That is a beautiful wise thing to say but i wonder what if she didn't have a "pretty" face (i put these " because everything is relative of course) and why this isn't very inspiring for men too because the guys with whom she take pictures are quite Fit, i absolutely acknowledge that there are different kinds of beauty cuz i'm not an asshole so i'm pretty sure that i'm missing a part of the puzzle here but still i wonder please is there anyone there who could answer?
Although humans these days focus on looks, kids get bullied for how they from looking bad and that will always lead to shame but sometimes shame is good because in can encourage to change for the better
I made that mistake with my girls. I spent all their lives telling them how beautiful they are while constantly complaining about my own looks and body. They cannot see their beauty. Let's hope they don't make my mistakes.
Thank you for being so honest we are all here learning and hopefully still have time for you to let them know how beautiful you are and feel and they can change too
I just have to say that I love her laugh sm, like she laughs in such an honest way, it's almost like her lungs and stomach are laughing first and it somehow just shows on her face... ok that was weird but the point is she sounds so honest
I am in my 50's, and I thank Ashley from the bottom of my heart for showing all generations, simply by being her brave, bold self, that beauty comes in all sizes. She takes the shame out of size.
I wish I would’ve been told about words when I was young. They do matter... but you know what? I have a daughter and I’m grateful I’ll be able to tell and show her!
*As long as we draw the sense of self from external validation, we will never be content with what we have.* We cannot control what others think and feel. We have a hold only of our minds and it's up to us to decorate the perception that it is projecting. Be good to yourself and the life will smile at you.
I really needed this. I grew up with a mother and sisters who had so many self esteem issues. Ever since I started getting "big-boned" as a teen I have struggled. I am always calling myself fat, ugly, worthless, etc. I only do positive self talk when someone gives me that challenege. For goodness sakes I couldn't come up with 5 things I like about myself when my counselor asked. If anyone asks me to be honest about myself it will be 100% negative. I hope one day I can see myself like she sees herself. :(
I like her...I genuinely really like her.She seems real and genuine and that can be harder and harder to find these days.Even people who say they are "being real"on youtube or social media, you still know it is the edited version and lacks authenticity but with her you feel like she is the real deal.Great role model for self acceptance in general no matter what size, how wealthy etc .I really hope whatever she does whether it is modelling or whatever that she continues this work of not allowing anyone else to define you or your worth because it is so easy to happen
Instead getting a good grade and passing the requirement classes all over school yrs and college yrs the requirement should mental and physical health, and kids getting examined and rewarded for being healthy mentally, emotionally and physically, then some sort of reward for academic achievements based on each individual's best suited talents and skills, most kids are lost and have no clue what to do after high school, or even college.
I love Jay's stated mission for why he makes these 3-4 minute videos. He's not making them to answer every question, and he understands the limitations of the short video format. His stated mission is to "start a conversation" around that topic. I love that. Top down. Submit content that people can interact with, then meet people where they are as individuals. Everyone's situation is different. We have to make it personal. Takeaways: As a person/consumer, don't reject content that's not a tailored fit to my exact situation. Understand the person posting the content, identify the root message, translate that to my life and see what it would look like. Try that. THEN judge the results. In his podcast on what to do before work, he talks about waking up hours before YOUR DAY starts. He doesn't say "wake up at 4 because all the cool kids are doing it." He says, "I know your life is unique. But giving yourself time before the start of your day helps to..." As a content creator: Don't write to everyone. Don't make the content so general that no one can relate. Try to give threads to different people that they can pull on and start a conversation.
It's such an amazing episode!!!! I'm now on a persistent work on self love and this episode put a great understanding of not definding yourself with anything from outside. I've rewatched it many times. Thank you!
I don't know why long videos have less views. May be its because we want quicker results unconsciously. We don't want to invest in time maybe. Whats your thoughts... Edited : i love Ashley voice.. ❤️
I needed to hear it . We all know the fact, that our life is not defined by how we look or what we make , what kind of work we do .its defined by just loving ourselves and others and lessons and memories we go through 😇
Thank you both for having such an authentic conversation. My learning moment was when Ashley speaks of not being wrapped up in one thing, or one accomplishments. I want to add to it, that irrespective of what profession we pursue, sometimes it is harder to accomplish what we truly believe, because of the value it holds for us. (P.S: External validation/ rejection and misrepresentation are just as easily when your CV/resume reads "immigrant"," non-resident alien" despite factual accomplishments+ professional conduct/character ). Conversations like these give me hope and strength to do the right thing, pursue my goals, versus buckle under all the noise....So thank you for creating great content.
Thank you Jay for interviewing this beautiful gorgeous young women. It’s refreshing to see someone who isn’t ‘ideal’ in the fashion world. I can relate to her immensely in terms of size and feeling of not being accepted or judged for being different. We need more girls in the industry to show all kinds of beauty and sizes. I’m tired of seeing the same models all the time feeding us what isn’t ideal and true. It’s okay to be healthy and not have a 24 inch waist.
I already loved Ashely because of her repping us big girls but this interview...MAAAAAGIC!!!!!!!! this brought us closer to the model we see on magazines and even the activist we saw on TedTalk...this shows us Ashley as an everyday woman we can all relate to and that is PURE GOLD. anyone who is "different" in whatever community they are in can benefit richly from this convo. AND her massive, room-shaking laugh is phenomenal!
Ashely has been amazing! I enjoyed listening to her talk, she’s such a great person. So humble honest and open, of coarse very beautiful on top of that. And Jay is an incredible listener, interviewer and great at what he does 👍👌🤓☀️☀️☀️☀️
I am sooo....grateful that i wanted this vidéo. I love Ashley because despite of what she looks like, she is a model. I was regected ans refused all kinds of modeling deals just cuz I was considered 'fat' even when I was my slimmest and that broke me. This vidéo will help me Maintain my confidence so that I can feel good enough again.
I just realized I could actually watch the podcast on RUclips TODAY!! Hahahahaha 🤦🏻♀️ Loved the part in which you tell people to record them arguing and then play back to themselves. 🙌🏼
OMG!! MIND BLOWING, two of my MUST LISTEN TO in motivational speak together! God bless you!! I just love to hear that it doesn't matter which industry she is, she talks about GOD, it is not about the religion it is more of the meaning He has for her that is underestimated nowadays. BRILLIANT people together... Love it!!!
I am so thankful for her. She is so incredible.. I've always struggled with my own body image.. I've had people tell me I could be a model..I never understood that.. but because of her, and her beauty and confidence and brains she has changed the way the world sees beauty. I loved how she mentioned how when children hear how the mother talks about their body affects the child.. and my mom HATED her body and was ALWAYS critical of herself.. Ashley makes me tear up.. I love her so much. She's changed the way I see myself. A beautiful sexy model who has my curvy body type. She was destined to change so many womens lives. 🙏🏻💗💗😍😍😍😍💗💗💗💗💗 she's amazing..
Jay and Ashley - thank you thank you thank you for sharing your wisdom in such a beautiful and engaging way. I received sooo much inspiration from this video - I am so grateful thank you! Peace of I ❤️
Dear Jay, this is the first time I've decided to comment, even though I've been following you for at least a year. I have to say I'm very grateful for the values and the message you've been sending. I've come a long way because of your work and because of these wonderful souls you've introduced to us. I must say that you both (Jay Shetty and Ashley Graham) are great inspirations to me. I hope to meet you one day, I'm sure I will. I got to know the five love languages through your video with dear Radhi Devlukia and it had a great impact on my life. Now, I was very surprised by this "five figth languages" idea, can you explain it better in a future video? People are supposed to have as a rule only one of those ways of reacting to a discussion ? I identify with the four you talked about, depending on the situation and the people the discussion takes place with. I'd love to know more about it. Thank you so much for everything. I wish you all the best. I apologize if my English isn't perfect. Maybe because I'm not sure I'm communicating correctly I just decided to take the initiative now (I'm Portuguese).
This interview with Ashley was so inspiring Jay! I would like to meet her someday! For modelling she would be an excellent mentor! Help me connect! Please!
OMG I love her ,Ashley is so gorgeous so beautiful and down to earth person, I enjoyed the Podcast very much, Jay u said we would love it Thank you and blessings much love.

I loved to listen about her journey, it's so important to share those valuable experiences and lessons so we can all relate to them and learn about ourselves...affirmation is the key. Thanks again Jay.
