    I think the wrist flexors are the most important muscle group in armwrestling for most of people. Especially the ones who also help to lock the ellbow join.
    Brzenk once stated that they did an experiment. They tired out bizeps before training, which effected their training a little negativ. Another time they tired out the forarm flexors and the effect was suposed to be much more negativ than when they tired out the bizeps...
    I think you can't have strong enough forarm flexors. More strengh there is always better in armwrestling...

    I believe a small muscle in the upper chest that is not the main muscle that you see make up most of the size of the "Pecs" on a bodybuilder or powerlifter at the benchpress is one of the keys that powers your ability to crank your opponent over. Provided your other muscles such as biceps or those that control the angle of your wrist on your arm aren't "weakest links".
    Something that torques the main bone in your upper arm to rotate against the force of your opponent. I suppose that some ligaments or tendons in the elbow have to transmit the torque to the forearm.

  • @davidebers3046
    @davidebers3046 4 года назад +2

    You can definitely not lose your hand, just because your side pressure is stronger then your wrist flexion, You don’t have to go 100% with your arm if you wrist can’t hold it. you can open your angle which allows you to save your wrist letting you maintain your wrist on their side of the table hoping to crack their wrist before you get pinned.. think I’ll call it open angle top roll

    • @stephenmichael3211
      @stephenmichael3211 4 года назад

      What is more important the gun or the bullets? I know that it comes together for it to works but I think the bullets are more important. You can have only one gun with many bullets but you can't be so efficient if you have only one bullet but have many guns.
      If you go for hunting for example, you stockpile your bullets, not your gun.
      In arm wrestling, one will always be more important than the other depends on individuals (like coach Ray said in the video). I am a bodybuilder, my biceps is strong but my wrist and foreams are weaker. So my bullets would be my forearms. When I train only my forearms and wrists (using armwrestling's techniques), my strength increase rapidly in armwrestling matches.

    In an informal armwrestle sometimes the persons jockey to get an asymmetrical grip where the "meanest" one can squeeze the hand of the other painfully but I think in a refereed match the referee is supposed to see that the grip is fair before allowing the match to start.
    Also sometimes the contestants try to win very quickly at the beginning before the other reacts. Probably that works best for the bigger guy against the smaller guy with the monkey look rope muscled arm that seems to keep pulling hard longer without tiring.
    Usually people who are friends don't try to get a crush knuckle grip on each other or try to trick/jerk suddenly right at the start.
    I think a referee can restart a match or declare a foul for certain things like trying to knock the opponent's elbow off of the table area where it is supposed to be.

  • @gabrielbarraza6791

    I personally think both are equally important, many times have I’ve been able to take my opponents hand and not finish them. And many times I’ve had my hand taken but survived with only my bicep strength. The hand secures you having full access to all your strength, but if the opponent bicep strength surpasses both your own hand and arm strength then your done.

      lmao, that's cause having a stronger wrist effectively amplifies your arm strength. You're increasing the torque on their arm and decreasing it on yours by peeling your opponent's wrist back. So the bicep angle opens up in both cases, but for different reasons.

    • @WizardOfCheese
      @WizardOfCheese 4 года назад

      Wrist is a weakness for amateurs, pros know to target their opponents weakness. That said, you can often force someone into a hook since cup is generally stronger than pronation. I don't know any moves that neutralise bicep, it's fundamental. Denis has the world record for curling and made light work of Devon, one of the best top rollers out there. I agree both matter, but hypothetically if you could have more of one than the other I'd have to say bicep. Just my opinion.
