- Day three in Georgia and I'm paying a visit to a place called Locomex in Carrollton, where they serve the forebodingly named ATOMICO BURRITO CHALLENGE!
Challengers get thirty minutes to finish what is allegedly a 6lb burrito, stuffed full of rice, pulled beef, steak, chicken, beans, vegetables...pretty much anything you would normally find in a burrito; it's in here...
Only one person has accomplished the feat so far, but if you can manage it; you get the $29.99 meal for FREE and a winner's t-shirt...at least, you're supposed to...

A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos available on my channel.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

I'm tired of the crooked restaurants that add 3 or 4 pounds to the advertised challenge and then when you complete it they don't have any shirts!! Unconscionable! You did great Mr Beard!
They most likely had some shirts in the back or never had them to begin with.

That was really unfair. It says right on the board that this was a six pound challenge and that was clearly much more than that! Then to tell you they had no t-shirts after you were done! That chef was clearly against you from the start. Super proud of you for finishing it anyway, despite his attempts to derail you. Way to go!!!!

I would imagine in general its really hard to standardize when making something you probably do like once a month. Im sure they just add as much meat as they can. They probably did juice this dudes burrito though because they didn't want to have the house pay for the food.

The way the cook looked over when you were half way says a lot about his honesty
You need to video a weigh-in on the food when they SPECIFICALLY have a measurement on THEIR menu! KEEP CRUSHING IT!!!!!

Why are some of the restaurants and chefs so against Beard coming in and beating the challenge? Sure it's a free meal given away, but it's incredible online publicity and he always makes it fun for the staff and anyone watching??

I'm outraged on your behalf, Beard! How could they be "out" of T-shirts. It's not like they've had frequent winners! They couldn't even give you a staff uniform (shirt)?!? That looked way over the "6 pound" burrito the menu said it was going to be. I think the chef might have added a little bit extra of everything when he found out who you were. Regardless, you still killed it! Well done!

False advertising seems to follow you. Is it due to you being a professional? Or just they want to bust your chops,knowing your background? I think the locals should shame them and boycott for 2 months to show their support

I agree with you 100%. This a small town quiet joint, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It probably gets ordered 3 times a year at most and that’s for catering lol. Call it Southern “bliss” but that thing is definitely getting eyeballed when it’s put together because the cook told me he never had someone actually order it as a challenge before Beard!

He did it and that was great. At the same time, it is disappointing when places cheat and don't deliver what is promised. Some people have no honor and it makes people not want to support the restaurant because they are shady. Usually this kind of video would help a restaurant when they are above board. This does not help this place.

I don't understand that either. Have they ever heard of being a good sport? If they truly where out of stock, which everyone doubts because you order those in bulk, then they should offer to send one to him when they get it back in stock. They probably figured no one would ever beat the challenge and so never ordered any shirts.

@@jaklg7905 we never have people attempt the challenge let alone come in and record, it was a nervous situation, we also talked to him off camera , also we have been out of shirts since i started working there a year ago, the only reason i have a tshirt is bc an old server gave it to me, i also told him before hand we probably didnt have any that id have to contact my boss

As someone who literally weighs food for a living because I’m a butcher and fishmonger, and as someone who can eyeball weight extremely accurately and consistently, I am telling you that this burrito was easily about 9 lbs. For context that burrito is about the size of three 3lb Atlantic Salmon Fish fillets, and about the size an entire uncut 9lb Brisket.
I like the fact, that when in the video he is describing the rules the food is nearly gone! Well done.

6 pounds is "only" 2.7kg. You can tell just by how they held the tray it was much heavier than that. Probably more like 5-6 kgs. But even when they cheat you proved you're still the king of the food challenges. Well done.

This man is over here downing massive calories in an intense race against the clock and the rest of the restaurant is just chillin like he's any other patron sipping on a coffee lmao. Shame they didn't have a celebration or even a t-shirt for you finishing that under 30, especially if it's true that it hasn't been done in 5 years.
yea was kinda weird atmosphere in that restaurant
the chef was clearly being vindictive if you watch his body language. his face at about 14 minutes says it all, he looks over when the watcher says beard has 16 minutes left hoping hed lose then looks disappointed. The waitress asked if beard was okay cause i guarantee the chef was joking with the staff about it. that burrito was probably 2x or more the claimed 6 pounds
I was like "wait I've seen that square before...." IM FROM THERE! No idea there was a good challenge in Carrollton!! I've also been there that place is really good!! Everywhere on the square is amazing. I used to go there all the time, and eat and then walk the square with my best friend. Glad you had fun there!

Beard, I've been watching your videos since the start, and I know you can put away 6lbs easy. There is NO WAY that burrito was 6lbs...how much do you honestly think it was? I'm guessing around 8 or 9lbs.
hard to say mate since it's been a while since I did something massive, but it felt like 9 minimum...like if you compare it to the ex wife which was like 6lb...this felt almost literally twice as hard

I love this guy. Such a nice fun guy. The eternal optimist. It proves that anything you BELIEVE you can do the body will accommodate. THAT is how powerful the mind is. I write about this in my coming book.
I been binge watching your channel, really entertaining, extremely impressive. I always hope for you to order diet coke and mayo before the start and for you to wait for the food to cool down ;) Anyway, such a difference between the previous video "John Henry Burger Challenge" and this Locomex challenge. Staff sometimes have no grasp of this being tremendous free advertising. If you offer a challenge, be fair about it, or just don't offer it. The staff at the John Henry Burger Challenge was friendly, supportive, got everyone to give you a round of applause, memorable experience, also for the viewer. I would want to go to that restaurant when in the area. In contrast, I will have forgotten about this place by tomorrow.
