What’s the most important feature you look for in a gaming mouse?

      Multi side buttons

My list from most important to least important.
      1) Weight
      2) Longevity (especially the scroll wheel)
      3) Good sensor (3370 or better)
      4) Optical switches
      5) Battery life
      6) Looks (mostly the color, the way it matches with my setup)
      7) Good PTFE feet (slides)
      8) Latency
      9) 1k+ Polling rate
      10) Compatibility (I use windows so it is not that important)

Before I had Logitech G604 which sadly was discontinued (I would buy it again tbh if I could) and I needed a new one. Then I tried this mouse, Logitech G502 X Plus, but to me it felt terrible compared to the old one - the mouse itself and clicks were OK enough, but the something didn't feel right and the biggest deal breaker was the abysmal plastic scroll wheel. I don't only game, I also work on my PC and scroll a lot. G604 had metal wheel which supported infinite scrolling, had enough weight in it so it really worked quite nice. Also G502 X lacks of Bluetooth... I settled on Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, which to me feels a lot better, the scroll wheel is also infinite and has very similar feel to G604 which I like and has Bluetooth.
Logitech G502 X Plus is not a bad mouse per se, but it certainly is not "a mouse for everything". Razer Basilisk V3 Pro >>> Logitech G502 X. Btw if you're mainly working, no gaming at all or only play slower paced games (not FPS), just get MX Master 3S.

When it came time to replace the G604 the Basilisk V3 Pro was a strong contender, hence the back and forth, but I ultimately ended with the G502 X Plus. Would be keen to try the Basilisk for a while and do a comparison 👍🏼

I wanted to like the Basilisk V3 Pro, but Razer’s Hyperspeed dongles are so fidgety, they only work when they want to. When it works, it’s a great mouse. The form factor is actually perfect for my hand shape, and the feet glide so smoothly on my mousepad (a Steelseries QcK). But 9/10 times, I’d have Synapse open to try to get a connection to the mouse, and it just wouldn’t detect it, and the moving the mouse didn’t move the cursor.
I had the same experience with the Deathstalker V2 Pro keyboard. Typing on it felt great, design was sleek. Would constantly lose connection through wireless. Both devices worked with a USB cable, but that defeats the purpose of buying expensive wireless devices.
The G502 X Plus and G915 X on the other hand, always work without issue.
Basilisk was more comfortable and Deathstalker looked cleaner, but they weren’t worth the headache for me. Had to return both.

@@neko_samurai that's really weird. Didn't you have the dongle plugged in near another RF antenna? When I had it right next to another wireless dongle (Logitech) in a USB hub it was finicky - so I used the cable and adapter for the dongle to move it away and now it works perfectly.

@@adamkoxxl Nope, in both cases, I made it a point to only have one dongle connected for that reason. I didn’t want to cause any interference nor did I just want to mismatch brands.
But it didn’t matter if I used both the Basilisk and Deathstalker on one dongle, or whether I only connected one device with either dongle, both Hyperspeed dongles had the same issue with both devices. Shame, because I can’t understate how perfectly molded the Basilisk is for my hand. It and G502 X have similar shapes, but there’s something about the bump on the Basilisk… not sure if it’s taller or just pushed further back, but it molds under my palm just right. The pinky and ring finger rests felt great too.
