      Ironic that all other guns are RNG (with a MINIMUM dmg value) giving them the ability to one-shot at any range, or take an entire mag in CQC, but the 'vault' weapons are the only ones that have any sort of balancing, which is what makes them so fucking weak.

      cuz "modern" weapons of the game are better than the old ones (vault weapons), go to bf3 and try, you gonna see in 2042 are best than the antique guns in previus bfs

    Very good video. I loved BF3&4's gunplay and the fact you had to understand and manage recoil and burst firing to be effective at range. BF2042 has none of that and the gunplay feel lifeless because of that.

      Thats true... A system like BF3 and 4 but less extreme, so that guns are more effective at range than in these games would be great.
      They shouldnt go to the extreme with changes bc that would hurt the community that still plays 2042, like the changes they made in BF5 to the gunplay/ttk. Most people lost interest already and changing stuff too much, the players who still play it could also be lost.
      Let's be honest here, they will never change it anyway now, bc that would mean work xD

      BF3 and 4 had like no recoil. Bullet spread is the reason you didn’t really need recoil.

      That you are mashing BF3 and BF4 together is rather irritating. The pure fact, that BF3 used a 3 hit kill balance, were bf4 went to 4 to 5 hits to kill makes the the two games so extremely different in terms of their gun play, that I would never bunch them together in one.

    My biggest problem is how claustrophobic it feels (ironic considering the map size), you're literally never safe because of the ability of pretty much all weapons being able to kill anyone at any range. I don't remember the last time I felt at least somewhat safe during combat. Bursting like you said is definitely a great solution, they can look at literally any good shooter from back in the day and take some notes

      Right. It leads to zero team strategy because there is no reward for taking a wide flank or holding superior positions. It feels completely intentional, though, given the lack of squad system. Everyone is always in every fight all the time and dont need to depend on squad lead to position them.

      It's not the advantage you think it is.
      The advantage you are no doubt losing to is framerate.
      I've been playing on 4k tvs since they came out and it made little difference.
      Then I recently bought a 4k tv with 125 fps and it improved my k/d ratio by at least 30 percent natively.
      Frame rates win games.

    I feel this, I recently played battlefield 4 and it takes a lot of skill to shoot at range or even medium distances. You have to control the spread and burst fire. This makes gunfights take longer and are more engaging. Also I like the way bf4 characters all reacted to your bullets as you shot them whereas in 2042 they are static until they die.

      @@IntrestingYTObserver That's because the spread in BF4 could be completely negated by just tap firing really fast as spread reset insanely fast. BF1 gunplay had more spread but it could be negated by pacing shots and bursting properly, this allowed guns to have their own zones in which they excelled in but also where they were weak. You weren't going to beam someone out to 80 meters with a smg and you weren't going to out shoot a smg with a semi auto rifle. Battlefield gunplay in BFV and BF2042 is completely brain dead. BFV for getting rid of spread in SLRs and then giving every automatic random recoil that you cannot negate, BF2042 for just being a hold mouse button and laser people kind of game with big open maps....so fun.

      @@bran1886 I guess it was a bad idea to give weapons hitscan spread in a game with wide open maps since all you need to counter is recoil, gunkick, muzzle velocity and bullet drop. Which sounds like a lot but after you play the game for an hour it becomes pretty easy honestly with some weapons

    Completely agree.
    Getting 2-3 kills in quick sucession in BF3 / BF4 was so rewarding and almost clip-worthy. Meanwhile I can mow down 10 people in a row in BF2042 and not feel a single thing.
    It also leads into the map design with so much verticality, rat spots etc. and you're basically a sitting duck all the time.

      They designed it like that to increase player retention. If players THINK they are good at the game and getting lots of kills, they will keep playing, is the Dev mindset. Thats part of the reason for dumbing down the game and making it easy mode.

    I'm a rifler, so the easy recoil and mid-range success that they have benefits me, but I kinda agree with Enders. I used to snipe in previous BF games alot more, but aggressive sniping in this game is redundant due to the other guns out competing mid range

      When I tested the game during the free trial I pretty much instantly assessed that going for bolt-action rifles is rather pointless. It was way easier landing shots and killing enemies at range with fully-automatic guns like assault rifles. The lacking depth in gunplay is another reason why I personally never got into the game.

    Changes as suggested in the video would have the added benefit of making the guns feel more unique. Current gun play does however have the bonus of evening out the field between legit players and scripters.

    bro I shed a tear when you brought up the point with snipers. so many times i gett people be like "Skill issue" when I complain about how an AR or SMG shouldnt be able to take engagements with me on long ranges (150m+) and CONFIDENTLY win them. like, at that point why am i even playing a sniper if I can just pick up the RM68, slap on long barrel HP rounds and set it to single fire... It 3 shots up to like 170m, with (What feels like) less bullet drop and faster bullet speed simply because i can shoot way more often than i can with a sniper or marksman. ONTOP of that, I can use a 4x on it without scope glint... sometimes i feel like using a 2x on a sniper already gives scope glint

    I can't cope with this game anymore. It takes me just to launch the game play for 2 minutes and I already get ragequits. Teams are not balanced. I'm always put in a team with brainless chickens who don't play the objective or revive. Vehicles can shoot through walls (non destructable ones obviously). Actually happened to me a few times, hit reg is awful, connection is sometimes trash as well. Battlefield is done. I don't think anything good can come from this franchise anymore. It pains me to say this as I have enjoyed every single Battlefield game except for Hardline, Battefield V and now this one.

    You're so right, yet so, so, wrong...
    Random spread shouldn't exist in FPS games. Putting it in the game is not the answer.
    Reducing the damage range of guns, reducing bullet velocity, and increasing recoil and bullet drop, is the answer.

    Gunplay and Audio design are the worst part of 2042. In BF4, each gun feels heavier and the audio design of each guns are excellent. This takes the skill from us and gives a long lasting satisfaction effect. But in 2042, most gun feels like laser beam. Its easier to get kills, which inturn gives a boring effect soon. Thus producing less and lesser satisfaction.

      I think the audio of 2042 is very good actually - I can hear exactly where enemies are in relation to my position in 3 dimensions at all times. Maybe you're using a pair of shitty 'gaming' headphones 🤣🤣 Try a decent pair of open backed, hifi headphones. It's a night and day difference 😊

    This is all true. I’m not sure what goes through the minds of the developers. After Battlefield 5, it seems all previous knowledge they should have had was just thrown out the window. To this day, I still get frustrated playing this because of the gunplay. It feels like all guns are the same and the only thing differing them is recoil. My favorite gun is the M16A3, which is a portal gun not balanced like the base game weapons, but that’s besides the point. You can stick on the heavy barrel, laser, and any sight of your choice and at least for me it becomes this ultra versatile beast for all ranges. It has no recoil, no spread, great rpm, decent hip fire with a laser,and many underbarrel weapons(shotguns and grenade launchers). It is not the gunplay that is the only problem , but the plus system. The plus system completely ignores any and all restrictions of using every gun. If you use the M5A3 and design it to be used at close range to mid range, that is how you’re supposed to use it. With the plus system, no matter how you design your gun initially, it just doesn’t matter because if you come across a situation you were not prepared for at first, you can change your gun mid gun fight and exploit the games system to win that gunfight. This also greatly reduces the support classes role, as most players will not care because they can carry 3 kinds of ammo. In the next Battlefield game, they need to scrap the plus system and bring back any gunplay before Battlefield 5 or even Battlefield 1, no one likes random recoil or spread.

    He's right, the reason it was hard for me to enjoy 2042 is because let's say BF1... when im sniping a assualt player and hes in the open im not really afraid of him... he sees me and knows my role is better at distance so he moves left to right and hopes i cant aim good. In 2042 any player you see in the open isn't afraid. If they see you they can beam you down in 3 secs

    I want leaning back. I want the combat roll back, that shit was fire. I want laying on your back, back. All the shit they added in bfv was a huge improvement to movement. Bring back airdrop and arming artillery batteries. Bring back AA fortification guns. I miss fortifications.

    I kinda disagree with this video. Let me explain.
    Spread is not the issue. The issue are two things: Recoil and TTK.
    Spread is a mechanic that punishes you for no reason. It is absurd that anyone would belong for a mechanic that makes being accurate useless since no matter how good at tracking and movement you are, bullets have a mind of their own.
    But how do we some the lazerbeemy nature of 2042? Simple, recoil. With recoil you are incentivize to pace your shots while not punishing you with random inaccuracy. There's a reason why almost every other shooter goes this route instead of just lazyly adding spread and call it a day. It is a dumb frustrating mechanic.
    Another important tweak? The TTK. They need to adjust it just a bit, not too much, because right now you have guns like the SFAR that kill in like 200ms, as fast as blinking.

    I like the game but I completely understand your point. I like constructive critisms and this is just that.
    Can’t they just shortened the range? Add bullet drop or lower velocity? What happens to AR bullets after 100m ? They loose power ? They drop? They disapear? Whatever mecanics make them not hit a target beyond 100m just needs to pull it back to let say 75m for a Ar and 50m for a Smg. LMG are another beast. They should need to reset after 30-50 bullets to regain accuracy. But not with a bipod. The bipod should at last double that count. That could also serve as a profencies for the engineer class.

    I downloaded this gme, for free thankfully, and gave it a try for about a week. I couldnt understand how the fuck I was getting killed acorss the map let alone being SEEN. You can peek a head hiding behind a barrier from 75 goddamn yards. I uninstalled and concluded that this game was absolute trash.

    I think the gunplay of 2042 is a holdout from it's terrible map design at launch. DICE had absolutely no idea how to balance around maps that large so they just went "F it!" and made it so SMG's are automatic DMR's in 2042.

    100m in BF 2042 = in other BF games 50m. Nerfings this guns will only result in camping sniper shit meta and the snipers in this game have 1000m openfield line of sight. They need to fix the maps to 64P and then balance the guns, but its to late for this.

    I felt this a lot when I tried to get the marksman kills for this weeks bp. People were just beaming me across the map with the RM, m5a3, sfar or even smgs like ak74u and pp 29. I probably do it a lot too but just don't realise it. It feels so bad to play a sniper in this game, especially compared to bf5 or bf1. Just use an RM68 or any lmg and just hold down the fire.

    I think bfv had it right, most lmgs couldn’t be aimed unless the bipod was deployed (making it more of a defensive weapon) smgs were good at close range and assault rifles were good at medium range but could not compete with a sniper rifle at long range etc, but all weapons felt fairly effective and the recoil wasn’t over the top making it frustrating or too hard to hit shots

    To be fair.... its more than plausible that the few thousand that still play this game think the gun play is good. The hundreds of thousands who left agree with you that its shite. I played again last weekend when it became free on PS and although it has improved a bit there were still far too many big sigh moments.

    I get sprayed down by a smg from sniper rifle ranges and I'm like why is this pea shooter killing me faster than my AR, lmg or sniper rifle can outdamage him & the fact that grenades kill through walls now all of a sudden

    Thats true, i miss the BF4 agressive sniping with 4x scope. Here is impossible, all snipers are camping far away and i can understand. Even de DMR are useless . And Dice please remove the explosive ammu from transport vehicles, is really annoying.

    I honestly agree here with the gunplay. I like it but I never stay on for long because it really isn’t any challenge to me.
    A lack of a skill gap tends to hurt long term play because there is nothing to master, nothing to work towards, and therefore no good reason to keep playing.
    It also tends to make guns feel the same when it really shouldn’t. I can kind of see a future where our guns get so accurate and advanced that they lack recoil but for gameplay it really holds back a lot.
    I always thought the real issue was audio but it makes sense that they don’t make as much noise because they are futuristic models made out of lighter materials and refined designs. Guns these days will only get quieter and deadlier.
    The guns in 2042 lack weight and skill to use coupled with lame audio compared to earlier games.

    I agree with you for the most part. However, keep in the engagements in this games maps are overwhelmingly open and long distance and I don’t think players would enjoy a sniper/marksman heavy gameplay.
    I think there’s a middle ground for sure. I also wish we had some less open maps.

    You hit this on the nail. Generally why i don't enjoy this game anymore because I'm getting beamed at ludicrous distances.
    I'd add that the headshot multiplier is also a serious problem. On ARs and LMGs, they simply invalidate Marksman Rifles and Sniper Rifles.

    I think the insane amount of range of all the weapons is due to the fact that this game was originally going to be a battle royale. DICE was probably tuning the weapons with those long engagement distances in mind. Distances you often see in games like Warzone.
    But when they backtracked and started making a normal battlefield game, they probably forgot to dial back the weapons.

    I honestly cannot agree more with you, and I'm glad you're covering this topic tbh. I've always been a Sniper main since BC2. But since 2042, I've switched to the oh so underrated crossbow. Everytime I use a bolt action I get a chest shot hit marker from 180m out, they turn and see my obnoxious glint and beam me with their Advancys or M5 without hesitating. Bolt action snipers are 100% worthless in this game. At least the Crossbow is a one shot inside around 40m and anything past that I use the explosive bolt. Weapons NEED balancing.

      On console even with lower recoil than PC I think for some weapons we still have to burst.
      + I kept my habits from bf3, over 50m I start to burst, over 100m I only tap the trigger for 1 or 2 bullets to be fired, I even sometimes put my AR in semiauto with x4 scope for +100m kills
      But yeah I understand Enders feeling.

      ​@@mun_e_makrpsn1328 controller user here on pc and ngl, the RM-68 def feels like ur using some type of recoil cheats, esp if u combine Close Combat Mags + CCN Brake Surpressor (The One You Were Talking About) + The STNR Laser Sight.
      And... Congrats, you can now spray up to 80-110 meters with almost no recoil whatsoever although the TTK will not be as good as below 80M .
      ( *Probably* Broken on Console since some of my friends said the Aim Assist feels much stronger than pc's )

    Game play sux if your on a console in this cross platform disaster. Until BF gives native Mouse and Keyboard support on console then they will not get any more of my money. Watching your video and other creators you guys shoot lasers while console players jump all over the place. The speed that PC players can snap to a player is BS. I have never seen a console payer get the highest number of kills ever.

    I agree, no reason to play dmr or sniper really. Another thing that NOONE talks about is how easy it is to kill with holo1.25x compared to say ghost hybrid 4x. Which basically means no reason to use any other scopes either at longer distances.

    100% agree with you. I find it strange using a PP and being able to outgun an AR at long range, where in other FPS Games I would never consider this, and try using more flank moves or cover to cover to close down the range to out gun them. Bf2042 has a very different gunplay than most fps which took me by surprise when first playing

    It's true on what you're saying but it might be a bit too late. If they changed the gunplay in earlier seasons, this would have worked. It might end up being another BFV TTK 2.0 situation wherein they lost a bit of momentum.
    I do agree that we need a bit more spread to stop automatic weapons in countersniping sniper rifles and DMRs.

    I’m a new player in 2042 and I haven’t really had a problem, but I really do understand what you’re saying completely. Bf4’s gunplay felt good for me in my opinion but it did need some rework by what everyone is saying on RUclips and whatnot.
    2042 needs a weapon tuning overhaul so I don’t keep getting sprayed down by the 2042 scar from god knows where they were hiding from 200+ meters away.

    I kinda agree on this one. I'm a agressive sniper/dmr player because I like those satisfying 1 shot headshot rewarded by good aiming.
    But in this game, there is no recoil, neither bloom. You can be melted at any range by assault rifles with 3 or 4 bullets.
    + In this game no dmr can one tap headshot and sniper aim speed are on the slower side. The way to snipe is to sit fare away from the enemies but it's so boring to play like that I don't play like this.

    Mastering burst fire was my thing back in BF4. Coming to BF2042 I still do it but quickly realize spread isn't penalize as much. Recoil control is all you need and the rest becomes redundant after a while...

    The ability to engage at almost any range with most weapons is a huge problem. I miss the days where there was some sort of tactics involved in gun fights, you couldn't just pick the gun with the best balance of low recoil, high RPM and damage and destroy the lobby. I'll admit I didn't play much of BF3 or 4 but I loved the gunplay in BF1, they need to get back to something resembling that in a modern setting.

      As far as noobish thing can get BF1's gunplay was the noobiest friendly thing ever . That being said and not to piss on your parade cause i'm not . BF1 overall was mad fun but except for playing medic it didn't promote accuracy while shooting and in accord with the settings it shouldn't . But by far going back to BF4 gun's mechanics , cause most of the gun had personality , and a part from the aesthetics of the gun u knew why u used them for . U don't have to get into Insurgency/Arma 3 semi realistic gunplay but not as arcady as CoD just a middle ground like in BF3/4 at least making it somehow challenging . Cause rn Enders is for once quite right and got some fair points tbh .

    I appluad this video, it's what is killing the game for me!
    As I said in one of yout older videos I could use the same weapon in BFBC2 and BF3 for hundreds of hours and still not get bored of it.
    Last year when I jumped back on BF3 I was trying weapons I've never even used after over 3000+ hours playtime and I had a blast getting used to them.
    Meanwhile 2042 I'm completely bored of them all with 560 hours playtime.
    Even the newest weapons I find dull and that's because without any learning curve an just having basic pick up and play mechanics makes for a very boring game.
    You do not have to compensate for anything other than a little bit of recoil that actually feels off or quite random in 2042.

      Facts.
      I found only 1 AR that gave me a bit of bf3 feeling, it’s the AM40, hardly hits at long range and got a bit more recoil than the other AR that are almost all laserbeams.
      I play on console tho, but I remember battling with my famas on karkand strike and oh boy that was some harsh recoil to fight

      and I don't think it's only about the gunplay/combat itself, the sound and visual design just felt so much better in previous titles. Shooting an MG34 or MG42 was just a whole different and more fun experience than shooting those budget Laser LMGs.

    At the most basic, rudimentary level, this game failed to prioritize the key three aspects of what makes a good FPS. Gunplay, movement, and map design. In that order, it seems they prioritized the superficial aspects and yet still failed miserably considering how convoluted and messy the UI is. Not to mention the bad legibility. Makes me want to vomit.

    i think its more complicated than the guns being too easy to use. its also poor map design and netcode issues. most of my rage in bf2042 is because i was 1 framed with no opportunity to respond, my hits failing to register, shot while behind cover, caspers sitting in the back doing fk all, "HOW DAFUQ DID HE NOT DIE", "I JUST SPAWNED IN!", "GET ON THE POINT FFS!" yknow, stuff like that.

    Gunplay-wise BF5 is my favorite, I like the different engagement ranges, and the guns just feel the best to use. BF5 > BC2 > BF3 > BF4 > BF1 and I especially prefer the BC2 Vietnam roster to the the main game.
    Same tier-list for the vehicles, BF5 vehicles just felt like you were there experiencing the real thing in-person. Rattling, clanking, smoking... sound recordings of the real-life vehicles.
    Accuracy Penalty > Damage Penalty
    Because I would rather struggle to hit a guy, than laserbeam a guy with 10+ rounds to kill them... bullet-sponge just instantly ruins games for me.

    The ranges of all BF games have been broken since BF5. The biggest reason I quit. You are right on with your comments. The game was dumbed down for Call of Duty fans to bring them in cause they couldn't handle spread and recoil. This game is fast-paced and assault dominant. Still playing BF1 and will not play or buy another game unless gun play reverts to BF3/BF4/BF1 levels regardless of what map or fancy new toy they add to the game. Fire the idiot who created Flying Weirdo 360 sniping gameplay.

    BF4 assault rifle: 100 meter clip worthy kill
    BF2042: Useful at more then 100+ meters
    Real Life AR-15 effective range: 550 meters.
    I like realism in gunplay:) Also I think sniping in BF2042 is a lot better then in BF4, while the assault rifles are able to shoot back this time, range does favor the sniper in 2042. I do think however that some guns are too powerful *cough RM68 cough* since getting killed by people just because they are using a certain gun instead of them being more skilled can grind some gears sometimes. If battlefield were even more realistic, then tanks should be 1 shot kill to javelins, AR's should have a range of 500+ meters, snipers much closer to 1.5 kilometers and SMG's still operable at well past 100 meters. let me tell you this though, I'd much rather try and tap fire a guy with the SFAR from 100+ meters then play deathmatch against AEK sweats in lockers all the time in BF4. And before anyone says "skill issue", I think that my KD favors my side.

    Weapons should have a Maximum range of damage, let me explain.
    Any pistol or submachine gun should have a maximum range of 40-50 meters and after that distance do less than 10 damage, Same with ARs and LMGs the maximum range should be 80-100m , the maximum for DMR should be 120m+ and snipers 150m+
    (Also changing the headshot multiplier to be by caliber and not by weapon category... The AK74u ​​has the same headshot damage multiplier as the PBX and the AK74u ​​uses 5.45 and the PBX .45ACP... If it was up to me I would leave the damage multiplier at X2 for all weapons)
    This is a nice change that affects PC and consoles alike, avoiding a platform gap between PC and consoles.

    Good points, and personally what really makes me hate this game's gunplay are engagements like @8:00 where for some reason the recoil randomly kicks in a CQC situation making you miss shots from basically point blank, add that to the fact the the mouse input is STILL not fixed and that the game runs like my grandma, and you get the most inconsistent and in general worst gunplay/aiming experience I've ever had, and that's coming from someone who played ARK on a 750ti laptop.
    I mean fuck, I finally managed to build a decent system with a 12600kf, 1080ti and 32GB of RAM only to feel like I'm playing on a 60Hz laptop with VSync on... simply embarrassing, thankfully I only paid 18€ for this POS

    One way to replace spray could be to have fix recoil patterns ?
    With an increase and decrease recoil system that could work just like the old spray mechanic , but in a more manageable (skill) way ?
    Point of reference = center of the screen .
    No visual recoil .
    Reintroduce the first shot recoil multiplayer system .
    Did we need different ADS time and strafing speed in ADS according to the weapon we use ? May be ..
    Did we need different running , jumping , walking , vaulting speed according to the weapon we use ? I don't think so , base movements need to be the same for everyone in a medium/large scale fps like Battlefield in my opinion ..

    I always challenged myself in BF3 and BF4. Using a FAMAS (after its big nerf in BF3) in Noshahr Canals and dropping 92 kills with HB, foregrip and red dot sight. Wasn’t an easy weapon to master but it was fun because it involved getting acquainted with the gun’s personality. Beaming people with different guns just too boring and linear. Spread and recoil is what separates the good and the elite. Totally agree.

    What turned me off about this game is is the gunplay and how aiming feels on controller it feels so stiff and wierd to aim with and the gunplay is way different than from the battlefields I used to play I fell in love with battlefield 4 and was really good at it but what made it different is the destructive levels and unique gunplay now every gun has no recoil and you get beamed it seems like I keep getting shot across the map when I can't see people also the lack of mnk support on console sucks the game is literally crossplay I'm going against mnk why can't I use it aiming with controller on 2042 feels like youre tryna aim while getting railed from behind while im getting killed from an smg across the map the game imo isnt bad but low recoil no mnk support bad graphics and clunky controller aim really turned me off and is while ill be sticking to bf4 and bf5 untill the next one comes out (btw i have a pc can barely run the game i3-9100 rx 580 8gb and don't feel like spending 70 bucks on a dead game when I have it free on ps5)
    Edit also no 120 hz support on next Gen consoles sucks I can play any other modern aaa game 120 hz including cod warzone why can I not run bf2042 also the graphics and destruction om console look like ass

    Okay, now counter arguments
    1. Nobody sane actually wants 2042 to feel like BF3 and BF4. Don't get me wrong, BF3 is a masterpiece, but it has so much less movement options than 2042. It's gunplay is harder, because your actual movement is slow and limited.
    2. We need recoil, spread build-up and nerf to long-range damage numbers for almost all weaponry, but entire rework of gunplay? Fuck that, I don't want to think about my spray pattern and recoil management when the entire game is more fun when you play around your mobility and movement mechanics.
    3. People who get beamed from 150m should get better, not argue for making gameplay loop worse for others
    And if some you think that I talk like that, because I abuse Assaults on a daily basis - think again, out of all Assaults I only play Dozer

    I really felt a lot of these issues moving from 4 to 2042. It just feels like a clusterfuck of people sniping you with basically any weapon from miles away with laser accuracy. I'm not exactly fantastic at BF games, but I can usually hold my own pretty well and maintain a positive K/D, moving over to 2042, I'm lucky to break even. The guns just feel completely off because your muscle memory compensates for recoil and bullet drop that just isn't there, so you end up just spraying bullets all over the place. Add on top of that the maps being basically 360 degree exposure across the board, and the whole thing just descends into a mess where you can never be in a halfway safe spot.

    I agree. Which is why I stick with the dm7 and m16. Because I play on a cheap flat-screen so I'm at a huge disadvantage on seeing enemies quickly. Plus, I live in a place where everyone shares the wifi, so i use an extender. I'm waiting to get my own internet installed next week. So I unfortunately, I rely on thermal scope. But it's x2. If I had a 1.25 thermal with a burst on the dm7. I'd feel more even with these ridiculous shots coming at me from 100-150 m away from these Super players. Even a thermal on my m16 would help me dramatically.

    I don’t get this at all. I have 2600 hours in BF4 and according to you the recoil etc is more in that game than in 2042??.
    For me 2042 feels like I’m holding the weapon in a rubberband string. The bullets are flying everywhere and it just feels random if I hit or not. (Yes I can control the recoil) Especially tracing is way worse.
    I can get 20 hit marks and the guys won’t fcking die, but if someone shoots at me I can at most take 2 hits then I’m dead. Almost instakill….
    The funny thing is that sometimes it can feel almost good for 1 map. But upcoming map it’s almost impossible to play due to “lag, spread, no hit reg etc etc.
    so my kd/r is between 1 and 10….
    I have a “monster” PC so it’s not due to hardware restrictions either.
    The recoil for me is WAY more noticeable than in BF3, BF4 and BF5. At least the visible recoil.
    This game is too frustrating for me and hearing people saying that the gunplay doesn't have any recoil, spread etc doesn’t make sense at all to me. So something must be fcked up with my setup ??

    Every weapon should be even. A bullet is a bullet. And when a bullet hits u your gone no matter what weapon you use. That's the problem with these games. When i empty a clip from short range with a AR a SMG finish me off from that distance.. And second Dice always f*cking up weapons with every update. Like the MP9 was my favorite weapon now it's useless, it's just not right.

    Battlefield never was about skill separation and yes, the engagement distances are way longer than in BF4, but this is a good thing. A AR should be usable to 300m, a SMG should be reasonable effective to 150m.
    BF2042 has way more open maps and it is intentional to push the engagement distances to more realistic distances.
    Also, crossplay with huge amounts of recoil does not work. Recoil control on consoles is way too hard.
    BF was never about high skill separation and TBH, influencers trying to push this into battlefield have been harming battlefield at least since BF4.
    Battlefield should be the game, where your average noob can hop into and by pure luck and jeep-stuff end up on top of the leaderboard.

That was one of bf4's longest standing issues until guns like the MTAR were added and the AR meta became a rof debate. Yeah, 2042's gunplay is all kinds of wonky and hitreg is still bad, but this point in particular just makes me laugh, man, sorry.

If BF4 was jam-packed with players I would totally go play that game, cause it's fun and amazing. Only playing 2042 now cause I have a year of EA Play and there's a lot of people on it.

    I feel like the spread should be higher for AR and SMG AND recoil. And I'd love to see a video about the abysmal state of useless DMRs in the game.
    I have fun wjth LMGs but the time to kill on anything but the M240 is terrible compared to other guns. It's only useful close range cause the crazy high spread and amount of shots it takes to kill compared to any AR or SMG.

    Whilst I think you are mostly wrong (it was ridiculous how short ranged AR's were in BF4, which pushed many into DMR's - one of my pet hates of BF4 & reason why I preferred BF3), I do think you make a valid point in bursting. As of current the Full Auto ranges are too far, there should be reason to tap fire & burst at those ranges where there currently isn't. I feel like this could be fixed mostly by either eliminating or massively increasing upper bound recoil deviation (as opposed to the current where after about the 4th shot you are at the most amount of recoil that gun will give) and giving the accuracy bonus that switching a gun to Single Fire gives to being the accuracy bonus of the first round fired.

    I would loooovvvee it if bullet spread increased during automatic fire - I mean, it shoooouuuld get harder and harder to control a tube setting off explosions 600 to 1200 times a minute. Real guns are effective out to long ranges... but not on full auto. If they could do something like logarithmically increase the spread of each successive bullet, that would be great. Then tune that parabola per gun or gun-class to get the right feel, which would then inherently control the effective range...

    The issue with removing range from weapons in 2042 is that its already a boring-ass running simulator a lot of the time, the distances in a lot of instances are too big. HONESTLY after the latest updates, i've reverted to my initial feel of the game; It sucks, uninstalled, and went back to BF1

    2042 copied COD and turned all the weapons into lasers. I was severely disappointed in this game at launch because of the terrible maps, removing classes, and laser weapons. I know they improved the first two things but I’m not giving 2042 another try unless they fix the gunplay to be similar to previous BF titles. The attributes of range, recoil, and spread give a weapon purpose and as you explained that’s what 2042’s gunplay is missing.
