That’s why great toprollers need huge backpressure ,
to open that tight angle a tiny little bit
    and make things easier.

@NAGATO UZUMAKI side pressure and back pressure. Side pressure is probably more important overall in a hook, but back pressure is still great for a hook puller to have. And you also need a strong hand and wrist for both toprolling and hooking.

Great technical pointers guys! One thing i found is strap pulling is advantage for stronger wrist, pronation, supination imo, except not so dependent on fingers...i can hook easier out of the strap, but i like Ray's comment about supinating into hook in the strap; yes i forget about this and then cannot hook in the strap against a strong toproller

Does the length of your arm depends on which of the all techiques is best to you? For example, in my case, I have very long arms, and I'm better in armwrestling when I use toproll technique, but very bad when I use hook technique. I can do a lot of pull ups (wide grip, close grip, neutral grip), I can hold a lot of time isometric pull up hold, and in basically my pulling strength is great, and my forearms are huge and long . Can pulling exercise like pull ups, rows, biceps curls (half and full rom) be benefitial more on toproll techinque than on hook techique, because I think that you need to mostly strenghten and train your wrists for hook technique if i don't wrong? And, this informations from your videos are very useful and thanks a lot guys!!! :)

Janis, love your work. As a physio, what do you think about the scapular elevation that a lot of fighters get into when pulling really hard? Is it just something that humans default to or is there a better position that would lock in the shoulder better? Personally, I feel pretty locked in when I try for hard scap depression and allow for protraction with my scapula lower. Opinion?
