Then please do share some tips on what you use them for 😇 Personaly I found the "sniper" button great for DPI shift for more precise masking or retouching. But besides that, I never really put in the effort to fully utilize application profiles and create some custom button assignments 😅
Awesome video... Although I'm running pretty late on viewership... How is it performing until now? I was thinking of getting one for myself....and in case of the basilisk v3 pro will it last longer?
@@tomasreomedia I a similar mouse for After Effects. I used the buttons to center anchor points, center/allign objects, cut layers, split layers, ctrl-z and probably more. I haven't used it in a long time. In Photoshop I would probably bind my 3-4 most used tools to the side buttons, then one for applying a mask, if possible maybe bind an action (I believe that's what Photoshop's macro's are called?) to a button if you use those often.
To me what makes the G502 so appealing is that it rides the line of productivity and gaming so well. It has most of the ergonomics, buttons and features of the MX master but the sensor and wireless latency of a G pro wireless. Kind of like a BMW M5, the comfort, features and usability or an executive car but the engine and steering of a sports car.
This is very true! I wish they kept the G502 mouse paddles the same on the new variant. It works out poorly for people with thick fingers like me. Also wish it was a little cheaper
Extremely underrated channel. Man just tells it as it is. No BS. Amazing job! It's exhausting to watch a 30 min video of people reading from the spec official website and call it a review. "Ffs just tell me why it sucks or why I should buy it!"
Thank you so much! I try my best to be objective with the equipment. I'm glad you noticed. Thanks for the kind words, friend. Comments like these keep me going. I should have more content coming soon!
13 buttons are great specially when editing videos and photos. Had the G502 Lightspeed and once i got used to it, my editing speed increased by a good amount
Yes. It works extremely well for developers and web users -- browser back, forward, close tab, developer tools, refresh, etc. plus editing commands undo/redo, search, cut, paste, etc.
I do use most of the programmable buttons on the g502 Hero, which technically has 13 programmable buttons. When I'm editing videos, I'm using standard left and right clicks (2), DPI shift (3), play/pause (4), cut and select tools (6), fast forward (7), delete (8), scroll right and left (10), scroll up and down channels (12) and occasionally use middle mouse for saving (13), but usually do it with my keyboard. It is incredibly efficient for niche applications, but for most games or normal computer workflow 13 buttons is overkill.
Although I agree that 13 buttons is overkill for gaming (except maybe some strategy games), but it's still nice to have more options for which button you want to use, based on feel & comfort.
while i watched ths video, i expected ur subscriber count to be somewhere closer to 379 THOUSAND rather than just 379, u have the quality of a top review channel, absolutely amazing, ukw, make it 380
I'm using every single button on PUBG, sniper button for discord push to talk, G4 and G5 for crouch and hold aim, G8 and G7 for map and meds, G9 for ping, and scroll left and scroll right to switch weapons
here's my two cents. The g502 has defintely checked all the bars for me. I am a competitive FPS who has hit masters In Apex Legends. I used to use a g502 originally that was modded with better switches with removed post travel, the mouse was drilled for maximum weight reduction. I actually use the the dpi switch buttons. I use them to switch weapons, because on apex i am only going to be switching two weapons. and use the sniper button to loot. and one of the side buttons are for hold crouch and an ability. this works for me so I can switch weapons while aiming, crouch while moving, or use an ability. This allows me to focus on my movement with my keys with no important buttons being near my movement keys. I play with 3 fingers on my mouse, one to shoot, what to jump with scrollwheel, and one to aim. i use everything on my mouse so i can aim at you while i am changing, dodging, using an ability or jumping away. I just got a g502x without rgb and it weighs the same at my weight reduction moddeed g502 original. My movement in apex is above most players i go against, along with my aim. The weight is definitely managible and adds stopping power so i can use a high dpi and high sense to loot quick and move around fast as well. Its really working for me. Using a heavier bastilisc without certain features. would definitely put me at a disadvantage. The new 502 x is definitely an upgraded. I cant imagine this thing modded.
I use the button on mouse button 1 to loot. It makes the game so much more fun. I really do like the g502. I wish it could be a little lighter. Im glad they got it down to almost sub 100g. But if the next version make its to around 70g or even lower. It will be the best mouse ever.
Yup! I haven’t come across a game yet that hasn’t supported all the buttons. I play CS, R6, Overwatch, PUBG, Apex, and others and haven’t had an issue yet. Hope this helps!
Mapping of 13 buttons in Doom/Doom Eternal: DPI up: Heavy cannon DPI down: Plasma rifle Scroll up: Chaingun Scroll down: Rocket Launcher Sniper button: Ballista Mouse 5: Super Shotgun Mouse 4: Combat Shotgun Edit: Scroll side: Change Grenade type Scroll click: Chainsaw the fcukers Profile Change button: Map/Tac Primary/secondary clicks as usual Would I recommend anyone play like this ? Probably not for competitive play, but it's fun as hell just try having some intuitive keybinds on a single hand instead of fumbling with keyboard switches. Actions are also faster, sadly weight is one limiting factor for this mouse. It's fun to have it around every once in a while for casual gaming.
Daaangg. This is the response I was looking for. That's a pretty neat setup. I agree about the weight. When this mouse goes on sale, I think it's good value but overall I think Logitech could lower their prices a bit. Super cool you're able to do all of that on the mouse though
This is the best standalone productivity mouse for my needs. My company limits our programs, so any special functions need to be in the onboard memory. I use all programmable buttons. Sniper button is for G shift. Holding it lets me scroll horizontally on spreadsheets and tilt the scroll wheel to move through sheets in a workbook. Buttons on the left click paddle change the DPI for precise mouse work (writing, selecting thin objects). The other two thumb buttons are for navigating back and forward on browsers, file explorer, etc. Whenever I need to work on someone else's computer, I bring this mouse with me. The major downside is that you can't program any macro in the onboard memory. Some just don't work.
Daaanng. Thanks for the insight. I was curious about that. I can never get the macros or rebinding in the software to work correctly. What's weird is, on the G502x Lightspeed it lets me bind M4 to scroll up turbo but doesn't let me do the same on the Superlight. Weird.
I'll give you two alternatives to the speed wheel that I find more useful (I do find the speed wheel very unnecessary) - Home/End keys on the keyboard: Take you to the top/bottom of any website. - Press & Hold Middle click (wheel click) and drag UP/DOWN, you will scroll very fast without the need of the wheel. I personally do use many buttons. I use things like Volume Up, Volume Down, Alt+Tab, Esc, Del, Backspace, Discord mute/unmute... + the usual ones.
As someone who does utilize all the buttons on the 502 and (waiting on arrival for 502X). I can tell you I use them mostly bound as function keys above F12 (F13-F24). Additionally I can use the wireless powerplaymatt. Whilst it is expensive it is a worth it for me as a long term investment and I’ve been using a lot of different mice including the razer basilisk X. The side buttons I use for siege stuff usually the others I use for discord mute and deafen. (I change it up sometimes) also playing games like arma and Tarkov I have plenty of binding options
Same, even in games, I can find a reason to use just about at least 6-7 of the buttons and that allows me to fully focus on just movement on my left hand. When my G502 light speed died due to a mishap, my cheapo replacement wireless just couldn’t satisfy what I needed it to do, so I got a G502X lightspeed
When will they come back with a G604 upgrade that could be linked to G915 M1 M2 M3 profile buttons? I would like to choose and see the mouse profile with and on my keyboard G915 M1 M2 M3 profile buttons. A light indicating the selected profile on the next G604 could also be nice. G602 and G604 are the only one that uses since 2013. I count only 11 programmable button on the G502 when my G604 have 13. Now CORSAIR offers the DARKSTAR WIRELESS RGB MMO Gaming Mouse with 15 Programmable buttons. If LOGITECH doesn't come back with new G604 (I don't want the G502), I will probably have to change for the DARKSTAR which seems to be a logic and nice improvement.
same here, I use all of the buttons. On daily desktop/watching/working/gaming stuff I still use almost every button on my G502. I changed the DPI UP and Down for changing tabs on browsers, MB4 and MB5 stay the same, then DPI shift I changed it for Enter, I use it for work most of the time, I changed the onboard profile cycle button for Space for playing and pausing videos/netflix. While gaming thats where the extra buttons really shines, aside from the MB4 and MB5 I use every buttons except the onboard profile cycle button for other functions for ingame use.
1.-2. L/R Click, 3. Middle Click (usually pan tool), 4.-5. Ctrl+C Ctrl+V, 6. Close Window, 7. Minimize Window, 8. Alt+Tab, 9. Enter, 10. Double Click, 11.-12. Back/Forward (or Next/Prev Image/Page or Wireless View / Maximize Window in Blender), 13. Software specific task, e.g. Isolate Mode in Blender. 14.-15. Mouse Wheel for scrolling/zooming. I could use much more, if my G700s has more buttons. More control in right hand you have, the better. It's a shame, that Logitech reduced number of buttons on his newer mouses. I don't know which one I will buy, after my G700s stop working.
I had this mouse for some time. Everything was okay, but the scroll wheel sound was actually too much for me to handle. After office hours, I like to relax by reading something on my PC and the scroll wheel sounds so bad, I feel like chucking the mouse away. I am finally giving it away to someone who will appreciate it more.
i using g pro wireless (old one not superlight) after releasing g502x and plus i think its time to upgrade but some reason i want just wait...after watching your review i'm so glad for wait thanks dude your channel so underrated.
Yeah, having a ton of buttons in programs like Adobe Premiere is super nifty. I might actually become that nerd that has the "work" mouse and the "gaming" mouse hahaha
i use a Mouse Button (MB) for double click , a MB for switching between windows , a MB for looping between windows, a mouse button as a space bar for media players to play and pause , and side MBs for next page and previous page
For the work I do outside of gaming it’s a good mouse I got it for a hundred bucks recently and it’s been great. Grew up using cheap mice so the scroll wheel doesn’t bother me and feels natural in my mind. Razor does sound better
A $100 is an insanely good deal for this mouse. If it were at that price all the time I would be recommending it. All in all it’s a super nice mouse, I’m just tired of Logitech and other companies price gouging mice 😅
I love mice with many buttons even for shooters. Grenades, Fire Modes, Healthpacks, Abilities, Crouch, Prone, ... I put everything on the mouse. Only actions I keep on the keyboard are reload, jump and "use". I currently use a Roccat Tyon and it is very difficult to find a replacement for it. This might be an option.
does the G logo on the lightspeed mouse light up at all or is it only on the X PLUS version? I thought the G also lights up but didnt have an RGB strip.
7:15 Hard disagree about the quality comparison here. When you flick the scroll wheel on the Basilisk, it doesn't stop scrolling nearly as quickly as the 502 X when the ratcheting is engaged. That gives me more of a loose feeling than the sound produced.
Thank you so much man. Your kind words honestly made my day. I've got a slate full of videos to complete this summer. Also, I just found out about these emojis
On MacOS: 1. Mission Control, 2. Desktop Left, 3. Desktop Right, 4. Play/Stop Media, 5. Spotlight, 6. App Switcher. If you add LMB, RMB and Wheel Button, that's 9 programmable buttons on my Basilisk Ultimate. You can never have enough buttons. :)
From where I live the 502 x lightspeed is half the price of the razer. No brainer for me😂my problem with the 502X tho is that the programmable buttons have a big delay of input.. still trying to figure it out…
Whattt?? No way, that’s crazy. What part of the world are you in because in the US they’re priced neck and neck (minus the old version still for sale) Are you experience the lag when you’re using wireless and wired modes?
Hey man, it’s been a few months and it’s still holding up pretty well. No discoloration and no real dirt build up. It’s been pretty reliable so far and still looks good!
Sure does. From the Logitech Website "Continuously charge your compatible Logitech G gaming mice: G703, G903, G502 LIGHTSPEED, G502 X LIGHTSPEED, G502 X PLUS, PRO Wireless, PRO X Superlight and more. POWERPLAY is a complete solution with integrated pro-grade LIGHTSPEED wireless."
i use all the buttons... but the reason why is that i have one arm couse of a motorbike accident and thow i have my left hand i buy right handed mouse for the placement of the buttons you see that way my thumb does nothing but the other 4 fingers are working hard :P really nice review m8
Just pointing out the “USB CONVERTER” is for connecting the receiver dongle to the charging cable to make an extension cord for the receiver in the scenario in which you only have a USB A on the back of a computer tower and you are experiencing radio signal issues
I’m particularly interested in the mouse as someone that streams and needs a a few push to talk, mute, and other buttons for streaming. I also am coming from the Mx master where I use the heck out of the horizontal scroll for both programming and rendering / photoshop and video editing. Logitech’s warranties have been amazing to me in the past (I have a 7 year old Mx master that got replaced free of charge after a superglue incident haha). I don’t want a super “gamery” or loud sounding mouse as I don’t want it to get picked up on stream and seems like I could also potentially bring it into the office (although Mx master just might get moved into the laptop bag)
I totally get you. This guy works great for the office or gaming. It’s on sale right now at Best Buy I think too. I’d try to avoid getting it at full price if possible. I think Logitech likes to run off with all of our monies
In my case I'm going to use it twice, lol. This bunch of buttons will be used both for my work with digital drawing and for playing my good old World of Warcraft.
bought one of these as an upgrade to the g502 lightspeed wireless, after a couple of months the right and left mouse buttons would intermittently stop working... then stop working altogether, never had a logi mouse fail in this way in over 30 years of using logi products
Dang, that’s rough. One of the drawbacks of the lightspeed switches in the ease of repair. If they were still the analog switches, you could just swap them 😞. Did you RMA the mouse? What was that process like?
2year of waranty is good service they have is good as well. But durability is not so good double click issue and mouse becoming dead is common if you see community page.
www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/gaming-mice/g502-x-wireless-lightforce.910-006187.html Right under the picture of the mouse there’s a black and white ball. That will select the color you want
Actually I do cop RP in GTAV FiveM and those 13 buttons come in clutch for things like activating sirens, Radio talk while driving, Radar lock, Set wave point, Seatbelt, Lock Doors and so much more!
Im watching this video coz my basilisk v3 pro scroll wheel just died after just a year of usage, and now Im considering to switch to logitech g502 X lightspeed💀💀
I use 6 on my g502 lightspeed wireless, for productivity and gaming. Today I'm getting the 502X lightspeed and I will map the same macros and functions, on the same buttons. As examples (since you said "please"): the "sniper" button it's handy to be used as "use" key (whatever that might be in your game of choice, it's usually E). G5 is always used for in-game voice chat. In productivity, sniper is prntscr, G5 is copy, in the general profile. G8 is F12 in firefox/chrome. Sniper is ripple cut, G5 is "end", g4 is comma key, in premiere pro. All I hope is that the issue with the double click (and drag&drop) which I experienced with my 502 is no longer present in the X variant, because I already changed the left microswitch once and I don't wanna do it again (tedious work). Good thing I have 2 PCs and I can have the same config for mouse on both. But damn, you have a ton of mice, my dude. Do you ever use all of them?
Hahaha, I did say please. Thanks 😊 The double click issue should be fixed with optical switches, so I wouldn’t fret too much about that. I do manage to cycle the mice pretty frequently. It really depends on my mood. Sometimes I just want to use a superlight, other times I may want to use a deathadder. I bring some to work during the day to use so I’m not stuck with normie Dell mice all day, but I manage to put a good amount of hours on them before I put out a review. Sometimes I get too use to the shape on one (like the deathadder) and it can be weird using anything else for a bit. I got a really really freaking weird mouse coming in soon that uses keyboard switches instead of mouse switches. That will be fun
I bought g502x plus and after opening and as I tried the scroll wheel, I know I have to return it back. I will use the mouse for work and gaming but the scroll wheel doesn’t have travel on rachet mode, and in freescroll I can’t feel it is scrolling due to light material used. Maybe I’ll try thr razer basilisk one, thanks!
No problem! If you don’t mind the additional weight, the Razer Basilisk V3 pro mouse wheel is a work of art. It’s honestly perfect imo. Glad my review helped!
They have a good sale for this atm. Would it be worth $100? I didn't care for the rubber razer used on my last mouse so I swapped over to logitech. I would like a bigger mouse and this one caught my attention.
Sucks to hear you don't recommend it because I been keeping my eye on this one for Black Friday deal. I'm upgrading from my 15 year old mouse the G500 lol. I'm hoping on Black Friday it will push the price down to near $100 or less. I think that would be a great deal.
If anything, If you really wanted all the buttons, you can get the previous generation G502 wireless on sale for $70-80. That's waaaay more worth it. I'm trying to stay away from Logitech since their new CEO is trying to promote monthly subscription fees to use the features of your mouse. Greedy Logitech strikes again
The G502 x doesn’t have much grit to it but you can feel every bump. It’s more loosey goosey then other mouse wheels. Infinity mouse scroll is nice but there is some wobble. Overall decent mouse wheel but not the best
It’s all about the shape preference but I think the V3 pro offers more value for the cost. Don’t get me wrong I think both are overpriced but at least on the v3 pro they’re making innovative changes with the mouse wheel
I feel like this is a better choice for me than something like the superlight even if i never use the 13 programable buttons cos of the ergonomic design. I have big hands and feel like this would be very comfortable
Up to a point, the more buttons, the better! In gaming, the more I can get off my keyboard, and onto my mouse, the less I have to take from wasd and space. In editing, it vastly speeds up your processes. And it's just the right amount, cleanly and cleverly placed, so you'll never miss-click a button like some of those that put like 20 on the thumbside of the mouse.
I loved the pedecessor, the "G502 Proteus Core". It felt valueable, and the wheel was made of metal. Clicks had clear haptical clicks, but gave no harsh feedback whatsoever. The "G502 X Lightspeed" as the descendant appears to be a shadow of its "mother". It's extreme lightweight, it's plastic, clicks feel "hollowish"...
Different strokes for different folks. This mouse fits my hands perfectly. I would say it's a huge improvement over the previous model, and since upgrading about a week ago, I am not disappointed. The big thing for me here is that the G7 and G8 buttons are much easier to press, and the DPI button has been moved closer to your hand, making it easier to press. Hand size and grip preference have a huge impact on whether you like a mouse or not, so the only way to know for sure is to try one.
I think this version is too new to tell. I know with some of the older ones they have though. I’ve been using this on and off for a few months, my hands don’t sweat, and I’ve noticed no color change
Ive been debating between the basilisk and g502x. I just couldnt bring myself to buy the basilisk after seeing how horrible the scroll wheel holds up. Every forum about it I see people saying it broke within a year.
I had hoped to see the aim (reduced DPI) button in action. I understand that it reduces the DPI only. But I wish I could have the aim (right mouse button) function added to the reduced DPI function, both in one button. I don't know if this is programmable. Thanks.
@@AtalanKaarlo Most PC games use the right mouse button for aim. The mouse I currently use has 6 profiles so you can programme your buttons for 6 different games. However, I only play Breakpoint and AC Mirage, at the moment. Thank you for your reply.
@TheRageAcademy I have very large hands because I'm a very large man and I didn't fat finger the buttons even once so far. It might just be a skill issue.
@@TheRageAcademy I dont fat finger it on my old g502. but u said its even tighter mouse click space. So perhaps i should stick with old model. I use the top button (one on the left mouse button) to loot (use). it makes it very nice, i am able to loot while running in any direction, feels solid.
@@donlee4238 The older G502 is definitely more generous with the spacing. The new G502 lightspeed's M1 & M2 have a taper to them, so they get thinner at the ends.
I use all the buttons in starfield except for the scrollwheel side buttons and middle button. I have -map -quest -grenade/missile -heal(ship and on foot) I once in a while use the sniper button. I think this mouse is amazing. Also as a newcomer to the g-hub I really like this software. I also like the g-shift. In windows I often misclicked some buttons when putting away the mouse and when picking it up when booting windows also I sometimes pressed the mouse wheel side buttons when scrolling and I just bound them to g-shift and now I never misclick in windows. Buttons are all in good locations on the mouse. I would definitely recommend the G502x lightspeed.
For me personally, it’s fighting the muscle memory of other keybinds/shortcuts I’ve developed over like 20 years. On this particular model though, they tapered the m1 paddle too much. Because of my freakishly thick fingers, it’s hard to intentionally press the additional buttons on m1. I didn’t have an issue with the older gen version
I have a g604 and the only reason that this mouse stops me is because it has so little buttons, yes I use them all the time so that so said 13 is way too short. on most games i play (rpg's) i really need them and only having those 2 on the side is really lacking.
I can co-relate g604 is my work and daily use mouse, the side 6 butting are cut copy paste and play/pause next track and previous track , even I can map my volume to above 2 keys 😂.
I used many mice , like the finalmouse poseidom m+s , tenz medium , superlight , viper v2 , Dav2/3 , zowie ec1-3cw , ninjutso sora and many more Today i just felt like getting my old g502 hero on the desk , i hate wired mice but man did it felt good on valorant , just ordered the lightspeed x cause it's on sale rn I started getting into the fps scene like valorant , cs , apex with the g502 hero and loved it many years in my league of legends time And now the circle closes , maybe i found my endgame mouse , with the upgraded version i always loved and started it all
The OG g502 was awesome. One thing to be careful of is how large the m1 and m2 paddles are on the lightspeed variant. I wish they did a 1:1 modeling on the old chassis and the new but they didn’t :(
The two buttons you fatfinger I use for volume up/down, across my computer globally. The "snipe button" for your thumb I use for my Push To Talk. The other keys I program dependant on the game or app (I've used X-Button Mouse Control for many many years, not Logitech's software).
I macroed everything for browsing use. Sniper button to change audio sources. 2 new side buttons for macro to speed youtube up or down. Not too sure what to use the side to side on the scroll wheel tho.
im still using the original.... i use my superlight for fps games and swap back to g502 for everything else the weight is noticeable at first but not only is the shape perfect for my hand i absolutely love the all metal scroll wheel its perfect. Although i will admit i am tempted to get a basilisk v3 pro
My trick to fat fingering the mouse with the G8 being right there is I rest my finger against the scroll wheel and keeps my finger away from the two side buttons. I use them for nades myself. I had a baslisik v3 for a while but i cannot stand razer software as there is NO onboard memory need to be connected to the interent all the time and they have really shitty protection for information leaking.
My fingers are too fat or I’m too unskilled to pull it off. I gave it a shot in apex specifically for using grenades and it kept stopping me in a firefight to pull up the grenade wheel. Razer synapse is horrible. It’s 100% bloatware and it will just update even when you disable auto updates. The logi software is better. Wish everything ran on memory though. Would much rather write any changes to device with a webui
Pushing the scroll wheel to the left or right that’s another customizable option. I customized mine: left - minimize all windows, and right - lock screen
I got mine for 60 bucks on sale, hopefully that value is a better fit for this one, I feel like after this I got a good deal, not the best mouse ever, but for 60 seems like a decent bargain
Ill tell why need 13 buttons., In dota 2 left and right use for basic actions, 2 low side buttons will be for purchase quick buy and items return back to you . Top 2 side buttons will be for 7 slot inventory items(most of time that item will be an action item) and the other one is for teleportation.the middle scrolling button will be used for heroes truant action. And left and right buttons on middle scroller will be used for hero voice chat and other chats. And the left solo button will be for the dagger. small 2 buttons used for hero selection specifically for illusions heroes like pl ck and naga and the other is for focusing camera when playing tinker . To be honest as 8.5k mmr 13 is not enough for me😅😅
Couldn't believe when I looked at the subscriber count how little there are, your video quality is excellent. Would you consider doing a review on the lamzu atlantis?
Thank you so much man! 😚 I have the Lamzu Atlantis Mini lined up for review soon. I would of gotten the normal Atlantis but it was out stock when I ordered it :( It is on the to-do list though!!
Found this video after searching for a review of this mouse and your video was at the top result so I just clicked it randomly. I really liked your personality and how professional the video was made so I went down to see what the name of this big established tech channel I've stumbled upon was and noticed you only got 405 subs, lmao that will change pretty soon if you keep up, top tier quality vid! Had to sub, keep it up! \m/
Thank you so much! You made my day!! 🙏 I’ve got plenty planned for this summer. My wife was kind enough to let me purchase a bunch of mice/keyboards 😅😂
Honestly, I feel like I do better in first-person shooters with a heavier mouse. When using a lighter mouse, my hand comes off the mouse pad more often than with a heavier one, so I feel like most of the time, a heavier one is more accurate.
I’m a big believer in the “what ever works best for you” mentality. I honestly think a lot of the “lighter mouse = better” is just marketing. I remember a time where heavier mice were considered better quality but times have changed
5:40 I have a big problem with Logitech. They are all too small for me! I’m not a big guy but I do train and my hand is rather broad. Quite a shame! I love the design and how it feels holding it but I often unintentionally click on adjacent buttons which is so annoying! I had to search and test for mice before hand at the store. I had to make sure it fits my hand! Once my mouse is broke I have to go through the whole procedure again😑
I went over how I constantly fat finger the extra buttons… the new g502x lightspeed has smaller m1/m2 paddles than the previous generation and they also taper a bit
My G402 which i got for 4000Pkr ( 14 Dollars~) is pretty similar and very bang for the buck. same shape and love the extra buttons. Its 10x cheaper and yet the same
Everyone chooses equipment according to their preferences. If someone has thick fingers, then he does not buy the G502X. One person prefers Razer another Logitech. Between these mice G502X / Razer V3 there is no difference for the average person, am I wrong?
I agree but I think there’s plenty of difference between the G502x and the Basilisk V3 pro. I think the basilisk V3 Pro is the overall better built mouse and has far more engineering put into it. It has the best mouse wheel on the market right now imo. It does weigh about 11g more though. Razer certainly copied the design of the G502x but I think they have a better execution on the design/engineering
@@TheRageAcademy I use the G502 X (cabled version) and it weighs 79g. I don't think it's a perfect mouse, the scroll is audible. I guess its competition is Basilik V3 and from what I noticed, they differ in the grip of the hand? I know for sure that the G502 X is not a mouse for people with large hands. It seems to me that the G502 X is rather for people who have a fingertip grip? It's just my thought. Of course Razer also makes great gear. I will be grateful for correcting me :)
@@dzielnymaytoster I'd say the grip matters only because of the additional buttons on M1 on the Logitech G502x. So, for me you're kind of forced to use finger tip grip. My fingers are too big to use the G502 X. My pointer finger is wider than M1 is narrow. (on the newer models) Otherwise, I find both of the mice very comfortable. The biggest part to me is that the Basilisk v3 feels like a better constructed mouse. I think more time went into developing the Razer scroll wheel over Logitech. I also think both companies ask a little too much $ for either mouse
@@TheRageAcademy Got it, thanks for the feedback :) I agree that scrolling in Razer is better and mouse is great. Do you know maybe, how plastic behaves in white mice? Will it retain its white, bright color over time? Will there be discoloration over time and it is better to replace it with the black version?
It kind of acts like a hybrid claw grip with the thumb rest. You certainly still pinch the same way as you would with claw but the thumbrest takes some getting used to. I claw grip and I had no trouble getting used to this mouse
Use any design software for 8+ hours a day, and trust me, you'll find a use for ALL OF THE THINGS.. I mean buttons.
Lol, it’s definitely nifty in programs like Adobe Premiere, Aftereffects, and Photoshop
Then please do share some tips on what you use them for 😇
Personaly I found the "sniper" button great for DPI shift for more precise masking or retouching.
But besides that, I never really put in the effort to fully utilize application profiles and create some custom button assignments 😅
Same for software development
The M5 is 🗑 🚮 tho
Well put.

As a person who uses all the buttons for gaming and school work, at like 90$ this was the perfect upgrade from my old wired G502
$90 for the game g502x lightspeed is an insane deal.
same
I got the wired one just now on amazon for $49
Worth?
@@frippyfroo6064well if the mouse served you well, always worth it.
Daang. That’s super efficient
Although I agree that 13 buttons is overkill for gaming (except maybe some strategy games), but it's still nice to have more options for which button you want to use, based on feel & comfort.
Liked the review but it was funny when he said what are you doing if you are using all 13 buttons, and proceeds to name 9 of them he uses
Those extra four got scratching my head man

Button on the top of mouse to loot*
@@donlee4238 agreed!
Can I use all 13 mouse buttons in games? Do games support those extra mouse buttons to be keybinded?
Yup! I haven’t come across a game yet that hasn’t supported all the buttons. I play CS, R6, Overwatch, PUBG, Apex, and others and haven’t had an issue yet. Hope this helps!
Mapping of 13 buttons in Doom/Doom Eternal:
DPI up: Heavy cannon
DPI down: Plasma rifle
Scroll up: Chaingun
Scroll down: Rocket Launcher
Sniper button: Ballista
Mouse 5: Super Shotgun
Mouse 4: Combat Shotgun
Edit:
Scroll side: Change Grenade type
Scroll click: Chainsaw the fcukers
Profile Change button: Map/Tac
Primary/secondary clicks as usual
Would I recommend anyone play like this ? Probably not for competitive play, but it's fun as hell just try having some intuitive keybinds on a single hand instead of fumbling with keyboard switches. Actions are also faster, sadly weight is one limiting factor for this mouse. It's fun to have it around every once in a while for casual gaming.
Daaangg. This is the response I was looking for. That's a pretty neat setup. I agree about the weight. When this mouse goes on sale, I think it's good value but overall I think Logitech could lower their prices a bit. Super cool you're able to do all of that on the mouse though
Very good production quality in this channel. There is strong potential here. Keep up the good work man.
Weird.
I'll give you two alternatives to the speed wheel that I find more useful (I do find the speed wheel very unnecessary)
- Home/End keys on the keyboard: Take you to the top/bottom of any website.
I have the G502x it's an upgrade version of the G502. It beats the old G502 in reactivity, weight and switches.
On paper... It ticks all the boxes
I agree. The mouse wheel works like a loose wheel. There’s a lot of noise with it. Definitely not a “tight” feeling mouse wheel

Can I use those buttons on PlayStation
Probably not because you’ll need the logi software on the PlayStation
I love mice with many buttons even for shooters. Grenades, Fire Modes, Healthpacks, Abilities, Crouch, Prone, ... I put everything on the mouse. Only actions I keep on the keyboard are reload, jump and "use". I currently use a Roccat Tyon and it is very difficult to find a replacement for it. This might be an option.
Honestly, using grenade on mouse is where it’s at. You don’t lose the ability to move around trying to reach the “g” key
does the G logo on the lightspeed mouse light up at all or is it only on the X PLUS version? I thought the G also lights up but didnt have an RGB strip.
@@Dittos247 only on the plus version. The lightspeed variant is no rgb. So you pay an extra $20 for the leds
7:15 Hard disagree about the quality comparison here. When you flick the scroll wheel on the Basilisk, it doesn't stop scrolling nearly as quickly as the 502 X when the ratcheting is engaged. That gives me more of a loose feeling than the sound produced.
Subbed, the way you explain, the light ambient music, the editing and the detailed shots amazing. Keep it up champ hope to see you explode

From where I live the 502 x lightspeed is half the price of the razer. No brainer for me😂my problem with the 502X tho is that the programmable buttons have a big delay of input.. still trying to figure it out…
Whattt?? No way, that’s crazy. What part of the world are you in because in the US they’re priced neck and neck (minus the old version still for sale)

Nice. My brother prefers a ton of buttons for WoW macros too
bought one of these as an upgrade to the g502 lightspeed wireless, after a couple of months the right and left mouse buttons would intermittently stop working... then stop working altogether, never had a logi mouse fail in this way in over 30 years of using logi products
How can you get the white one? I can't find it in Logitech site. Only black

Right under the picture of the mouse there’s a black and white ball. That will select the color you want
i used g04 for 7years. good thing its battery operated. Im worried in the long run for non battery operated wireless logitech. thoughts?
Do you mean AA batteries or Lipo batteries?

Im watching this video coz my basilisk v3 pro scroll wheel just died after just a year of usage, and now Im considering to switch to logitech g502 X lightspeed💀💀
are the two mouse 1 and 2 buttons glossy or textured?
They're glossy
Love the content my man!
Thank you bro! More stuff coming soon
Thanks 😊
The double click issue should be fixed with optical switches, so I wouldn’t fret too much about that.
Amazing channel bro keep it up
I’m gonna do it just for you bro 😎
I think $100 for the lightspeed variant is a good deal. That’s about $40 USD off. I think you’ll definitely get your value out of price like that
Sucks to hear you don't recommend it because I been keeping my eye on this one for Black Friday deal.
My go to for the last forever has been the Pulsar X2H ES. I fricken love that mouse…
I did not like the coarse scroll wheel detent graduations on the G604. Can anyone comment on how the G502 X compares?
The G502 x doesn’t have much grit to it but you can feel every bump. It’s more loosey goosey then other mouse wheels. Infinity mouse scroll is nice but there is some wobble. Overall decent mouse wheel but not the best
Which wireless mouse is better, Logitech G502 X Lightspeed or Razer Basilisk V3 Pro?
It’s all about the shape preference but I think the V3 pro offers more value for the cost. Don’t get me wrong I think both are overpriced but at least on the v3 pro they’re making innovative changes with the mouse wheel
I feel like this is a better choice for me than something like the superlight even if i never use the 13 programable buttons cos of the ergonomic design. I have big hands and feel like this would be very comfortable
I certainly feel like you get more value out of this than the superlight. The GPX has been overpriced for yeeaaarrrsss
Up to a point, the more buttons, the better! In gaming, the more I can get off my keyboard, and onto my mouse, the less I have to take from wasd and space. In editing, it vastly speeds up your processes. And it's just the right amount, cleanly and cleverly placed, so you'll never miss-click a button like some of those that put like 20 on the thumbside of the mouse.
which one would you prefer the g502x plus or g502 lightspeed?
500th subscriber!! I thought you had way more subs because of this video quality but remember quality over quantity 😮
Woohooo! You made my day!
We always go for quality here 😉
the beginning was litteraly a movie
Totally valid. A good mouse is totally subjective. I just wish Logitech didn’t rob their community blind selling them
Has there been any discolouration over time for the white version?
I think this version is too new to tell. I know with some of the older ones they have though. I’ve been using this on and off for a few months, my hands don’t sweat, and I’ve noticed no color change
Ive been debating between the basilisk and g502x. I just couldnt bring myself to buy the basilisk after seeing how horrible the scroll wheel holds up. Every forum about it I see people saying it broke within a year.
For what it’s worth, I had the v3 pro for almost year now and haven’t had any issues. To be honest both the g502x and v3 pro are working great
is that a 3d printed mouse holder ?
Yeeeeeee
I had hoped to see the aim (reduced DPI) button in action. I understand that it reduces the DPI only. But I wish I could have the aim (right mouse button) function added to the reduced DPI function, both in one button. I don't know if this is programmable. Thanks.
Wouldnt it be annoying in different games than fps
@@AtalanKaarlo Most PC games use the right mouse button for aim. The mouse I currently use has 6 profiles so you can programme your buttons for 6 different games. However, I only play Breakpoint and AC Mirage, at the moment. Thank you for your reply.
I would use mappable buttons for MMOs, nice for quick access when you have a lot of skills and running out of reachable keys on your keyboard.
Would you worry about fat fingering? In the heat of the moment I seemed to be hitting them way too often.
@TheRageAcademy I have very large hands because I'm a very large man and I didn't fat finger the buttons even once so far. It might just be a skill issue.
Could be
@@TheRageAcademy I dont fat finger it on my old g502. but u said its even tighter mouse click space. So perhaps i should stick with old model. I use the top button (one on the left mouse button) to loot (use). it makes it very nice, i am able to loot while running in any direction, feels solid.
@@donlee4238 The older G502 is definitely more generous with the spacing. The new G502 lightspeed's M1 & M2 have a taper to them, so they get thinner at the ends.
if they took off the additional buttons on left click, it'd be an instabuy for me.
My thoughts exactly pretty much. Everything was great about the mouse except cost and usability for my fat fingers
I legit don't understand how people don't use all the buttons. I always find a use for the buttons and so good, love the primary click switches
I can co-relate g604 is my work and daily use mouse, the side 6 butting are cut copy paste and play/pause next track and previous track , even I can map my volume to above 2 keys 😂.
try the logitech g600. has like 12 buttons on one side of it

And now the circle closes , maybe i found my endgame mouse , with the upgraded version i always loved and started it all
The OG g502 was awesome.
That’s what I’m stuck on too!
im still using the original.... i use my superlight for fps games and swap back to g502 for everything else the weight is noticeable at first but not only is the shape perfect for my hand i absolutely love the all metal scroll wheel its perfect. Although i will admit i am tempted to get a basilisk v3 pro
Try the Basilisk. It’s great. The mouse wheel is light years ahead of anything else. Return it if it doesn’t meet expectations but at least try it
@@TheRageAcademy basislisk is great tho, but for me still a bit heavy for FPS game, how's glorious model I wireless compared to basilisk v3?
My Baselisk v3 pro sometimes can’t awaken it
It’s annoying especially you bought the charging dongle set and have to plug wire to call him up
My trick to fat fingering the mouse with the G8 being right there is I rest my finger against the scroll wheel and keeps my finger away from the two side buttons.
Great video. Absolute STUNNING videography mate, bravo 👌.
Also, what's the name of the song at the beginning? What a tune! 😍
Thank you so much!! 🥰🥰🥰
The song is titled "Aware" it's by Adrian Berenguer

i use all of them in tarkov, "VOIP, cange optic, zero+ -, change zoom, reload, grenade, ads, shoot, free look," all on the mouse lol
Is the Tarkov button mapping similar to Arma? If so you need as many shortcuts as you can get
your reviews are awesome bro, ur so underated, since you already have the basilisk v3 pro, i hope you will review it too, thx
Thank you so much man! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
The Basilisk V3 pro is in the pipeline. I’m actually getting footage of it (along with others) this week
I got mine for 60 bucks on sale, hopefully that value is a better fit for this one, I feel like after this I got a good deal, not the best mouse ever, but for 60 seems like a decent bargain
$60 for the Lightspeed is the deal of the century
Ill tell why need 13 buttons.,
In dota 2 left and right use for basic actions, 2 low side buttons will be for purchase quick buy and items return back to you . To be honest as 8.5k mmr 13 is not enough for me😅😅
Daaannng
Couldn't believe when I looked at the subscriber count how little there are, your video quality is excellent. Would you consider doing a review on the lamzu atlantis?
Thank you so much man! 😚 I have the Lamzu Atlantis Mini lined up for review soon. I would of gotten the normal Atlantis but it was out stock when I ordered it :(
It is on the to-do list though!!
I’ve got plenty planned for this summer.
Can I use it as wired mouse?
yes
5:40 I have a big problem with Logitech. They are all too small for me! I’m not a big guy but I do train and my hand is rather broad. Quite a shame! I love the design and how it feels holding it but I often unintentionally click on adjacent buttons which is so annoying!
I had to search and test for mice before hand at the store.
I had to make sure it fits my hand!
Once my mouse is broke I have to go through the whole procedure again😑
2:30 they have that also in G903
That’s good to know! It’s an awesome feature. Would love to see everyone start implementing small things like removable buttons
I use a g502 for war thunder, easy missile actuation is a breeze with the two buttons
you didnt mention that logitech has 2 buttons more than razer which makes a significant difference
Its 10x cheaper and yet the same
The real tip is always in the comments
Is it good for claw grip
It kind of acts like a hybrid claw grip with the thumb rest. You certainly still pinch the same way as you would with claw but the thumbrest takes some getting used to. I claw grip and I had no trouble getting used to this mouse
@@TheRageAcademy thanks for reply man i am buying this today and i mainly play valorant i hope it works for me
@@mayank.murpani no problem bro! Hope you like it!
