I had the pleasure of working with Steve many times in my short career in Korea. He was just as kind and genuine in person as he was on TV. Although I understand the outrage, I personally don’t feel banning him for this long was necessary. I agree that he needed to have some form of punishment and be held accountable but I feel this length of time was excessive.

I totally agree. I don't think he should have been banned at all. He technically did nothing wrong. He caught his citizenship legally. The only people that are mad are the brainwashed Koreans that have a hive mind. It's Korean culture to not have your own opinion and just go with the crowd. 99% of all foreigners, when they hear this story think that YSJ did nothing wrong. They're right.

Mr. King clearly has issues. He's been in the U.S. Army for 2 1/2 years and he's a Private Second Class. That speaks volumes. As an American, I feel Mr. King needs a lesson in what Freedom truly means. Mr. King has chosen his path in life. I think North Korea will teach him well.

He should make a lawsuit against the ruling for the loss he could have made if he stayed in Korea as an entertainer, the amount of monetary compensation he had made while he stayed in ROK for he was scouted by the entertainment agency, and the psychological damage he had suffered for banning him to get the visa. Make an action and don't apologize!

I truly understand all the men in South Korea, including myself, too. Since avoiding military service has been a very sensitive problem, steve yoo has become an exemption from this problem. Although his age now is 38, I hope that he sincerely does his military service and apologizes for the fans and all the men who have been doing military service for 2 years.

Why though? He is no longer a citizen and doesn't have any of the benefits of being a citizen. He even has to apply for visa to travel. Why should he serve a country he is not a citizen of?

Of course, I know he is American and doesn't have to enlist military service. However, what I really want to say is that he should have a conscience that feels how hard military services it is. That's my opinion.

I agree with you, but it should start with the Korean government shortening the length of the mandatory military service: 2 years taken from young men’s lives is too much. It gets in the way of their studies and professional careers. Also, the law should be the same for everyone, meaning, idols and celebrities should not be exempted from service.

Just let him in. It’s time to forgive him. The past is called past for a reason. And grudges should stay in the past He made a mistake. We all make mistakes. Nothing good from keeping grudges. Take it from me. I’m talking from my own experience. .

I think you are just jealous of ysj's success. And also, you are part of the Korean hive mind. You are like a worker bee that just follows blindly what the media tells you to believe. I think it's Korean culture. They want to be this kind of copy and paste mentality. There isn't really any unique opinions that people have. Ysj did nothing wrong.

Why are you so angry with him!? Many celebrities in my country are treated differently, I feel bad for people who is trying to put their shoes to someone else. He is goal achiever not just commoner who is living by standards of regular human being.

Not really. Lots of Koreans like me want him back in. Most Koreans though, they have a hive mind and just go along with the crowd and think what everyone else thinks. How easy is it for a South Korean to surrender their citizenship amd become a Naturalized US citizen? I’m confused how he could’ve just changed his citizenship so easily….

well if it was processed outside of South Korea, plus his family reside in US at the time, that's how he probably did it, otherwise if processing happened within SK, they would not allow it
