I bought the NiSi Black Mist 1/8th a few short while ago. Honestly, I think it's a good amount of diffusion. There weren't really any reviews on YT, but since I'd had good experience with their IRNDs, thought I'd take a chance. Nice to see there's now a review!
Lmfao no one else would end a review video by layering all 6 filters on top of each other just because "why the fuck not?" and that's what I am here for
Nisi is the only one you can get in Europe lol, already own Tiffen and wanted to try out Cinebloom but shipping and taxes raised the price to double.... so now I'm testing out Nisi and it doesn't seem bad at all.
I know you made this 2 years ago so curious about your experience:) !!! Did you notice that the nisi seemed to loose a lot less contrast in some back lit scenarios vs the tiffen variant. Basically looking for the bloom but less washed out image potential :) !!! Hope you week is well 💪
Just bought NiSi 1/8 filter but… …am I the only one who can’t stack my ND filter (PolarPro PMVND ii) on it? Lens -> Mist works but I can’t stack the ND on top?
Do these mist filters always have to be used with some sort of light source in the shot? I got the NiSi 1/8, and barely ever see any difference vs not using it. Am I not using it in the correct situations? The only time i see a difference is if i use it at night, and having street lights in the shot. But anything else i can't even tell I had it on.
What causes this halation effect on older 70s films. If you watch something like jaws, you can see an ultra soft smearing effect very often. Is this.due to the older lenses used?
I'm on the same page as you, I've always been a fan of the pro mist filters and these nisi filters sit right there in the sweet spot for me stylistically.
Helpful review except you didn’t really show any footage besides the band using the tiffen 1/4, especially in any of the side by sides which would have been super helpful
I have same sigma 18-35 and on lense i have VND filter. so Can I put MIST filter or cinebloom over my VND? And do I need rotate filters like I rotate VND depend on shoot? thx you
Yes you can, no you don’t. There is no variation to any blooming filter, as basically a cloudy glass. In the old days and still today, photographers rub Vaseline over the lens for the same effect. You are quite literally putting a filter on. Only thing I’d suggest is putting the blooming filter on first
Damn you didn't have the Tiffen BPM 1/4 comrared to Nisi 1/4, because I want to choose between two. Tiffen handles blacks better but in bloom I think they are equal, because Tiffen's 1/8 is weaker 1/2 is harder than Nisi's 1/4. So Tiffen's 1/4 may be equal with Nisi's. I've got Nisi's VND and its really perfect glass, no color change, no crossing. I think Nisi makes professional glasses, too.
I've been looking for someone to do the ungodly diffusion stack. It came out as awful as I expected. Love it! Thumbs up, subscribed
Top Tip, use a thin rubber band on your screw filter, save over tightening but keeps them secure!

from what I understand the the 1/4 is for 50mm and above and the 1/8 is for 20mm and above something about the compression makes it a stronger effect
I also like the Cinebloom 10% most of all the comparisons, although at this point in the future the price has jumped up to $100 for the 82mm.
was not expecting to see my boy wes playing some kendama in the first minute of the video haha that's awesome

I have the k&f 1/4 and it definitely stacks up to tiffen!
Hi, im looking into k&f mist filters. Was yours the Nano x or nano k series? Thanks.
1:28 ahaha that момент😂👏
I think the Moment filters actually look the best.
That's some good halaysh right there 😤‼️
I don’t like the cinebloom for shooting people. Street and landscapes yes. But the tiffen is my fave
*loving the look of the pro mist filter .. but dang their costly .. hv to wait i , but will consider one in the future, thanks for the review*
Eh. It looks like they blur everything, with Tiffen light sources bloom but the rest stays reasonably sharp.
Have you tried testing K&F's Black Mist Filter? They said it's cheap but is also similar to Tiffen's.
I may be getting some of those soon for testing!

use lens wrenches to get those sticky filters out, first time it drove me mad how tight it got.

Would you consider doing a comparison of this with the newly released Vaxis 95mms?
then too .. if ur given only 1 choice to use a filter for your professional shoot .. which one will u choose ? .. tiffen or nisi ?
if we dont talk about price point.. I still prefer the look of moment

Hello. can we screw a sun hood on the Nisi filter? can we screw a 1/8 black mist onto a 1/4 black mist? . thank you so much
i think they are warmer and do not do well in softening the skin but for halation they are good, my question can i stack ND filter with it ?
I'm ordering one of these. New sub. Cool video.

I just got Nisi 1/4 black mist filter and I noticed my photos looks very grainy even at iso 100. I dunno what went wrong. Is that normal?

Problem is that I have very different diameters on my lenses. :(
Step up and step up even more!

Love your style. Thanks for good info too. Nisi 1/8th it is :)
nisi doesnt seem to have 52mm filter size, correct me if i'm wrong.
Step down rings
Moment is the best 😂😂
Love me some good halatio...
Make all your images look like the movie Carrie
Hi Zachy boy! 👋🏻
A little WD40 on the thread before you attach it to the lens should help.
You're wearing the same shirt as I am right now hahaha
Not biased at all !!
stack: hysterical
You can also rub your finger on the lens
Awesome
2:15 hahahhahaha
What? Момент? this joke is великолепна!)))
Момент как 25й кадр, я угараю😂
