I kid you not when the woman who lost her rights to me and my sibling for abusing us when we were little, setting it up so horrible things would be done to us just to try to set my dad up, sent us back into foster care to be abused more, married one of the other abusers AND defended another while shamelessly, remorselessly punishing my sibling for literally saving our lives died.. I posted my thoughts on the world being a better place and how glad I was she was gone. I spelled out what a horrible person she actually was. The response was surprisingly positive, except for one lone person who disagreed and couldn't sit back with their mouths shut like everyone else. Her aunt.

I told her if she wants to regain contact with me to just not mention that birther and her brother to me anymore. That I went through all that too and I didn't allow those things or do those things to my daughter. I don't believe in those excuses. You make the choices or you don't. That simple.

I have a family member like this... Its hard to help them get/do better when all they want to do is blame everything and everyone else for everything bad that happens to them.

I just cut contact with one this month. It was painful, I didn't know if it was me or them. They threatened suicide a few times whenever we would call them out on it. Eventually I did cut it off, and thought that they would off themselves like how they threatened to but nope. Thank you for uploading this topic, I didn't know professional victims were a thing until now.

You make a great point, Jake. Not being able to even admit that sometimes as people we behave like d i c k s is a red flag. Everyone has behavior that is unsavory, unkind, and self-centered to some degree. Not even being able to recognize it, speaks volumes about a person's relationship with their own personality.😮💨

Have a professional victim in my house. My stepdad’s son and he’s driving all of us insane with his drug abuse and incompetence despite his claims of being the smartest person in the room
My father told me I couldn't be mad about anything he may of done and upset about in the past, because it's in the past. It shouldn't bother me and I need to let it go. (how do you let things go with people when they can't take any accountability) He let go of what his father did to him and doesn't care about it anymore so I need to do the same. Oh yeah and he's not going to change so I need the get over it and anything I've been through he's been through worse so I can't be mad at him. And 100% of the issues in his life was always someone else fault even though he's been physically caught misbehaving doing things that got him in the trouble. Also apparently I'm not remembering right and lying about everything.

I have a variant if this, where I avoid situations where I would be held accountable if I messed up. However I feel a moral obligation to admit when I do something wrong, so it can be stressful both avoiding and inevitably messing things up
you just described my grandma, bw she doesnt live with us anymore, apparently she was too good to be among people that are sooo heartless🙃 so now she lives alone stil as unhappy as used to be🙃 good riddance, I felt so much better after she moved, nightmares of her returning were hunting me for a breef time and then I felt hapiness for the first time in years being able to comunicate with my family without dramma and shouting, that was the best gift I ever recived from my grandma😁
My mother was a professional victim. It was hell growing up with that. In old age she is nowhere nearly as bad and like the sucker I am, I care for her, take her to appts, get her groceries. She wonders why my sisters rarely ever bother with her. Gee I wonder why 🤔🙄

Sometimes I think I am a professional victim not in a why are bad things happening to me but in a fuck! I know better why did I repeat the same mistake. Then I realized somethings are more complicated than how they first appeared. And what you need to learn is a much deeper problem than just the consequences of the actions.

OMFG, I hope my ex sees this because everything you mentioned is exactly how it happened when our relationship ended.
He dumped me and blamed me for all his fucking problems, when all I wanted to do was move on. I even bought him his favorite dinner to have before the discussion. But he didn't want to talk about it, and asked to talk about it later, then instead left to play games with his friends. The he dumped through his friend who did all the fighting (and talking) for him.
Yet, my ex took absolutely no accountability for having any involvement in the relationship (after 3 fucking years with him) and even said it wasn't a real relationship for him. That the romance died along time ago for him apparently.
Then he turned all my friends against me who only took his side, due to his friend ostracizing me without letting me be heard of my side of the story.
My ex never even has the guts to speak up for himself, and instead used his friend to break with me for him, like a fucking coward.
Pathetic how this shit happen, and how they actually do get away with it. Then continue to do it. It's their use of manipulating sympathy from people who only listen to the professional victim, use their victim excuse to continue to get away with shit. Because if a dishonest victim can do it once, they become a professional victim as they will use that excuse every single time. If it worked in the past, they keep doing it. It's a pathetic and cowardly thing to do.

I should also mention, 3 weeks after my ex dumped me through his friend, instead telling me himself. When he found out I was in a new and happier relationship. He threatened me to come back because he missed me and didn't know what to do when his friendswere fighting for him. While his friend acted like nothing happened, and tried guilt-tripping me to come back for him (that apparently I was the one who over-reacted). When I couldn't even have the conversation with him to move on and break up calmly and respectfully.
They were trying to make me look like I was the reason the relationship failed. Then got mad at me again, for not leaving my new relationship.
Bruh if it ever gets to that point in a friendship or a relationship it’s obvious you gotta leave them in the past lol. I wouldn’t have the time or emotional energy to tolerate such childish behaviour
Same goes for the ones who wanna believe the clown on the floor. Ditch em, let them think whatever. As they say: your story eventually will get out, and, “if they didn’t want others to know they shouldn’t have done it”
