    Nerida, thank you for being so educated about this type of acne, i have the same exact issue on my cheeks going on that Juliette does. I never had any acne there, but i had my skin Dermaplaned and the day after i broke out terribly in this area and it has since been a year. I think it may have revealed an underlying issue i had going on and i have since stopped eating some foods and the flares definitely are charged by my diet. So many professionals have told me it is hormonal or stress, but i don't believe this to be the cause, even though those 2 things can definitely make it worse. It is comforting to hear you saying what i have known to be true for so long about my own skin

    That’s the thing about acne; you just never know what the underlying condition could be. Could be food, environmental, oily skin, hormonal, etc. I have super oily skin with large pores, and have never suffered from acne. In fact it’s very rare if I have a breakout. I say this, only because just because someone has oily skin, doesn’t mean they have or will have acne. So very good point Nerida makes

    One of my favorites so far. Very informative. Nerida, may I ask your opinion on how far apart clients should “generally” wait between peels if they are non TCA without unsightly peeling, where the strengths are restricted to:
    1) Unbuffered alpha-hydroxy acids at concentrations less than 15%; .... 2) Buffered concentrations of alpha- hydroxy acids of 10-30% where pH is more than 3; ....
    3) Any concentration or formulation of alpha hydroxy acids less than 30%.
    Of course it would vary by clients skin condition and prepping skin properly, but I value your opinion, thank you!

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  5 лет назад

      Its hard to say, as it depends on the brand and it carrier it is in. Rejuvi i could use every week maybe even 2x week at a lower pH because of its carrier. Your % is low and pH high ....i would imagine every week...but not sure on your brand and its composition:))

    • @Crystal-xm6zu
      @Crystal-xm6zu 5 лет назад +2

      Nerida Joy Oh yes sorry I was vague! My Product is Bioelements. Great ingredients, never fragrance. .... Lactic is 30% (water, lactic, sodium lactate, glycerin, propanediol, Lacrobacillus, pumpkin fruit extract) ... Glycolic Charcoal Peel is 25% Glycolic Acid, 5% lactic, Coconut Charcoal & Willowherb. I have it in a lower strength as well but the ingredients are wonderful, glycerin being the main carrier and water second, then aloe vera with sugar cane & citrus, cucumber & lavender extracts. .... Each peel is a about 5-7min.
      So far the soonest I will do peels are no less than 3weeks apart. After we reach a certain goal with their results, we do one a month tops but every 2-3months is the place I like them to be if they have a good at-home-regimen in place with aha’s, retinols and enzyme. In the beginning stages I wonder if every 3wks is too frequent in your opinion?

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  5 лет назад +1

      @@Crystal-xm6zu It depends on if you have prepped the skin well. If the skin is healthy you can peel it more frequently. I sometimes peel every 10 days if i need to work more aggressive with acne pitting:))

I have a question, do you have specific percentage of lactic peel that you use on her skin, and will there be another peel for for similar result or it has to be rejuvi? The rejuvi lactic peel is one product controlled all by you and the amount of applications you put onto the skin. A super strong peel you do not apply the pre-peel solution before the peel, but i always use it. I have done several peels in my videos so I am hoping you will feel more comfortable about applying once you see them all. This is what I am showing in my workshop next month. The difference between a skin that shows dairy intollerance, candida and other related congestion issues coming from the inside-out. When I analyze the skin, I can see what is the problem by what the congestion looks like and its location. Its just knowing what to look for.....and that is why skin analysis is sooooo important:))

Its obviously good since you recommend so much and all your videos show such great results. Is this a cleanser you would use twice daily? Hi Nerida, whats the best way to use glycolic acid? Face wash, moisturizer, serum? Thank you! Also, what is the name of the flavonoid you use?

    • @devon.pfeifer
      @devon.pfeifer 6 лет назад +1

      Abigail Morse Hi 👋🏼 I think this depends on the specific issue at hand, and what you are trying to treat. In my opinion, the more I work with exfoliating cleansers the less I like them... I like the idea of being able to cleanse and exfoliate in one product, but I find that eventually, a lot of them create surface dryness, and are sometimes irritating for some people. I do like them a lot in a gel/cream/serum, however, with some products you need to be careful with some products that you leave on, especially if you have a deeper skin tone/are of an ethnicity that has a higher propensity to tan/pigment. Some can make problems worse. However some are mild and okay for everyone. These products can be used to treat pigmentation, soften wrinkles, and sometimes alleviate acne conditions, for a longer term solution. However some products like the exfoliating mask that Nerida uses, is many times a slightly stronger product but only left on for a short period of time and then removed. This type of exfoliant, to me, is suitable for almost everyone, with most types of conditions, to get rid of dryness, and as a sort of prep for what you put on next, whether it be a mask, another serum, another exfoliant product like a peel, or otherwise. Glycolic specifically is a tricky acid to work with. And it completely depends on how it is formulated into certain products.

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  6 лет назад +2

      Hi Abigail, firstly, the q flavonoid is the rejuvi brand. I am assuming you are not an Estie but inquiring for yourself on how to include glycolic acid in your home care regimen. Without knowing your brand, I would safely say keep it with either your serum or moisturizer. Glycolic is just one molecule of the aha grouping, but a good one that gets to live cells and makes changes in the skin on texture, pore size, scaring and wrinkles. It is true also with what Devon has written, some glycolic acids are tricky:))

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  6 лет назад

      If it has been applied as part of the massage, yes:) but only because I will then be possibly doing extractions and a mask. If I am not doing extractions and using a hydrating cream mask, then maybe not:) Depends on the skin and what I am choosing to do that day for my client :)

      I am aggressive with my extractions and that is how I get the results I do so quickly. Hi nerida! What are your thoughts on a teenager (17) using a Clarisonic for cleansing everyday? I told my client to cut back on that to maybe once a week. She has acne, but it’s not like Juliette. But she has lots of congestion in her chin and jawline to cheeks, but it’s not bad, but her skin feels tough/thick and i was wondering if it’s because she’s using that Clarisonic too much. Thoughts?

    • @NeridaJoySkincare
      @NeridaJoySkincare  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, you are correct in that the clarisonic can thicken/toughen the skin. I would say 3 times a week max...make sure your client is using a gentle non-foaming cleanser and mild non-granular exfoliant regularly to help their texture:))
