That’s exactly why I like the 502. I remap the sniper button for use with other short cuts. Also remap the dpi buttons when I launch games so I can use it for stuff like pinging. It’s just an all around great mouse.
I’m happy and welcome the changes. I’m glad they didn’t make it a completely new mouse and upgraded some stuff like the switches and gave it a little extra customization.

Yep, since I get my G502, I get why many people like this (or liked it until the lightweight gaming mice trend emerged). The problem I have with light weight mice, its just all about lightness anymore but they are basically just a normal mice. For most I guess that's fine, but I felt like I need a mice that allows me to actually do more since I don't use my PC only for gaming, I even do it for productivity and since pandemic, use for WFH use as well. G502 despite marketed as a gaming mice, is actually for me one of the best productivity mice out there, better than to even likes of well-regarded MX Master Mouse from the same company.
The extra buttons are great for quick macro/shortcut functionality for different apps I used and for gaming as well, not needing to reach that certain function on the keyboard that is too far to reach with the fingers. I don't want to develop RSI in the long term, the buttons actually benefits ergonomics for me and makes me feel more efficient.
I'm kinda disappointed that most mice and keyboards are indeed moved away from extra macro and dedicated keys for years. Felt like I'm paying more for less and very few options that offer one that now they became expensive because they became more niche.

It's still not enough buttons for me, as an avid MMO player I need all the buttons I can get to assign macros and hotkeys to.
Which is why I stuck to Razer's Naga Pro and its swappable sides, if I'm not playing an MMO, I can just use the 2- or 6-button layout.

    • @kornkernel2232
      @kornkernel2232 2 года назад +1

@@Aturixios Yeah for MMOs, those mice like Naga or even Logitech own G604 are better suited. I actually want to get those since those extra buttons would be sweet for productivity, but I'll wait for update of G604 assuming Logitech hasn't forgotten about it due to light mice trend we have these days.
I want to have G604 but some RGB so I can assign it as profile indicator, and maybe same feel with G502. Idk how G604 feels though.

G502 is hands down the best mouse of all time. There's a reason why it's been the top seller for so long. Perfect weight distribution for stability and precision. Fits so ergonomically and works well for any use case including professional creative work as well as gaming. Having 3 customizable buttons just around the thumb is a god saver.
Been using it since it was first released and can't wait to get my hands on my new G502 X Plus. Wish they'd shave off $50 or so from the price but I guess can live with that GOAT premium. Take my money Logitech!

For me it's been the most durable, reliable mouse I've ever owned. I've had mine for 7 1/2 years now and even through very, VERRRYYY heavy usage it is still going supremely strong. Not once has the infamous "double click" issue ever reared its ugly head. Not once have I ever had tracking issues with it. Not once has its mouse wheel ever given me any issues. Really the only problem I've had is that over time, the rubber grip along the side has worn down significantly. Beyond that it still functions like a champ, which is incredible considering just how long I've had it and how much abuse it's taken.

    1. USB C was long due
    2. The new rubberized finger rest was really necessary because cleaning on the old one was terrbie.
    3. I like that the mouse is not that glossy anymore, it will look even better!

    5. Apparently, the "PLUS" version only gives you RGB, which means at least for me that I will buy the non plus version.

I was really excited for it, it's definitely not a disappointment and I'll probably still be picking one up but I do wish there was more to it especially after waiting this long for what seems like no reason. Also wish the "G" was still RGB on the mouse.

If the review itself wasn't enough, the fact that at 4:45 you warn of audio levels returning high again it's a beautiful touch, letting the viewer adjust the audio again to not blow their ears. Man, I just subbed for that. What a great quality content. Keep it up, man! ✨

The original G502 was my first "proper" mouse meaning something that wasn't a cheap $20 keyboard+mouse combo. Absolutely loved it until I started getting more into games where the GPW was just objectively better fit for me. I still miss all the buttons and that awesome beefy scrollwheel but can't say I would ever go back.

I've owned every iteration of the G502. It is my favorite mouse by far and I am very glad to see them refreshing it, the king has returned. The amount of crap this mouse gets is ridiculous, I've recommended this to so many people, people that bought it and now love it. For each of them I am open to other peoples thoughts so I did say "a lot of people say it's on the heavier side just so you know" and they all said that's ridiculous, it's not heavy at all it's perfectly fine. I agree completely, this mouse gets meme'd for no reason, it's not a part of the "superlight" train but it's not by definition "heavy". It's just heavier than the ridiculous

Really excited for the new switches. The only issues I’ve had with my G502s are switch failures. Double-clicking and ghost clicks are unfortunately very common after six months/year, and the culprit is the cheap switches. Hopefully this new model improves durability.

It obviously sounds ridiculous, but try taking a deep breath and exhaling as hard as you can into the mouse underneath the primary and secondary buttons (left click and right click). Totally fixed my double clicking issues I'd been having for at least 6 months prior. I think the key here is the battery perfomance, Logitech page says "about 120 hours with RGB turned off" and "37 hours with RGB turned on" for the plus model and I think that's a massive difference, I'd be nice if you can test that battery time RGB vs no RGB, if the gap is that big then I don't think buying the RGB version is worth at all, but if the difference in lasting time is small, like 100 hours no RGB vs 80 hours RGB (to say something) then I think the plus version would the nice one to buy.

Yep, G502 is actually a great productivity mice, IMHO better than MX Master since G502 have far more buttons for function shortcuts/macros and the software allows you to have far more cutomisation and profiles for that. The RGB is a useful indicator of the mode you are in than not having one. Battery life difference for me isn't that much having RGB on anyways, and I don't use effects.
The price difference for me is kinda negligible since these are expensive mice to begin with even without RGB, the savings isn't much in there. Weight difference is negligible for only 4 grams diffence. Even that weight reduction is still not comparable for even the heaviest dedicated lightweight mice in the market anwyas.

Kinda weird to see that this logitech mouse and the razer basilisk v3 pro release near the same date, since they're kind of like rivals

2:00 PTFE and Teflon are the same thing, aren't they? Teflon is just the name brand of PTFE/Polytetrafluorethylene.

not gonna lie, i have always loved how the g502 looks so i bought one myself like 2 years ago, but it's too heavy and i cant use it for more than 2 hours so i sold it and bought a Basilisk X Hyperspeed, which is cheaper, lighter and wireless. When i heard that a new g502 wireless is coming out, i expect more from this. It looks really ugly in my opinion, and still weighs 100g.

    [11:26] Hey everyone!
Thanks for the detailed review, Random Frank P! It's always great to hear your thoughts on new gaming gear.
I've been a fan of the G502 for a while now, and I'm excited to see Logitech continuing to refine and update this classic mouse. The new hybrid optical switches sound intriguing, and I'm definitely looking forward to trying them out for that unique tactile feel.
Regarding the different versions, I'm a bit puzzled too. I appreciate having options, but the price and feature differences between the X and X Plus are somewhat perplexing. Personally, I lean towards performance and functionality, so I might opt for the lighter and cheaper version without RGB, but I'd love to hear what others think about this pricing strategy.
Looking forward to your in-depth review and more gameplay experiences with the G502 Lightspeed! Keep up the great work, and as always, I'll be following your updates on Twitter. Cheers! 🎮🐭

I love the G502, i dont get why everyone wants a super light mouse. When i played some FPS games like Xdefiant and CS2 with my MX master 3s i was way better than with the Glorious model O. Heavy>lighter

After a bit more than 2 years (of course :( ), my G502 Lightspeed also started suffering from the switches doing a doubleclick when clicked once.
So got myself the G502 X Lightspeed ... and it feels like a kind of downgrade
    - It feels way more "plastic", it has less "body". This is partly because of the lighter weight. I knew they decided to ditch the extra weights (a decision I personally don't understand?) but it's really too light now.
    - The left and right click has more travel. There where with the G502 had a very light and direct reaction, with the G502 X I have to apply just that little bit more pressure and feels/acts less direct.
    - The 2nd DPI change button got way too big. I have big hands and now when using the Forward button, my thumb is also touching that bigger DPI change button a lot of times.
    - The DPI indicator is now just 1 led and is placed there where you can not see it because it's now behind the scroll wheel (and my fingers).
    - No direct check option anymore to see the battery level, now only shows when turning the mouse on.
    - The pros are there too: the gliders are better and the option to turn around the thumb button for easier acces.
Returned it and got a normal G502 Lightspeed again. The X is just not worth the money and the normal model is way cheaper now.

Why does Logitech call some of them Lightspeed when they're 100g+?
I'm going in the reverse than everyone else. I love my Model O but lately a heavier mouse has been doing REALLY well in my hands in Apex. So im planning on going heavier.
I'm using my Naga (call me crazy) 😂 but it's 117g and I LOVE the weight and feel of it. I'm debating on
This G502 or the G903 to upgrade to. And having trouble deciding.
Also for the sniper button, could you Rebind that to say a crouch button in the software?

I don't understand the appeal of a "Lighter" mouse. G502 Lightspeed has a nice heft to it perfect for FPS especially if you are a sniper. I think the ones looking for a lighter mouse are compensating on something :D ...

Logitech releasing a completely different SKU and calling it a "Plus" when the only diffrence is RGB and +4 grams for 20 USD really baffles me. I don't see a place for it at all. They should've just made the decsion to launch it either with or without the RGB and price it somewhere in the middle ground. Those who dont want RGB can just turn it off, its not rocket science.
