For me the nicest surprise in the multiplayer shooter scene since Titanfall 1.
Man the maps and destruction have so much potential. If they would actually focus on making gunplay and weapons more fun and customizable, get a normaal team V team game mode with more players and fun game modes that keep the action constant. I mean the concept is unique but it’s just not as fun and addicting like games that focus on the core of what makes an fps fun. Gets borinq quick. The gameplay flow is horrible.
I get your points and as with everything the customer is always right in matters of taste. But this isn't the same genre as bf or cod or xdefiant. What i like about this game is that every game is different.
I do believe y'all been brain washed to think cod is an actually "good" game.
In my opinion the game has too much annoying cheese, the flow of combat is hard to read and I don't enjoy the game modes.
I also hate how you have to rely on just 2 other teammates it means this game is mostly fun if you are always playing with friends

I played many BF games but I like the finals better, had way more options to handle different situations. You have to use your brain more over pure aiming skill, which I really like
I don't know if this is because of the same DICE devs, but I feel *The Finals* has the same kind of problems as *2042* in some ways. It seems like they don't know what kind of game they want, so they implement both sides and make it annoying. *The Finals* looks like it's about destruction and fun, but then they tweak it to make it competitive. It looks like a team game (and you can win easily playing as a team), but most people just want to run around as light and turn every game mode into team deathmatch. It looks like a shooter, but you die to a lot of cheesy melee weapons or explosives instead, so it's actually not a shooter. Then it tries to cram in some MOBA elements, which most people don't get, and just play lights instead. Lights are also very unbalanced because they have speed, invisibility, stuns, AND the highest DPS, and the only counter is a smaller health pool. It's very weirdly set up and balanced, it's not fun to watch, and most fights are just chaotic and random. I usually play 2-3 rounds and I'm done with it.
Light is objectively the worst class in the game. That's not just my opinion, Embark said they're the most losing class across all skill levels. You have Heavies with fortification and destruction abilities, mediums with healing, revives, and mobility boosts, and lights, with mediocre teamplay abilities. The only thing they're good for is getting kills, but the higher you climb in ranked the more likely they are to be instantly deleted.
I think it desperately needs a few new game modes. Idk what they can even add, some want TDM, but I think an FFA mode would be fun.
Bank It is already the flagship TDM. Been a mode since the betas. If they being back solo Bank It, then you’ll have FFA.

@@capolean2902 Sure, it’s more like Grind from COD but it’s essentially Embark’s “take” on a TDM mode at the end of the day.
This season is a lot more fun to me and Enders, there's like 2x less cheese from the first season. I want what your smoking. The RPG use to do 175 damage Enders... the c4 with barrel combo use to take out squads without even having to try, the charge slam use to be even better and the medium wallhack ability was the most cheesy thing you could possible put in a game. The turrets had more health and hit harder, the mines use to have 30+ more damage then they do now and you can only set down one. I could type a whole paragraph about how less cheesy The Finals is now. Please let my know your dealers number that's some good sh!t you got.
They should make a BF style game now when they don't have to deal with EA's bs anymore. For those who don't know Embark Studios is basically the old DiCE.
It’s been fun coming back to but you are right. It didn’t do anything this season that blew me away. Great game still.
This game needs more casual game modes like tdm, conquest, domination, kill confirmed. I think maby rush will fit in the finals
Yes rush would be super fun. Add a couple more players, make the gunplay and customization more fun and in depth, maybe lower the TTK a bit, and you’d have something.

Hey Enders, here's what I think explains your experience with the gameplay feeling dulled down. Basically, Embark nerfed a lot of heavies shielding abilities and took away the canister nuke. Embark also nerfed the mediums by completely removing their wall hack ability (removal was healthy for the game), and they nerfed medium's healing and revive abilities slightly. Light got their stun gun and shotgun combo nerfed, as well as a handful of other random nerfs. Basically, in an attempt to balance the game, Embark is erasing a lot of the game's fun and class identity. They also refuse to give lights better teamplay and objective scoring abilities, both of which they sorely lack. HHM (Heavy Heavy Medium) comp has been META for 3 seasons and yet lights still get very little love.
I 100% agree with you on the gameplay loop, especially on the main cash out and ranked game modes. Having a game where 3rd partying is part of the design feels cheap. You could grab the be first to the cashbox, unlock it, grab it, deposit it, wait 90% of the deposit time, just to be third partied after a hard fight. There is ZERO way to build off of the advantage you had gained by being diligent and securing the cash box and depositing it. A lot of the game mode feels dissonant with actual gameplay of The Finals.

Finally someone that isn't dee riding the game and says how it feels for most people to play. It's full of cheesy stuff. The fanatics of this game love to say it's a skill issue when someone has an issue with the cheese in this game. No, it's not a skill issue, it's an "I'm not spending my time dealing with this annoying stuff" issue.

For me it was just ok. It has all the right ingredients but I get bored of it. I have come to realized that Im just probabaly not into arena shooters anymore. Same thing with Cod or xdefiant.. I get bored of it really fast. It is the repetitive gameplay loop I guess.
Maybe if they add a different mode like 10 v 10 tdm or 5v5 defuse, it would be fun because for me it's not the mechanics that's boring it's mode itself
There is 2 5v5 modes currently, one of them being S&D / defuse. Try it out!

The movement felt like titanfall from video, but actual movement is not as smooth as titanfall...
On the other hand, there is no casual mode... like you can feel the competitive in every match...
I don’t play a lot of shooters nowadays but the finals is the only one of them that isn’t horribly generic, boring or full of hackers. It’s fun for a few hours a week and that’s enough for me.
I love finals, also love CL-40 the medium grenade launcher. Give it a try you might like it ✌️
I would really enjoy if they made a chill tdm or domination game mode with more players so it wasnt a constant BR sweat fest every round

This has the most fun and most action shooter ive played maybe ever.
for me it was so sad that the devs responsible for some of my favourite games of old made another fps that just completely falls out sync with what i like in fps games. like those old games, finals looks great, sounds great, plays great etc but unlike the old games - i just cant with the game modes.

This game would be 10x better with a tdm or rush style game mode with bigger teams. Only issue is it would probably kill off the game modes that they built the game off of.

The finals is not the typical cod bf shooter, there are so many shooter type of games with melee.
Powershift is much more action packed, 5v5 and fighting over a central moving platform. But ya the main cashout mode can feel a little boring at times.
REMOVE the cheese. stun, invis, melee, explosives. This is a first person SHOOTER. make shooting great again.

Stun and Invis have been nerfed already. Invis has a 25% charge cost to use.
Then it would just become another same old boring shooter as all the hundreds of other fps games out there...
The art direction and skins are kind of a mess. Most maps look too plain and boring to look at. I just wish they went with a BF clone as their first game, this game feels so forgettable and unremarkable, and the main gamemodes are quite uneventful.
So you want to play battlefield, Delta Force, and another Battlefield clone? Just wow, the NPC sheep rating is off the charts
Without finishing the video, I think there's just too much downtime between engagements and that's what makes it boring to watch. I'll say that the biggest things that were wrong with the finals was the solo queue experience sucked and there were no other modes like hard point, domination, hell even a demolition/rush like mode I'd have taken.
