My grandfather died by suicide a year before I was born. Don’t think my mother ever fully processed it. My wife lost her twin sister to suicide when she was 23. Sending love to this lady.

Diane needs to also seek legal counsel, not so much for divorce but to make sure she is not at risk for any severe financial issues. And to get power of attorney over her husband.

The husband of caller #1 doesn’t only have delusions but the root issue of all of it is 🥁🥁🥁 Honesty. Honesty with himself and those closest to him. Money is important, but being secretive and not owning up with your partner in crime will rot everything you love to the core. His ego is trying to protect him but he must be in excruciating pain too, thinking the world is crashing down all the time. This man is my father.

My heart goes out to Marie!! She is so strong and so brave to face something so hard and difficult. Grief is like ocean waves - comes in crashing all at once and goes away for a bit and you can breath. The problem is that there is truth mixed with the crazy. I think by now that most people realize there are people in power who don’t have our best interest. The question becomes how far will they go to accomplish their goals?

The first caller is what my mom is dealing with, 52 years of marriage. She has to grieve the loss of the husband she thought she had. She won't ever leave him, too afraid to leave. She has Alzheimer's now and fears not having the money/ "care" he can give her.

Jeff, I hope you see this. I was on the show a couple weeks ago and I appreciate your courage in calling. It takes a lot, so I understand. I have to tell you that you seem like you’d be an awesome friend. I don’t have friends either. It sucks, Man. I’m trying to actively find some “ride or die”friends and I know what you’re feeling. It’s lonely. I can only play Hogwarts Legacy so many times before I am forced to admit it’s not enough and I want more. Haha! I deserve more, and so do you!

Marie, I just want to say to you how very truly sorry for the death of your husband, I have no words I just want you to know you and your sweet daughters are in my prayers. You have had to make the ultimate sacrifice for all of us . I pray the govt will come up with a better solution for our military soldiers and what they are asked to do to protect us. I just want you to know there are people like me, strangers who are grateful to you and support you with prayers ,etc,
Crypto is very risky, but to say gold and silver are some of the riskiest investments available shows your dogmatic obedience to mutual fund managers. Look at the 10 year, 20 year, and 50 year charts. Gold and silver are up, steadily over the decades. Perhaps the market is better over that same time period, but it's not nearly as risky as you portrayed. Plus it's main function in an investment portfolio is as a hedge against inflation.
To be fair, the caller's husband shouldn't of put all his investments into crypto, gold, and silver. And much of Dr. John's advice was solid.

I understand callers are very emotional when they are going through tough situations; I notice they don’t stop and listen to what Dr. Delony is trying to help them with. I hear a lot of “yeah but” responses. I suggest having your questions written out and answer his questions, this will help minimize derailment during the discussion. This is a brief therapeutic interaction and you need as much information out of this as possible…breathe and slow down.
I think the "yeah but" happens because he doesn't know the whole situation and they see reasons that what he's saying won't work. Also, it's super common for people to see a lot of roadblocks on a path and they need some help breaking down those walls. That's what the call is for.
Diane...take the help that this show is offering you! After finding out what money he has lost, get a lawyer and take everything and divorce him. Your kids need to be involved too.
To the first caller - several banks have crashed, his investments actually sound very smart! People’s IRAs have crashed and will likely crash even more. I’d thank my husband for that. Real estate (most of the time) is a great investment. I wholeheartedly disagree with John. Gold, silver and real estate are great investments. Relax and begin investing on your own if you don’t like his choices.
I think that's definitely a conversation to have, but that's not the point. He completely left her out the conversation. And the last she was made aware, The money was in one kind of investment. Then she learns that he, without telling her ANYTHING, moved it all. (Maybe not literally all, but sounds like the majority of it.)
The big issue is that he left her completely out of the conversation, when a compromise could've been reached. She could've agreed to have half or a third in gold/silver ect. And most of it in something they both agreed to. Instead he hid and isolated himself from his wife.
John gives some crap advice sometimes tbh.

This lady's husband lost her retirement money. Never trust a spouse to manage your money with no supervision/input from you. She needs to open a separate individual checking account immediately and have her paycheck deposited in it.

To this woman, this made me cry for you and with you. You’re so brave and strong & I’m so sorry this happened to you.
If you see this I just wanted you to know how hard that is that he left you while you were meant to be in such a sacred & holy place with family. It’s not the same at all but my best friend of 15 years committed s* 1.5 years ago by shooting self in head. I was so sad and it was so devastatingly terrible and overwhelming that I wallpapered it off. I miss her often but one day out of nowhere and everywhere at same time I just totally came to terms with wow, I can’t believe she did that, and I Wonder why. I knew I’d never know and knew how much I loved and cared for her and I just smiled and forgave it all. I said out loud even I think, “I’m not mad at you. Life IS so hard, I get it. You are afraid, I don’t blame you for having a weak moment you can’t take back. This was your journey. This is your path. I’ll see you again.”
I didn’t cry after though did when I heard this call. I talk to her often. I don’t believe death is the end. I also realized that she didn’t do it to hurt me or anyone, I don’t even know if she wanted to really go, it was almost just like she made a brief choice (just one instant of follow through in imbalanced chemistry and depression) that couldn’t be taken back. It’s hard to be left behind in such a final way where it cannot be bartered isn’t it. Who knows what she was thinking and if after she died she’d regret it or not. Would she do it again? Etc etc. When you don’t give what happened a story about his intent or what it means or why he left and etc etc just know it happened, it can’t be fully be described in words, he loved you and if post death is a thing he still does.
In the far east it is said that everyone we’ve ever known has already been our partner, parent, friend, child. This is the path of the universe journeying itself through people in its ever unfolding mystery to learn itself. Earth is a heartbreaking & beautiful school.
I still go sit with my friend and talk to her to have new experiences/hang out & heal. For me I meet her in the woods & talk with her. At the beginning it was hard, she seemed lost and stuck. Now it’s easier. Time if allowed can soften it. He lives on in your own body dna & your children. And I believe souls live on eternally.

The first call - I ended my 7 years relationship with my ex due to the same situation. He is consumed by conspiracy theories and a doomed mentality. Exactly! It is bizarre behavior. According to them, they are always right about everything "they know." They have lost all touch with reality, I couldn't agree more.

He betrayed her trust…. Just because they still own some asset’s doesn’t mean that they are “safe” in the future from his tinkering without her knowledge. She needs to protect her financial future by any and all means.

She isn't going to do anything. Everything the doc says to do things she says "well he is trying". She isn't going to do anything.
Of course not. She's older. And, she's been married to him for 44 years.
I think what's bothering her more is that he's wanting to prepare for the future in a different way she wants to prepare as well as she wants to live "happy in the moment."
There was a movie I watched once, I think it was called, "The day after tomorrow."
Life had changed after a nuke hit down, and the wife still wanted to keep going about her day like normal, and when the husband wanted to bring her to the basement for her safety, she lost it, kicking and screaming.
People are afraid of the uncertainty of the times.
That's why she's reluctant to leave also.
Leaving also means uncertainty which is why she's focused on finances and security.
At least that's how it sounded to me.

I recently shared a cool video on how to prepare for a grid down situation, and he responded with not wanting to be hit with anxiety and called it "fear mongering."
I told him it's not about fear mongering.
In fact, one of my mottos is "Don't be scared, be prepared."
I told him it's like CPR, I don't work on my certifications because I'm afraid people are gonna die, no.
I keep my knowledge up to date for CPR, because I KNOW they do, and people collapse RANDOMLY.
And, I'd rather be prepared to save a life than having to deal with not knowing what to do when it happens.
But, regarding the 1st caller...
Honestly, though, I think they bith. want to prepare for the future but it looks different for both of them.
And, I don't think she sees that is a good thing.
And, it is a good thing because you don't want to put all your eggs in one basket.
It's good to have back ups for your backs ups.
He wants to prep in something that's tangible and physical.
And, in my opinion, she wants to keep doing it like people did before trusting the banks (banks which are actively collapsing, it's been on the news media, so no one can tell me it's not happening).
I feel she is scared because life is changing for real, and it's not stable like it once was, and it's frightening to face that reality.
The reality that life IS changing.
I feel like her wanting a divorce is being driven by fear.
I feel like she will regret going through with divorce BIG time, especially when he turns out to be right in these uncertain times.
I pray both find a renewed love for each other, for both to see each others as assets, that they are able to communicate in a way where they understand and see and love each other more in Jesus name. I pray God sends them ministering angels to stand strong. To be able to see reality for what it is and approach the changing times as an unstoppable team in Jesus name. ❤

What happened to the husband being the head of the household and the provider? He's provided her with not just 1 home but 3 home with walls lined with gold and silver. He is given her the greatest level of security he could possibly give her. Nobody makes perfect investments even if he lost some money in crypto currencies its no different then a loss in the stock market that happens to people every day. They have 3 homes that are paid for it sounds like they're very well-to-do. They do need counseling, and they're disconnected they need to reconnect not divorce. He's not disconnected, she is and you are there lot of bad stuff is happening in this world on tv not just a tablet. But any real Christian that is disconnected from any and all media should know what's happen is prophecy of Revelation. Lost a lot of respect for the show today. So to clarify, she didn't want to get divorced. But but she expressed her needs and he said I want out. Dr John just said to make a list of all finances and figure it out! He wasn't pushing for divorce or reconciliation. He was giving common sense.

What happened to the husband being the head of the household, well not everyone is Christian that’s arrogant, self righteousness and silly to expect everyone to follow a marriage based on your beliefs. Some of us want more of an equal or balanced partnership so that one person can’t totally derail the wellbeing of both people like the husband is doing here.
