One of Clints best!!. My favorite line when cop pulled me over and Clint raised trunk lid and said "Brand new Gibson"... The guitar...lol girl pops head up,Or " I have conceived" lol..
My Father also died from LC in 1996,Dad was on a Destroyer FILLED with asbestos the USS Mertz built by Bath Iron works in Bath Maine a LOT of men died from them,But Dad fired the boilers the WORST possible job for exposure,May our Fathers rest in peace brother😇
i paid to see another movie, snuck out of the film and went to the next door and this movie began, i stayed the whole time and my mom had the whole staff looking for me because i wasn't were i was supposed to be. good film with an A+
This is when country was still country. If your listening nashville please fire everyone and bring in real country western music. my favorite clint eastwood film too.
@@TOOFERMAC53 the first kind is True country up through the 90s. The 2nd kind is more like rock, some of the so called country songs are actually rap songs. That is Not true country
Wow! this movie came out 31 yrs ago... I loved this song as a child because of the harmonica, but now as an adult I can appreciate Marty Robbins voice & the lyrics ... still love that harmonica!
Great movie this song and the ending choked me up and i was only 12 years old when I first seen the movies and this was like 1995 and i swear it still have the same effect on me to date.
This is simply a cool song. I grew up with the Backstreet Boys, Jenna Jameson, and whatnot, and yet I love both this movie, and this song. I've heard other songs that Marty Robbins sang back in the day, and honestly they are so damn good! Sadly, Marty Robbins passed away shortly before this film was released in theaters due to a massive heart attack.
I never understood how the Critics gave this movie a bad review? Sure it wasn't the typical Clint Eastwood movie but it was still very well directed and acted by all involved! The music was great too! .
GREAT Movie! Damn movie critics really shunned this flick! Shows you what they know! I remember reading that Marty Robbins died a few weeks after filming the recording scene.
@Bo618 Ah quel film ...ou l'on voie la rude vie des artistes de Country de l'époque dans les bars et surtout cette recherche musical .......avec en toile de fond un grand de la country music ......Marty Robbins....... Merci Mr Eastwood pour ce film
@hansberthel Right U are... Guess I'm gonna watch it again and cryyyyyyy tonight... for he... 27th (..?) time...! WHAT a movie !! WHAT a man! Happy B-day Mr HonkyTonk Man...
This is an outstanding video...Thank you so much for posting it...The song itself, of course and the movie are absolutely wonderful...Clinr Eastwood once again proved he can do it all...and better than anyone else...
In the movie, toward the end of the song during the recording session, "Smokie" played by Marty Robbins has to finish singing the song. Then Clink's character dies. In real life, Marty Robins included Honkytonk Man on his last album and he died before it was released. (And for those who say Clint's singing is wimpy, you might like Marty Robbins's version; wimpy it ain't).
I get what you mean but this movie was less about country music and more about Clint having a bit off fun. Plus every country singer stands in the shadow of J.R Cash. The only country singer never to sell out and grow his hair long.
clint e il più grande attore regista e produttore dei piu magnifici film ,la sua arte e immensa e in questo film come in altri fa come se il protagonista fosse chi vede il film
Goodnight. I'm looking for a soundtrack for a movie that used songs by a North American composer/musician, I think jazz. I remember that this musician had been forgotten, and he was remembered in this film, and he came to be well regarded by critics and society. I thought it was some Clint Eastwood movie, but I don't think it is. It's a movie from the 90's, probably between 1995 and 1999. Does anyone have any idea who I'm talking about?
Good film, however, there were some scenes that just ruined the film. If you took out the brothel scene and maybe one or two others, I would classify this film as an all time favourite!

Good movie but sorry Eastwood was absolutely and completely and utterly miscast. Johnny Cash should have been cast and that's where and when it shoud have ended. This is a movie about Johnny Cash , it IS Johnny Cash. It would have really put a huge light on him. Whoever cast this movie should be smacked upside the head
One of Clints best!!. My favorite line when cop pulled me over and Clint raised trunk lid and said
"Brand new Gibson"...
The guitar...lol girl pops head up,Or " I have conceived" lol..
When this came out, my father was dying from lung cancer. It was some kind of support. The scene where Marty takes over the singing is a masterpiece.
I know how you feel i lost my papa the same way and this movie and the song brings memories back.
I just loved Marty Robbins. He could put on a show! Cried like a baby when he pasted.
This song stirs my emotions like no song ever has or probably ever will.
this movie is absolutely beautiful. it made me cry so hard...i love it.

Clint Eastwood is playing his part somewhat to Jimmie Rodgers both had TB and died young

Joe regalbuto makes an appearance. He was in street hawk.
I want to see this movie ,who can provide me ? Thanks!
Mieux chanté par Clint Eastwood que par l'autre
How old was Kyle Eastwood when this was made?
Good film, however, there were some scenes that just ruined the film. If you took out the brothel scene and maybe one or two others, I would classify this film as an all time favourite!
The girl in this movie was killed in real life. Just beginning to take off in Hollywood and died too young.
I didn't know that. :(
I heard she killed herself
