Likely saved me thousands by doing this quick fix, thank you! My 2005 Volvo t5 v50 AWD suddenly started having multiple electrical problems: wipers stuck on, no turn signals, loss of window function, loss of lock function, alarm set off while opening hood, and gas guage failure. I found corrosion at the same spot that was in the video but his looked more severe. Cleaned with no contact cleaner safe for plastic, nylon brush, blew it out like a Nintendo cartridge and presto! This is awesome video. I had 15 volvo specific codes on my 2006 S40 after having recent acceleration problems. Last two years, I was getting intermittent "engine system service urgent" message. It was on most of the time in last few days. I cleaned as shown in the video along with reinserting all the fuses plus cleaned grounds on the passenger side of engine compartment and down by the passenger door. I put it together, message was gone. I still had the codes and cleared them using an ES610 scanner. I took it for a drive and the old acceleration was back. Hi, is the votlage drop an indicator of CEM failures? Im getting multiple errors on my v50 and had it at mechanics 3 times now without anyone fixing it. Once after I stopped the car after getting the errros it did not start again as something was draining the battery.

After removing the CEM, I could not see any evidence of either corrosion or dirt. It all looked very clean. Nonetheless, I sprayed each connector, male & female and cleaned with brushes. Happy to help! It is common for the soldered joints to break on electronics on some vehicles. I don't believe I've heard anything specific for Volvo. You can pull apart the module, the plastic case is a little trick but it can be done. Just take lots of pictures so you know where all the fuses go. I have an 06 Dodge Ram now, thinking it was simpler, it still have it's own electrical gremlins too. Next vehicle will be older at this point, can't stand the new stuff.
Really glad that I found your do-it-yourself video for module issues. I had an interlock device installed 3 years ago 4 years ago actually and I have had issues after it was installed and coincidentally my sunroof had to be fixed due to the tubes in it leaking onto the floor causing pretty significant water accumulation. So I'm not sure if those two circumstances affected the module or if one particular issue was the culprit. What occurs when I drive my car especially when it engages into turbo I will receive a notification on my dash that says anti-skid service required and then my car will go into safety mode taking it out of drive gear and if I drive it for a while it will suddenly pop abruptly into drive and if I didn't continue driving it and needed to stop and put it in park before it has a chance to pop back into gear it will go into immobilization mode locking my key thus leaving my battery on. So one mechanic told me to disconnect what appears to be some type of module in the engine that's wiping out the memory of the cars notification system I guess giving it temporary amnesia wiping out that memory that has a issue and then I'm able to restart it get my key out etc. Volvo dealership had it for a month and said they're getting a miscommunication error but they can't figure out out of the three modules where it's originating from because it doesn't misbehave when it's on the diagnostic itself. So I've been driving it like this for 2 years minimally. I've been using my deceased sisters Passat and it's alternator just went to put on me so I'm back to the Volvo drill that I have to endure randomly it only happens 5-7times a month when driven regularly. And as it is a 2004 S40 I am a single mom and a budget and I can't even fathom spending the money Volvo wants to charge me for a brand new ECM/ECU Module and a reprogramming fee wiping out my nest egg $$ for a car that has a Kelly Blue book value if $2,400.00. So with that said, I'm going to try doing exactly what you so beautifully demonstrated with the best clarity I have seen on any do it yourself tutorial that is available . Thanking you in advance for taking the time to video the process and making it so easy to understand for a person who is somewhat mechanical at least I think I'm really good mechanically but not a professional auto mechanic. Single moms have to do what they have to do and stretch a dollar pretty far. Thank you again I'll let you know if it works!!

'08 S40 T5 w/142K here. Recently purchased. Check engine light comes on, 1st time it was "erratic ignition," misfire on cyl's 3 and 5. Later came back on and it was cyl 4 misfire. Changed all plugs with new NGK's. Then changed all 5 coil's as suggested. Neither made a difference. Starting cold the engine fast idles with misfires. Goes on fast idle perfectly then drops down to preset idle. Only seems to misfire at stop signs, traffic lights, anywhere I have to actually stop. But upon acceleration the car does fine, lots of power thanks to the turbo. But the low level putt, putt, putt at a stop is annoying. I dropped the CEM under the glovebox and pulled all the plugs and cleaned with an electric spray cleaner. The best news is I didn't make anything worse!! Gotta take those wins when you can. But the low level misfire remains. Just wanted to share this with anyone who may be having similar issues, Good luck to all and a blessed new year.
As I have a UK spec V50, a right hand drive. car so the CEM is at the left hand/ passenger side of the car. To replace the pollen filter in need to remove parts of the CEM to gain access and it's murder to get this out. I did remove a few clips with the battery 🔋 disconnected so that wasnt a problem really. but putting it all togheteher again I noted the odometer and the clock display no longer stays on after the ignitions is switched off. They stayed on for about 5 minutes after the car was locked before replacing the pollen filter. Your video gives me the confidence to try to see if there is a problem with the connectors. So thank you for a thorough and very helpfull video. :-)
Yeah so my right side lowbeam light seems to have an issue. This may be the answer. I’ve replaced the bulb, bought several actually, and no dice. Hope I don’t mess this up. Thanks for your awesome videos, I’ve got a 2007 Volvo s40 and your videos rock!
I think this is exactly what I need to do.2005 s40t5 throwing all kinds of messages, immobilizer, reduced engine, brake failure, etc.I'll give it a try.I did have a plugged ac drain a couple of weeks ago but didn't find water at this location.Only passenger rear and some in the lower right central coloumn.
I appreciate the amount of work you put on explanations from this video. If you don't mind, can you add what kind of electronic terminal protectant did you use? Can you provide a link, please?
Im having a CEM problem right now..have 4 codes for the accelerator pedal sensor so after i tried 2 junkyard pedals, i had to take it to the stealership..they just gave me a quote to replace the CEM for $2800..even though its a V50 AWD M66..i was debating scrapping the car..until this video gave me an option, thank you!
I had the same problem..it is definitely the cem..just get contact cleaner and clean the shit out off the harness pins and cem pins..thats what i did and it worked
Thanks for the video! When I took mine out I found corrosion on the blades on all of the fuses except one. I cleaned them all with 200 grit sandpaper. I opened the plastic case by holding open each clip with a half toothpick. There was no corrosion on the CEM itself. Since the problem is intermittent, I won't know for sure if this is the real fix for a few weeks, but I'm really hopeful.
Great tutorial, I've had an issue recently where my horn was stuck on, I removed the wires connecting the horn, I'm now worried that the alarm will have an issue, do you know where the fuse is located on a 2010 V50 for the alarm siren as I just want to eliminate the possibility of more noise for the neighbours at 5am
I bought a used S40 that is 16 years old. The car was mechanically in great shape but had one electrical problem after another. Brake failure light, immobilizer light, fuel rail code, accelerator pedal code, engine system urgent, p1070, p0240, etc etc I took out the cem, and cleaned it. It didn't look dirty, at least not the connections, but there was dust all around the Box. After cleaning up and putting it back together all codes disappeared even the check engine light is off. These should probably be cleaned every few years. Had I taking it to a dealership, they will have certainly try to sell me a new one. Those uncomfortable working on these cars should not buy one. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty little bit that's worth it
Great video and reading about symptoms I may have few, one of them is problems with the start, sometimes just don't start...wait a moment, or few hours or a day...and it just start. A questions please, if I change or replace the whole CEM does it need to be reprogram or just replace with no programing. Thanks so much for the video
I’m having trouble with 2005 s40. The emergency flashers and high beams flicker. Not too long ago had a leak in the coolant basin and repaired. Thinking coolant may have corroded the CEM. Will try this as a fix.
We took the CEM out of our 2009 s40 that started great but had crazy electrical issues. It didn't look dirty but cleaned it to see if that would resolve our issues. After reconnecting the CEM the car will not start at all! Can you oro some guidance as to what we should try next?
@@4DIYers thank you for your reply. my mechanic confirmed on my 2007 volvo s40 ABS module has something wrong. we have tested the sensors, wires and harness. all good. the code error is 0030 rear left wheel sensor. it is replaced and tested but the ABS light on intermittently. I was thinking it could be a blown fuse. not sure
Wish me.luck please. My 05 xcv70 began a malfunction streak a little while ago. This video seems to offer some hope for some of the issues perhaps. The speedometer was the first thing which seemed in this category but other things may be related like the brake warning failure stop safely message. The odometer is not working now as well. The first thing I noticed is the lurching right after starting and getting underway. The traction light flashes when the lurching is felt as though the back wheels are dragging or something like that but this goes away shortly. It acts up in slippery situations briefly too. Almost always right after turning out of the driveway while getting underway though. The speedometer always fluctuates now at first after start up and does not show actual speed but the tachometer is fine. After a little while the speedometer does start to display accurately but now at exactly the same time the stop safely brake failure message displays now too. The brake message does not come on when the car is shut of and started again. It is like everything resets but the pattern is the same. No speedo, anti skid message flash, / then speedo works and brake message comes on. But now the odometer is just off line or very intermitant. It has not advanced for a few days. The trip meter is not working at all and the instantaneous MPG display says zero most of the time but comes on intermitantly too. Also the average mpg display is horribly down to 10-11 mpg half the previous normal. Actual mpg is hard to figure out now. It does seem like it is getting the crappiest mileage now though. Engine seems ok though.
@@latking yes Mike. I replaced the relay and the headlight now works. Fortunately, I had a neighbour who desoldered the faulty relay for me and soldered the new one. I wasn’t too confident with doing the soldering.

Repeated this for half dozen times and just went to normal. Three days later same thing. Transmission otherwise works flawlessl. Would you think it has potentialy ECM issues Thank you Would you think
I lost my AM radio, I wonder if this is my issue? I had water leak in cabin from clogged drains. The drains have been cleared. Do you think this may be my problem?
Volvo 2005 S40i - after heater core leak - dried out restarted fine - removed CEM and cleaned thoroughly With electronic spray cleaner - remnants of antifreeze and corrosion - cleaned fuse blades coated with die electric grease. All tested OK. Replaced back in car after heater core repair. Now, I have a no start, no crank, no dashboard lights. The Key is stuck in the ignition, will move to positiion 1 and 2 with no lights. Cannot start car or remove key. The overhead lights work, brake vacuum assist and fuel pump regulator on engine come on. I must remove negative battery cable to disengage. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for video I think I need to do this as getting a lot of different problems lighting up , then nothing for ages then it will do it again . Also when I push button for rear heated window and front window I get interference on my radio will this be something to do with the ecm to . Mine is the v50 1.6 drive diesel
Hi Ive just found your video. Sometimes when I get out the car and lock it there is a buzzing noise coming from the front passenger area of the car..stops after 15 seconds or so and I put petrol in the car went to pay for for it came back car opened but no ignition lights car was dead for about 30 seconds or so. Do I have this problem in the early stages? Thanks for any replies in advance 😊

I did exactly that and now I don't have turn signals, high beam, AC and fan (no outside air temperature reading). Probably more issues as well. I replugged the connectors many times without anything changing. I don't understand where did I mess up, but the car had intermittent reboots on modules such as radio, airbags etc. This is why I tried it anyway. Now off it goes to an electrician..
My 2005 s40 CEM seems to be bad after moisture from a leaking heater core caused it to malfunction or corrode. As of right now i am having major issues with my windshield wipper switch not responding, and the wipers will randomly turn on at the fastest speed and wont turn off until the battery is disconnected. do you think a cleaning like shown in the video can alleviate this issue or am I sol?
Here is a problem with my car...what are your thoughts on thins? Vehicle: 2000 VOLVO V70SE WAGON - Error Code: P1672 Engine control module ECM 5 volt output low Symptoms: All gauges go out...occasionally the engine stalls too...it can take a couple minutes turned off before it resets & starts again. Sometimes the transmission acts like it is slipping badly for about 10-15 seconds after the reset but then it works fine.
No, it is a different kind of grease that is electrically conductive, unlike dielectric grease which impedes electrical connections because it’s an insulator. You can often find electrically conductive grease sold for model trains (where it’s applied to the connector between the train and the track).

This might save my in-laws from ongoing expense. A C30 where wipers come on randomly and indicators intermittently won't work. My sister has a similar model of car and the CEM is flaky too. Just a terrible design fault I think.
I’m tackling this one over the weekend, for my ‘06 S40. I have an intermittent problem with driver door controls not working, as well as all of the alarms coming on at once. (It acts as if the main power connection to this CEM is being flaky, causing a restart/initialization)
Great video. Do you or does anyone here believe it may be possible that something needing cleaning on the CEM could be tied to a portion of the DIM's led lights not working? Open to thoughts/suggestions. Thanks again for the video; it's like confidence in a mouse click!
You’re welcome! Common problem on these cars. You may have an electrical issue, other than that these headlights are just bad performance from factory. Try aiming them first, then clean the headlights (I have a video for this). You’ve already upgraded the bulbs so that step has been covered.
No. Dielectric grease does not conduct electricity, so putting it on the contacts will impede the electrical connection. You need a grease that is conductive.
@@ecobright8439 Not yet. I have eliminated over 14 different causes. A mechanic online sent me a schematic of the connector to my DEM (all codes point to my DEM), and what each of the seven terminals inside of that connector go to, Plus the voltage expectation for each terminal. He seems to think that one of those terminals won’t be registering voltage as high or at all. Each of these terminals goes to a specific function in or out of my haldex differential. HELP folks! Trying to diagnose the issue as local garage can’t look at it for over a month 🤦 Dashboard warning appeared saying “break system failure pull over safely” along with the traction control and ABS lights on, and Speedo not working. Breaks worked fine however but once pulled over and switched off the car won’t start as immobiliser is active. In my experience many things Volvo and the entire internet swears needs to be reprogrammed really dont. and will work fine swapping with any other used one so long as the model numbers are the same Not with ignitions though

And as it is a 2004 S40 I am a single mom and a budget and I can't even fathom spending the money Volvo wants to charge me for a brand new ECM/ECU Module and a reprogramming fee wiping out my nest egg $$
for a car that has a Kelly Blue book value if $2,400.00.
Brilliant video, worked for me and I know nothing about car maintenance.
Thank you so much!
Awesome tutorial video! Concise, brief and on point! Your channel is the only channel i receive notifications as new ones upload. Keep them coming. Mad respect! Ty.
Thank you so much for the support and kind words :) Comments like yours really makes my hard work worth it! Hard to believe I've had my channel for about 10yrs.
Fantastic tutorial. Clearly you know your staff.
Thank you and it's just me, no staff.
No problem, always happy to help! Trying to remember back on my Volvo, I believe mine turned off almost immediately after I removed the key.
I know it was 3 years ago, but did it work? I have the same issue 😂 lowbeam right side is not working for me
you are the man. i've watched so many of your vids and i'm so grateful you bought my car before me. haha, cheers brother
I am having the same issue right now so this is what im trying.
Did it fix your issues?
I had the same problem..it is definitely the cem..just get contact cleaner and clean the shit out off the harness pins and cem pins..thats what i did and it worked
Excellent delivery detail and pace.
Thank you!
You're welcome! Hopefully that solved it, depending on the severity of corrosion, it can cause intermediate issues.
If you don't mind getting your hands dirty little bit that's worth it
Just wanted to say thank you for this awesome vid! Fixed my issue with my Volvo 👍
Out of the 2 relays, do you know which is the fuel pump relay? The large one at the bottom or the smaller one at the top?
This is an excellent video. My fabric cover has become worn and flimsy. Is there a part number for it that I can order.
Thank you
Tha you for your clear verbal communication.
Great video and reading about symptoms I may have few, one of them is problems with the start, sometimes just don't start...wait a moment, or few hours or a day...and it just start. A questions please, if I change or replace the whole CEM does it need to be reprogram or just replace with no programing. Thanks so much for the video
You’re very welcome! Unfortunately a replacement cem will need to be programmed to your car.
I’m having trouble with 2005 s40. The emergency flashers and high beams flicker. Not too long ago had a leak in the coolant basin and repaired. Thinking coolant may have corroded the CEM. Will try this as a fix.
Constant issue in mine, failed today after 6 months of being okay. Fingers crossed it works like last time
We took the CEM out of our 2009 s40 that started great but had crazy electrical issues. It didn't look dirty but cleaned it to see if that would resolve our issues. After reconnecting the CEM the car will not start at all! Can you oro some guidance as to what we should try next?
have a question: these fuses can affect ABS light on? great video! 👍
Thank you and yes it will.
Thanks so much I did everything my radio and dashboard light back again . God bless u .
Glad I could help and thank you :)
Do u have any video show how to remove the blower motor ?
@@zackzack8684 I do have a few other videos for the C30, but no blower motor replacement unfortunately.
Excellent - no wasted waffle. Hope this will help me trace a problem on my S 40 daytime running lights
Thank you so much!
Did it help? Having the same kind of problem...
@@anttilager177 Hi there, sorry but I’ve not looked at it yet.
could you solve the problem?
@@latking yes Mike. I replaced the relay and the headlight now works. Fortunately, I had a neighbour who desoldered the faulty relay for me and soldered the new one. I wasn’t too confident with doing the soldering.
Incredibly thorough video thank you
Very welcome!
Great video
My 2010 s40 T5 AWD just developed strange behavior. I got Anti-skid warning light and transmission shifts to N, once released gas pedal it shifts back to D. Repeated this for half dozen times and just went to normal. Three days later same thing. Transmission otherwise works flawlessl.
Would you think it has potentialy ECM issues
Thank you
Would you think
No problem!
Thanks for the video!
Do you need to remove the rest of the contact cleaner from the contacts before assembly?
Did you not take out the fuses and clean the connection then to, can be corroted then to..
Can you do a video on a parasitic draw my Volvo C70 seems to have one what's I checked all the fuses are okay the charging systems charging fine
Thank you, very well explained.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi i have a 2008 volvo c30 2.0tdi. Im wondering if u could tell me the location for the fuel safety switch off switch?? Had a minor bump that snapped my wishbone now the car will not start?! Any help would be muchly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Vehicle: 2000 VOLVO V70SE WAGON - Error Code: P1672 Engine control module ECM 5 volt output low
Symptoms: All gauges go out...occasionally the engine stalls too...it can take a couple minutes turned off before it resets & starts again.
Sometimes the transmission acts like it is slipping badly for about 10-15 seconds after the reset but then it works fine.
Thank You for the video, I will be attempting to do this soon, what is the material you applied just before reassembly ? Dialectic grease?
No, it is a different kind of grease that is electrically conductive, unlike dielectric grease which impedes electrical connections because it’s an insulator. You can often find electrically conductive grease sold for model trains (where it’s applied to the connector between the train and the track).
Hi my ford focus mk2 uk model has all at more or less the same time lost the Window washer and rear wash wipe also heater blower and the bonnet open light is always on. Did the gem test and the washer does not beep an the windscreen washer, rear wash wipe the heater blower beeps on the number 1 Any ideas what these non beeps are indicating please anybody? As any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
This might save my in-laws from ongoing expense. A C30 where wipers come on randomly and indicators intermittently won't work. My sister has a similar model of car and the CEM is flaky too. Just a terrible design fault I think.
What kind of problem have the car ? When this CEM have some problems .
I'm going to give this a go as my C30 control panel does not come on along with the heaters
How effective is this on the 02 - 07 V70 CEM's? Definitely a different CEM style than this older one.
I’m tackling this one over the weekend, for my ‘06 S40. I have an intermittent problem with driver door controls not working, as well as all of the alarms coming on at once. (It acts as if the main power connection to this CEM is being flaky, causing a restart/initialization)
Still doing it.
Do the car need to stay innside a garage now when it's winter? Or is it no problem ? Live in Norway so its like 0° to - 3° degrees at night now.
very thorough video.
Thank you!
Anyone know what that electrical contact protectant product is? I've googled and seem to find products that don't appear to be the same thing..
Can we use canned gas or no ?
Hey mate, thanks for the video. Any idea where the motor calculator might be. The metal box.
Cheers,
Windshield seal recall on many of these cars. Push out on windshield if it moves, it needs to be resealed
Hi, my car is unlocking very hard, I changed battery and its same i cant unlock my car "c70" whats the problem?
What size class are the fuses , standard, mini, or micro, ? they look small cheers..
Is it necessary to clean the area underneath the smaller fuses?
Only if they're corroded.
Very helpful thank you and God bless you in Jesus name
Thank you so much!
Is dielectric grease what I need for electrical contact after cleaning?
No. Dielectric grease does not conduct electricity, so putting it on the contacts will impede the electrical connection. You need a grease that is conductive.
Thanks for this.
You're welcome!
Very good thank you.
Thank you!
maybe you can say where is located fuse / relay for rear fog light (change bulb and that still don't work) Volvo V50 (2008)
My 06 V50 just stopped starting.
The dreaded “immobilizer, see manual” message appeared.
I hope its just some dirty connections…
Hi. My 07 V50 too. Have you found the problem?
@@ecobright8439 Not yet. I have eliminated over 14 different causes. A mechanic online sent me a schematic of the connector to my DEM (all codes point to my DEM), and what each of the seven terminals inside of that connector go to, Plus the voltage expectation for each terminal.
He seems to think that one of those terminals won’t be registering voltage as high or at all. Each of these terminals goes to a specific function in or out of my haldex differential. And this will point me to which problem I have.
I’m hoping this is it.
I’ll keep you guys posted

E003 (configuration fault, faulty communication)
My Volvo C30 is going into limp mode with brake failure and abs light and anti skid. Do you think this’ll help?
Possibly, I did experience similar issues.
Having the same issue randomly on my 2011 s40. Did it work for you? What was the result??
Great vid. Cheers 👍

Have you thought about doing pre flight safety with passengers. You have the voice for it. 😃🤣😂
Haha, well I did want to be a pilot at one point.
@@4DIYers do you do new keys for cars. I do but kinda new. To add volvo s40 key you got to remove this cem unit i believe
What year of car is this for?
Interesting & helpful
Thank you!
My volvo s40 2007 no power to fuel pump can I tray this method
Have you checked the fuse and relay? Typically the CEM corrosion will cause more than one issue.
Will this help with the center control panel not working? I have no power
Yes it can be the cause. Another issue can also be the connections behind the control panel too.
My CEM looks visually good, but im experiencing some gremlings sometimes.. with CCM, CEM and IAM. I might take it a part and give it a spray
Did it work?
Has anyone tried this for anti skid ?? Mines popped up on my 2007 volvo s40 and it will crank over or either start and turn right off I’m going to try this today and hope it works
did it work for you?
My c30's electric driver seat has been stuck for quite some time, though it used to come back on intermittently. Could a faulty CEM cause this?
End result?
Thanks
No problem!
Hello It is can help if cemnot work properly?]
Hi, when i have done everything and try to reconnect the negative part of the battery it gives off some pretty big sparks, have i done something wrong? @4diyers
Sounds like you have a parasitic draw which maybe larger than normal. I do have a video for that too. ruclips.net/video/iNEpCqcxImU/видео.html
Hi
I will do this on my xc90. Have you used Deoxit D5? Great video!
Thank you and that is actually what was used in the video.
@@4DIYers I just got Deoxit D5 from Sweden. I also got the same brush from a make up store. It is winter here in Norway and just around freezing. My plan is to use a heater to heat the car cabin and bring the module in the house the clean. Cross fingers.

HELP folks! Trying to diagnose the issue as local garage can’t look at it for over a month 🤦
Dashboard warning appeared saying “break system failure pull over safely” along with the traction control and ABS lights on, and Speedo not working. Breaks worked fine however but once pulled over and switched off the car won’t start as immobiliser is active.
Recovery man did some tests and found the CEM wasn’t getting any power, despite the battery and earth being fine. Fault code reads “lost communication with ABS module” is it the CEM or ABS module is the conundrum...
Thanks in advance!
Did you find the problem? My Volvo c30 is doing the same with immobiliser too
From my experience with identical issues it was the CEM.
My 05 reg Volvo s40 1.8 petrol having some issues driving it to day and the steering got real heavy followed by the lights on the dash bord went out so I pulled over switched it off and when I tryed to start it again it just made a clicking noise a few times and then nothing like the battery is dead but it isn't wen I turn the key nothing happens no lights on the dash cabin lights and the key fob is stuck in the ignition tried to jump start it whit cables lights came bk on but the imobiliser warning came up on the dash any ideas what the issue is please
It would be best to try this method first.

Hi 4DYIers, I have a volvo v50 T AWD 2005. On the dash board has lots of indicator lights, ABS lights etc. Sometimes the ignition has to be turned more than twice before it will start. Sometimes it stops to start even after a long drive. Please could you please make a video on how to diagnose those light indicators. Thanks
CEM cleaning is a place to start with such issues.

Love the video,I have a Ford Focus 2010 (UK Model) which I believe has the same module. Is there any kind of reprogramming/resetting of any thing after refitting the module Many thanks.
Thank you! Yep, that shares the same platform as the P1 Volvos. No programming or reset is needed. The only time programming would be needed is if you're replacing the current CEM.

Not with ignitions though
Awesome video. I have a 2007 c30 2.0d. It was sat for 6 months and developed a parasitic drain. Found that fuse F5 (pre heater/PTC) in engine bay was draining my new battery overnight. I haven't taken the CEM out of mine yet but could this potentially be the issue?
Yes it could potentially be a problem.
