    This looks great. All the buttons work on the waterfall but rarely light. Would I need to buy a whole new waterfall or is there an easy fix. Thank you for your videos, they are so helpful.

    Hey, do you have any info is there a possibility to switch the standard audio to other like premium audio or DTS?

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  3 года назад

      If you have standard audio, then you can start with replacing speakers with the High Performance or Premium ones. It's a simple swap, you would have to do it anyway, so why not start with it to check how much of a difference it will make?
      If I recall correctly, audio system elements have some kind of component protection which will lock or limit the device if it detects that it was installed in new/different car. Anti-thief security mechanism. Also not sure how much wiring you would have to add/change to make it work.

      You would have to disassemble the climate control module, then find those LEDs that are not working, check if it's faulty LED or some other component. Then soldering of new ones.

      mr-fix No problem :D, oh and I'm a bit puzzle at something, can someone install a aux port on the S40's BASIC sound system? I myself have installed it on my S40, but it has the premium system, I'm asking this because a couple of days ago on the Volvo subreddit, almost everyone was asking that question, anyways keep up the great work! :D

    • @mrfixpl
      @mrfixpl  9 лет назад

      ***** there is a way but that's not a clean install. You need to modify the amplifier and you don't have the "mode" button functionality.
      You can also find OEM parts for AUX but you'll most likely and up in your Volvo dealer to reprogram your car which isn't cheap.

      I've owned Volvo's for 20 years,everything from 240 bricks[fav] to XC's,and I've never heard of the "facelift" model,but have seen it referred to here lately...Do you know what the reference is to? Yes,not having the"access piece" made a 30 minute job,a 4 hour job.It took so long because of the cleaning one can do when the center console is gone....Nice video,young man,thanks.

      S40/V50 had some exterior changes (late 2007: new lights front and back, grill, bumpers, wider VOLVO emblems on the trunk 2011: large grill logo) and interior changes (2006: dome light, DSTC button removal; 2007: chrome knobs, different air vents, handbrake with middle console, slightly different instrument cluster, remote).

      I'm partial to my S40....but I'm partial to Volvos in general.A lot of people complain about difficulty to work on them.....I've been an ASE mech for 15yrs,and I happen to find them easy,although it could be familiarity....My least fav to turn wrenches on is a Toyota/Lexus....Thanks for the info on the "facelift"..it will help further searches.
