  • How to arm wrestling techniques shoulder press. Finally we made a video were we give very deep look inside this arm wrestling technique. Triceps press is not for beginners only advanced and seasoned armwrestlers. Here are some insight from Ray (who uses this as first move) and Janis (who use this as a finisher move).

      It's awesome to have someone who's actually studied anatomy talk about these things. A lot of armwrestlers, even the great ones, are painfully unaware of the.. *Jannis accent* Biomechranics .. You get some really weird information out of some of them occasionally. heh

      @@voiceofarmwrestling I might have an interesting question for you guys, if you ever plan to speak on the kingsmove again. Is it actually that dangerous? People always talk about how it "shows you're willing to break your arm" ... But I can't seem to find a single case.

      It's all humerus, no radius or ulna. Or maybe people who lock out their elbow are just really rare, but I've seen it around.. so it's kind of odd.

    I'm one of those few guys.
    I feel so comfortable being in the dead wrist press.
    I don't know why. But it simply feels good. It kind of feels unfair using it.
    Especially in a strap.
    It feels like a pull and a press in the same time, all directed into the thumb of my opponents.

      @Texas Made Strength Not a bit. It is kind of flexed in a fully stretched position. Just like I would do a muscle up on the hand of my opponent.

      @@provingastrology4471 Time. Patience. Get used to very high loads in training. Might take a while. Be sure that one arm could handle 50% to 75% of your bodyweight in any direction. And try to activate every single muscle, every single moment. Core and connection is exactly as important as the arm itself. This is the best way to avoid injuries. Long story short: Get fckng strong and use what you got for your own protection.

    Great talk and knowledge about the press. And definitely one of the best and fastest light weight presser got to be Talgat Aktaev, I've seen him beat some world class heavy weights with that move, it's kinda crazy. And I do agree that the move is for more advance pullers only, beginners that try it may very well get their arms broken.

    I feel like in situations where my golfer's elbow (another great vid btw) is acting up and side-pressure is too painful, I can flip into a press and generate downward pressure without pain. Just a little thing that works for me sometimes.

      You should work on your medial epiconliytis if you feel pain with cupped wrist but not with flop, strengthen that tendon hard!

      @@voiceofarmwrestling You should make a Video on that topic alone, thousands of ppl suffer bc of this this particular problem in the same period of the project 'becoming an armwrestler', I honestly believe. I had it, I strengthened the area with heavy, band suspended loads, it worked very well. Make a Video, so many ppl would be thankful. I would do it. But you guys have the opportunity to reach millions.

      @@EyeDriveATruck Basically find the exact spot of the whole curve where it actually hurts the most and use elastic Band suspended loads of about 50-60% in the beginning and just use a very short range of motion, only pulses. Just progress from there until you reach your previously highest PR but with those Bands.
      You can massage, vibrate and stretch that fucker as much as you want.... the whole tissues right in the elbow must 'break and tear', heal again and adapt, finally. Takes a few months to change all the tissue and cells. But it works wonders. Also, just throw in one week of rest before you start this period.

    I only bench press supersetted with barbell row. It's quick and balanced. Inevitably leads to injury.

    I flop wrist press left hand because my finger strength is much more then my wrist strength and it makes it almost impossible for opponent to to take your pronation, unless they let you take some their pronation which will make it easier for them to take your pronation then take back their pronation, it won me the Manitoba provincial masters left hand 80KG title!

      But that being said I am a stronger puller then pusher, and like to use the press to finish when they stop my toproll near the pin!

      Sure, I looked on the internet for cupping videos and can't find any explaining why to cup, positions, purpose, keeping space in the cup, ect. I can only find videos on training the cup. I'd love to see a good video explaining it. Thank you!

    So I did pushups with a 20lb vest and my strongest move it seemed was wrist hook and pull inward towards my chest, but isn't that more of bicep than chest

    You are talking about shoulder press (with supination).. But my oponent uses shoulder press with pronation..
    Is there any solution for this situation

    My hook suck so bad i dont why i just cant figure it. My bicep is strong in the gym but on table a feel like a child.

      Same with me when I first started too. I've learned that if your rotator is weak, your bicep will feel very weak in armwrestling. When you attacking or defending, if you lack rotation(also known as pronation), you'll get oversupinated(palm completely face up) and feel like you have no power. So start training that rotation, soon you'll feel much stronger on the table. Hope that helps a little.

    Shoulder press techniques no need to has power on bench press its different you need strong Shoulder and tricpes the tricpes and wrist are both the main response to pin your competitors

    How activated are your triceps in this move though ? Seems to me because the angle between shoulder and hand basically stays the same, you're using more your whole upper body to move your opponents hand downward.

      You are pressing you arm down, thats how you activate it

      @@voiceofarmwrestling but you're not really moving your forearm away from your shoulder.the angle at your elbow doesn't open. There is a point where your bicep is stopping your forearm from getting close to your shoulder.

    How you defend when you are a presser? I am a presser myself. And i am very comfortable with that technique. Then, how am i gonna defend if im facing a strong toproller etc?

      I started encountering this problem as a strong presser as well. I found that you have to be able to outlast your opponent. You're basically sitting on top of your arm and they're trying to bicep curl your entire frame. It's a lot easier to out-endure someone if you can manage to get on top of them

      Basically the goal of an inside press is to throw your frame at your opponent. A toproll counters it (from my understanding) because it's hard to press someone to a pin if they keep their wrist away. Which is why flop wrist pressing is its own category.

    I've done wrestling and BJJ for 10 years weight training for 15. i've been training arm wrestling specific for a year now. I get some minor clavicle pain. im 82KG and train with a guy thats 128KG. I feel my tendons are OK. Or should I still be getting stronger before I go to press?

    The problem with armwrestling is that you'll never get a beautiful ripped abs that every girls want! Arm is over training but abs is forgotten that's why I rather focus more on abs.

    I don't really like the King's move and triceps press. Just stick with the hook or toprol. Those are real battles. Peace v
