Good video. I just replaced mine with LED festoon style bulbs from a kit for my XC90. There are 3 tabs at the bottom, two on the sides and the top has 2 plastic half hinges that slot into the outer frame. I used two thin screw drivers to pry each clip starting from the bottom and then the sides gently and then pull down and towards you. I did both mirrors in cold weather and no mirrors broke. Remember a very thin pry tool or screwdriver.
I tried this, now i have 2 broken mirrors. An easy fix was to order plexiglass mirrors the exact same size and stick them with silicone over the old broken ones. But thanks for the video. People beware!
Um, from an electrical engineering perspective, wouldn't it be wise to solder a resistor in series? You're running 5.5 VDC, and without something to limit the current your LEDs could have a pretty short lifespan. True, it's only open for a short period of time, but it's a best practice sort of thing. Also, if they draw too much current, it could take out a fuse upstream.
You can not see that in this video, but this LED is on a small circuit board with current limiting resistor and voltage regulator with small capacitor on the bottom side.
I did it .. yeey. But my mirrors are cracked now ... i suspect this should've been done during summer so the plastic is not so stiff and maybe with a tool that fits both those holes, so you can pry it more uniformly. So proceed with caution everybody!

to jest z przed liftu, 2002-2006, 2007 i wyzej jest szersze miejsce na lampki i tylko 2 lampeczki malenzamiast w5w. w 2008 ten sam wymiar lusterka, tylko plastiki sa inne i inaczej sie zdejmuje klapke, nie ma mozliwosci polamac lusterka w nowszej poprawionej wersji.
can anyone tell me what I must do to change the number 5 fuse under the hood of my s40 Volvo please? I don't have the tool to get it done but I think you can push or pull on the black spaces on the side of the yellow box holding the fuses so please let me know what to do cause I don't have any inside lights or radio
That's not exactly a guide on how to replace the lights in the mirror housing. You might have included pictures of the bulbs themselves, but yours does not mirror what's done here, only a small portion of it, which was not reflected in your comment. Any pun included may be intentional.

The LEDs keep blowing a fuse. Any thoughts/ideas?mine is a 2012 T6 if it helps. Uses the VERY small LEDs ot in this video.

Where did you get those LED lights? The color temperature looks spot on!
I got them as a part of set with industrial-grade buttons. I can't find them separately and my stash is slowly shrinking... :(
