in there and hold it, it will reset the controller as well if you didnt try that already

It's STILL Bluetooth but it's a MUCH better receiver then anything you get out of the box from a PC.... oh and it ACTUALLY works ALL the time.

I can easily explain that to you my friend. Turn your Xbox Controller on to Bluetooth mode for x input. Then plug in your 8bitdo USB stick. Press the button on the USB stick like your see in my video here, and your Controller should pair up no issues

Ps5 controller can use jack audio?
You CAN use it with the ps5 wired in but it seems nobody can get a receiver that let's it work with the audio wireless.
